I can only eat bananas if they're like 40% green. No more and no less.

Every day when i come home, i think to myself LOVE being here alone. i have tried co-habitation too many times to try it again. i want my own space. however, it would be nice to have some company, but then they have to go home. |

He and my stepmom lived in separate homes. Granted, they usually lived next door or around the corner from one another for over 30 years but it was ideal. He came over and helped her with the house and she sent him home with a plate of food. They were able to love one another and then go HOME. It was like they dated for over 3 decades so they kept the spark alive. |

I don't like flip flops. They are noisy and I don't like having a toe wedgie.

I sort of did this with a semi-distance relationship for almost four years. The "part time together" worked well for both of us as we both liked our space, but the distance between us was too great. We had trouble being able to really keep our relationship building and merging as neither of us were going to be relocating. We "lived together" pretty much every weekend and then were an almost 4 hour drive apart during the week. For me, I'd want my living apart partner to be close... in their own space. I think something like this probably is why my parents stayed together. They always lived together but their entire working lives they worked opposite schedules. My mom worked all day while my dad was home and my dad worked all night while my mom was home. She panicked when he retired because she wasn't sure what to do with him so she made him build a wood shop (he's a woodworker/handyman) in the back yard so he would keep busy out of the house and he wasn't allowed to retire until the shop was finished being built. |

I don't like it when people get moody with me, it pisses me off and makes me in a foul mood.

I dislike people that run hot and cold!
You know the type that falls all over you one day, and then the next wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire:fastdraq: |
I'm a pillow queen, in so many ways .... there's no such thing as too many pillows. I add to my pillow collection as often as I can. And, just like collecting pillows, I collect scarfs. Some I wear (a black silk gold embroidery thread scarf from Japan), or I have lots of big scarfs that are batik, or silk, or cotton silk screened prints that I drape over windows or room furnishings. I also like unusual umbrellas, too. Some I use as decorations, others I use when it rains. :)

I am a cancer and have lived near water all my life! And I mean within walking distance of the water!
Lake Superior in my hometown, Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, Alki Beach in Seattle, and now Puget Sound/ Discovery Bay here! But I can prolly count the time I have actually walked down and sat and enjoyed it on one hand and have fingers left over! |
I love the panoramic view of Seattle, from the penthouse suite of the tallest building downtown. I'll never forget the blue hour, watching the pale green-yellowish sun sink into the myriad layers of blue to dark blue clouds and watching the ferries sail across the stormy Elliot bay. That was about three years ago now, for my friends 40th wedding anniversary. All that to say, that Seattle is my favorite city in the Pacific Northwest.
Second only to..... Fraiser. *lol* :eyebat: |
I have to side step my advocacy for the living apart thing to remember that I did have a really good living together relationship for one long chunk of time. We were together 10 years and lived together, really well, for 9 1/2 years. Even when we were separating we did better than most as far as stopping living together went.
Now I think I've gotten just too set in my ways- but I suppose I should keep in mind that I've seen and experienced it working with the right person. Plus we had a pretty big house to spread out in. |
I prefer 90's Country music.
