I think I met my new employee today!

It's Tuesday afternoon here and I am just returning to work tonight (I work nights) from a long weekend. Love that I only have a 4-day work week this week. Yay me. :)

Thinking about last night when I went out to dinner with my sister - it has been quite awhile since we both have been able to smile and laugh. It felt good to make some progress on the grieving.

Seeing BOTH roosters and the four hens hunkering down under the Forsythia bush which is starting to yellow, noticing the lawn around the house is starting to vaguely look green, the Willow tree is also greening and hearing the wind coming off the mountain behind the house.

Smile Today
Talking to the little one always makes me smile. When a child smiles and says I miss you and love you, you can be assured she really does. I have a picture she drew of the two of us waiting for me to pick up. (tomorrow or Wed.) I got a sample of her singing Oh Canada! She will be five in July and I have a good surprise coming her way.

Getting a wheelchair and a push from several consecutive security officers at the Covid vaccine site today. They were all so nice and funny! One of them told me he was going to be my "cadillac".

My youngest grandson blowing me kisses in between bites when I shared some of my gelate with him. I'm glad given a choice he chose to eat just as many bites of the healthy stuff on his plate. That made me smile today too.

I got to see both of my former employees today and it was nice to catch up.

Loki is a jerk to Gracie when she's in the small cat tree, which looks out a nice big window. She'll be nice and comfy and then he'll come along and jump up and sit on her or push her over until she jumps down. Total asshat! Today, I saw her return the favor and she knocked him off the tree. Ha! Go girl!
Loki's 20 lbs and is about 3 feet long so he's a big guy and Gracie's only 7.5 lbs and maybe half as long as him. She's the tiniest full grown kitty I've ever had. He uses his size to intimidate and bully her sometimes and I always get a kick out of it when she stands up for herself and gives it back to him. He always has a WTF? face afterwards that is priceless. |
My dentist. He helped me thru this gag reflex moment as I was getting impressions.
So sweet. He totally talked me thru it. |
Made me smile today
As usual chatting with the family via Skype. Four of us on line and on camera to chat, very nice. (father is working out of town all week).
