Here's the version of Where Did You Sleep Last Night / In the Pines that was on TB last night.
The Lead Belly version of this song has been on heavy rotation on my mp3 player for forever. But this one was alright. |

i wasn't particularly impressed with the finale either...my favourite part was Sookie's grandmother...as far as a cliff-hanger goes i think the possibility of Russell returning is interesting. Wonder if Pam dug him up...
Pork rind casserole? |

Russell returning will really spice up next season. At least I hope so. I was disapointed they killed of Jesus, and I hope Lafayette learns to sleep with his mouth closed in next season :

Poor Jesus...he was just so sweet! i have a feeling we'll see him some more... Wasn't Rene creepy? Funniest line of the season: Arlene: "Do you remember when Terry went off his meds and was telling everyone he was King Zignats?" |
:vampire: I too am sorry to see Jesus gone but Lafayette is toooo fabulous to be tied down!
I have read the all the Southern Vampire series and a few others from Charlaine Harris. I have not read all 15 pages of this thread, so pardon me if this information has been covered. But, I read an interview of Charlaine Harris where she explained that the Vampire mysteries were inspired by the discrimination she encountered as a lesbian in the south. So, instead of gay and lesbians she wrote of vampire discrimination, fighting for rights, etc. I thought it was pretty interesting. |
Charlaine is not a lesbian but she is supportive.
"#1 New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris has been a published novelist for over 25 years. A native of the Mississippi Delta, she grew up in the middle of a cotton field. She now lives in southern Arkansas with her husband and three dogs. Their three children are out of the nest. In her years as a published writer, she’s written four series and two stand-alones, plus numerous short stories." http://community.pflag.org/page.aspx?pid=1344 |
okay, well then I obviously am mistaken. Sorry for the misguided post.

Lolly, Maybe you should have read the books instead of listening to them. :glasses: I was shocked this morning to find that you had posted. You are up to 12 posts!! i was so excited. I will be watching it again.
Eric and his "sister" Pam in walmart yellow sweats with kittens on them "I am a gay vampire american" Ike Applebaum Tara. half her head blown off and she still has a job. She just ate her son. so happy it's back. |
I'm so bummed because the kid and I have watched this every season since it started and now we can't :(. Finances are tight right now and this is just a luxury we can't afford. I wonder if there are any places online to watch it. Grrrrr

I'm wearing a Wal-Mart sweat suit for y'all. -- Pam
And I loved the memory of Sookie and Tara as kids. Tara was bad ass even then. Oh wow! I love that actress who is playing Martha Bozeman (werewolf). She was in a movie I just saw and was mesmerizing. (That movie was Winter's Bone.) |
OMGGG I didnt think of that. Called my nephew who has HBO and he has given me permission to use his HBGgo. Thank you soooo much for telling me this. I was really bummed out about not being able to watch it. I wonder if it is online the same day the episode starts. Anyone know??

I A-dore Pam...even in her yellow Wal-Mart sweat suit.

I must say I am just not feeling True Blood so far this season.
Maybe it is too soon and it will grow on me but I am not feeling Tara as a vamp either. |

Didn't poor Lafayette already go through one season with PTSD? And Reverend Steve Newlin as a gay American Vampire? I dunno, just seems like the subplots are getting a little thin. I am enjoying learning Pam's history, but even the whole "flashback as a form of mourning" device is a bit too contrived for my taste. It's Alan Ball's last season- maybe he's trying to leave them with plenty of material to work with? :

But at least we're getting to see more of Erics yummy body. Although I could do with LESS of Sheriff Bellefleur's body. LOL |

I thought that Lafayette's panic was funny a time or two, and I like the idea of the Sheriff dating. That actor is so good. But all the vampire politics -- too chatty. I was fascinated to see Linda Purl again. But the whole killing of Debbie Pelt and Alcide's anger plot is boring so far. I thought that Jessica and Jason's interactions were pretty cool. Jason as a sexual abuse survivor is sort of interesting. And everything Pam is hot. Never enough Pam. Not so into Salome although I was interested in the idea of a woman having sex with three guys in a row presented sort of matter of factly. They did use the horrible phrase "sloppy seconds," but not as if truly grossed out. Also, having the secularist mainstreamers being oppressors and torturers is a little too cynical for me. What is he doing with that? |
Quote:
Tara, true death please, pretty please!!!! Re: the disgusting sloppy seconds comment, which I never thought I would live to hear on TV in my lifetime-even on HBO; It is probably near impossible to gross out a vampire! |

We don't have cable either... We have the login info from a friend who DOES have cable and HBO Sort of when I had Netflix... I was a giver like that... |
What.The.F@ck. Just happened!!!!! Damnit! (Can't give it away, 'cause I know some of y'all are still watching.)
|
Is the most recent episode not the goriest episode ever? Jeez.
|
A conversation with someone unfamiliar with True Blood (during the scene where Sookie is helping Eric, Bill and Alcide search for Russell):
Her: Who's that? Is he into the blonde or what? Me: That's Eric, he's a vampire. He was with Sookie last season and still wants her. Her: And who's that? Me: That's Vampire Bill, her ex. He still wants her too. Her: And who's that? Me: That's Alcide, he's a werewolf. He's wanted Sookie for a while, but tonight was the closest he's gotten. Her: Jeez, does every freak on this show want to have sex with the blonde? Me: Well, yeah, she's a fairy. Her: ...... |

I liked it alot better with a couple of vampires, a shifter, and a few werewolves. A few plotlines rather than my head spinning around trying to remember what everyone in the town is doing. Now EVERYONE is either something other than human or dealing with something other than human. Really for me this season it kind of sucks (actually last season kind of sucked too) and now I'm biding my time waiting for Boardwalk Empire to start. The Tara thing is so overdone I'd like to stake her myself just to shut her up....the same with Hoyt....he looks ridiculous in leather and eyeliner. I love Pam and would like to see her storyline develop into a Queen vamp or something. That whole thing with "The Authority" is kind of silly. (although I was surprised that they staked the kid) Oh well I guess we'll see what happens next week. |
Quote:
And I TOTALLY agree about Pam. I adore her character. Her attitude. mmmmm And yes, Hoyt looked like an idiot. And an Ifrit? Really? Jesus, if they keep this up, it will make getting rid of premium channels and lowering my cable bill really easy. I basically am keeping it only for TrueBlood at this point, 'cause most everything else we watch is on the non-premium channels. |
I've got Dixie hooked on this show now so i had to save the prior 2 weeks so we could watch it when she came own.
Even after watching the episodes back to back i have to say my head still hurts trying to keep(and figure out)all the plot lines going on...seems like so many with no real understanding of any of them yet. I have to agree with Pajara about Tara...the bustier was the best she has ever looked, but her talking makes me wanna stake her! |

The damn Ifrit is just too much. It seems out of place. They have wayyyyy too many storylines going on this show sometimes. :seeingstars: |

We recently got HBO Go and I have been playing catch-up at night on my iPad. So far I am in love with the shows Girls and Hung.
My honey is so hooked on True Blood. I tried. I really did, but vampires just aren't my thing. <shhhhh> :

The girl fight with Tara looks promising tho. Hope it continues.
|
I am still not into this season. It just feels forced to me, off balance. I keep hoping it just has not found its groove yet but I actually fast-forwarded through a few parts for the first time ever.
I am still hoping for the true death for Tara but don't see that happening. Hoyt did look like an ass and Jessica always looks hot. Pam is a trip, always liked her. |
