Also, to clarify a question from some ~>as there are various Matchbox Sizes.
There has been a standard quote "no larger than 4 "x 6" per item" (not wanting to ship really big boxes) . You can make your matchbook any size, you can alter one already made, from the little bitty to "no larger than 4"x6" each.

The photo is on my computer, I am not a paid member, so I can't post directly from a computer file. It's all there is left of it, as I did the scan before I cut it up to be sent out. The others in that project have the individual pieces.

Anyways, that's why I asked if I should send the pic to you, so you could post it into the project gallery y'all were talking about starting here on bfp. And I dont have a cell phone. I can send it directly to you, but I need an email address to do that. Right?

Go to your library and upload it to a printer they have.

Had just settled in
When out on the ceiling there arose such a flicker,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

..it was the reflection of the new air conditioner's fan shining on the ceiling and windows. like crinkled aluminum foil lighting bounding off the walls.

Closed the shuters, Went back to bed, Hmmmm..Had a great artistic idea...shifiting and turning side to side~ thinking about the matchboxes~ ..wiggled toes,. Kitten attacked me, cat jumped on my head, I got out of bed/ Sitting alone, and quiet, with my matchbox project...

Ahh, my little piece de` arte are going to be such fun.

(no drugs or alcohol are involved and no small animals were hurt during this presentation)

I still haven't heard from the person I sent mine too... to know if they received it. And I still haven't received mine yet. Moments like this-- really disappoint me and make me not want to participate in projects because of lack of doing or communication.

I owe an apology to CCB and ahk. I had to travel to Houston, unexpectedly, for work this week. CCB, your project arrived this week and I just opened the package. It's wonderful, thank you so much! ahk, I have my project for you all packaged and ready to go. I didn't remember to bring it to Houston with me to mail. I probably won't get to the post office tomorrow, (I haven't seen my dogs all week) but it will be on it's way to you Monday.

I began this project yesterday. It is very exciting - I purchased 2 sets of 10 matchboxes. I will probably make 20 and send some to relatives after sending to those who signed up. Such a damn cute idea!! And I have such a great idea for them.

Gemme, I think people are wanting to make altered matchboxes. Or they are good to put in an airtight jar for Mergencies....like umm. Hmmm. In an emergency should we be lighting matches...anyway,

I looked for the plain ones at all the usual places. No luck. On line was too expensive, so.

bought regular little matchboxes at Smart & Final. 99 cents for 6,

Kaijira bought hers at Von.

Maybe HomoDepot? I though about making them, but that went out fast as the lights.

Lowe's has them here, I think you can check their site for locally available.

Those are the exact ones that I ordered. They are from London, sweet girly, so they will take up to 3 weeks to get to me.

Not yet. I have tried Wal-Mart and stores along those same lines. They carry the packs of 10 but they are all. sold. out.

Like I said, someone in RI is playing with matches.

I don't want to do the DIY version. I trust manufacturers much better than I trust myself.

No Von, Smart & Final or Publix here. I tried our version, Job Lot, to no avail.

I'll check the home improvement stores although I expect that they will carry the water resistant ones that come in a completely different sized container than what I want. The box stores tend to carry their matchboxes and matchbooks in more than one area. The picnic section (paper products aisle), the housewares section and the camping section. The only section that had the size I wanted was housewares.

You can order it from Wal-Mart online or Amazon, clay. :)

I checked one but we have a couple in the area. I'll keep my eyes open.

My beef was that I have today off so I was trying to find some yesterday to begin my journey. I've got everything else I need (and then some!) except the actual boxes.

I was surprised that Michael's did not carry them either. Every time I go in there, it seems as if they carry less and less of what I need.

I like bugs, so as long as no actual bugs were injured in the making of the project, that's good with me. Not big into jewelry, so no need for pen or pendant. I like to have little trinkets sitting on bookshelves, desks, etc. But if making it in jewelry works better for your project, I'd prefer a pendant.

That's wild... I would never have thought to look in Hobby Lobby or any other craft store.

I haven't bought my match boxes yet, so here's hoping I can find them okay when I do. I'm going to have to go with the larger size, for what I want to do, as I'm not real great working that small anymore-my hands shake too much. Still getting material-or rather, waiting for my packages to come in from supplies trades I've been doing. That and a little money. I REALLY want to get started on this!
