Anyone see Into Darkness ?

MsM 05-20-2013 12:15 PM

We went this weekend and LOVED it! We both wanna see it again, and soon. I was a big fan of the first one and I can say I actually liked this better.

There are naysayers saying we are screwing up the canon with this series, but they are neglecting the entire alternate timeline bit. Whatever I say.. it was full of delicious action, witty lines, and Uhura was a bad. ass.

Glad to hear it was good. I liked the first one, so I'll probably try to see this one in the theater.

:popcorn:I am looking forward to it as well. Glad you hear you loved it MsM. See, I hate a crowed theater, so I am going to have to wait a week or two and try to hit an early matinee. I'm such a spoiled brat-owski when it comes to stuff like that.

The caption on this photo read "My 8 year old niece wanted to watch Aliens last night. Found this in the living room this morning."

When I was at Maker Faire last weekend I met some folks setting up a shared membership lab; 'a hacker space for biotech', it sounds like fun (to me) and they have a sense of humour too!

It's called BioCurious.org and their tag line is "Experiment with friends!"

:cheesy:

I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down Miss Hollylane. ;)
Big picture, Pangaea existed 300M years ago and then began to slowly crack apart and break up 200M years ago.
Put in that perspective there has been minuscule change.
Just an ebbing and flowing, really.

I called an engineer to set up an interview today and caught myself impersonating Yoda. "Good news I have," said I.

I guess for me, the observable and scary difference, between now and 200M years ago, is overpopulation, and the resulting irreversible damage to previously unpopulated and untouched areas. That just doesn't look like ebb and flow to me, and it doesn't look to be slowing down any time soon. The Earth seems to be changing much more rapidly now, then it did in the time of Pangaea...So, some of those images made me think about that...
