The colour Blue..

Being asked to fill out a small 'about me' questionnaire for my new job to go with my first day photo so my coworkers can get to know me better (everyone has one posted on the intraweb). It was basic stuff (hometown, favorite hobby, movie, vacation spot and quote) but it felt great to feel included and part of a team :sunglass:

Not a one particular thing... the whole day has been smile worthy! Got some errands done... some crafting some... some chatting done... a very productive and satisfying day! I gotta take off from work more often! :koolaid:

Talking to my Daddi as we are both home on a Friday afternoon!

An overdue appointment with my chiropractor.
An overdue haircut.
A phone number with a short but sweet note from my barista, strategically placed on my coffee cup. She gets bonus points for creativity.

Watching Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor do the Woodpecker Dance in the Movie Stir Crazy.

"Interesting mix..." Well I guess it kinda really is.. Laughed about as hard as when the cashier at Walmart said it when I set down a 8 pack of disposable cameras, a value pack of zip ties, value pack of duct tape and the largest size one can buy of Vaseline..

The Roller Derby World Cup. I adore the derby scene! It's not only about an excellent sport, it's just so full of fun and joy and happiness and good sportsmanship, and supporting good causes - especially encouraging girls to do sports at school and stick with education and suchlike around the world.

And now the World Cup is over, and it's three years until the next one :-(

Oh well, I'll just have to make do with the regular inter-league matches and the WFTDA anual finals! :-)

Realising that earlier today I learnt the fingering* to "You Came". By a band called The Merry Thoughts. OK, so I've a childish mind, but a snigger's a kind of smile, no?

*I'm a learner bass player and have been for nearly 40 years.

Survey says.....

A blue sky day. After weeks of grey, misty and cold I am enjoying a soft blue sky and sunshine on my face. Supposed to start raining tomorrow and continue all weekend so appreciating this all the more.

Also smiling because a sweet little Wyandotte hen that was feeling poorly and in quarantine is now doing much better. A friend has a backyard flock and I like to go visit.

Katniss~~ I guess you could say the hen has "re-coop-erated". 😄

I was at a local florist shop looking at funeral arrangements when another woman came in looking for an arrangement as well. We started talking about our loved ones and how they both passed away rather suddenly, and I had said that I actually had forgotten about purchasing a flower arrangement, as I was so focused on getting everything else done. We both went back to selecting our arrangements when she walked over and gave me her condolences and said, "I hope you don't mind, but I put down some money towards your mother's arrangement." The florist also gave me a significant discount, and said "I too know how hard it can be. I hope your mother's memorial is beautiful." All I could do was cry and say thank you.
