My hope is for a little icon to denote a persons differently-abled status. It is not in any way meant to denote head injury or any such thing. Rather I'd like a little symbol in the "about me" section where an icon can be shown next to the posts. Something simple but universal. It envelops inclusiveness of ALL forms of differently abled.

Here are a few suggestions:

Ah.. in the About Me section, eh? Hrm... let me ponder this one for a bit. This will require a little bit of template changing in the background or something. I take it that this would be something that the individual would choose to identify as and would have the option of making it public?

Yes. I know it is a lot to ask. You know how there is a globe for location over to the left of where one post? What about a lil' icon (self imposed) there denoted different abledness? If it CAN be done I think it would help build bridges.

By the time I figure out where the damn hell the ignore list is in my CP I have already forgotten how to spell their username OR who I was trying to block in the first place and I get in trouble if I don't put people on ignore.

Done. We now have "Add user to Ignore list" and "Add user to Contact list" now on the drop down of the user post bits (that's the little profile info beside a user's post).

Thanks, y'all. *skips off with her newfound power button*

Is there an option,or a subscription level, allowing an ability to put specific threads or forums on ignore?
Thankyou. :chaplin:

That's the comprehensive ignore. I'll have to check with the Admin about that one. I did send it to her but think the holidays may have interfered with it being put in.

Lately, data transfer on BFP is very slow. Sometimes it will error out, or the load icon is looping and never loads the page. Anyone else experiencing this? Server?

NJFemmie 12-30-2009 01:05 PM

Yes, I have been getting a LOT of server timeout error messages and the site itself has been taking very long to load. You are not alone.

SuperFemme 12-30-2009 01:10 PM

I need a facial too. :computer2:

My wife will be updating you in a moment, I can tell you I heard her all the way in the living room and she was on the phone in the back bedroom.

She is on her way to work and will be making an announcement in a few.

Imagine Medusa with her phone on speaker cussing out GoDaddy while putting on her make-up.

Then.......... when I went to kiss her goodbye I was informed that I need a facial

I think my wife is on a roll.

I appreciate Medusa's multi-tasking abilities :)

Selenay 12-30-2009 05:24 PM

While Jack, SuperFemme and I are out getting our facials, can we maybe have a line break in the thing next to our posts where we have our location, relationship status and such?

it kind of runs together in one big blob of text and it would be visually easier on me, for one, if there was a littttle separation.

I'm going to try bolding the categories and see if that helps (Please let me know). I may use lines on the lower ones (once I find which page has those bits in it)

Oh yeah that looks way better, the only thing I would say is confusing now is the lack of break between usertitle and whatever that first one is.

But beyond that, A+!

Edit: I think if you just bold the categories on the lower ones, you won't even need the breaks

Linus 12-30-2009 06:41 PM

How's that?

I have not been getting the emails for my subscribed threads for at least the past couple of hours. I have my account set up for instant email notifications. Is there some maintenance going on or something? I haven't changed my parameters at all.

No maintenance, just more shitty service from GoDaddy :)

No worries, we are migrating servers like, beginning tomorrow :)

Right on. I just didn't know the source. I think I can take having to hunt down my 220-odd threads for a few days. :)

Does this mean Medusa is NOT my Daddy anymore?
Oh dear lord. Bring back the kettle. I'll put out for cotton balls.

Dragonfly 01-01-2010 03:26 AM

Question!!

What is a Yahoo slurp spider and why is it listed in the viewers of the thread Random things? Is that a member?

Dragonfly 01-01-2010 03:30 AM

What are Spiders?

And why is that labeled Google or Yahoo spider as in different from a guest viewer?

Selenay 01-01-2010 03:39 AM

It's a "bot" index tool for search engines.

Example:

Yahoo! Slurp is the Yahoo! web indexing robot. The Yahoo! Slurp web crawler collects documents from the Web to build a searchable index for search services using the Yahoo! Search engine. These documents are discovered and crawled because other webpages contain links to these documents.
As part of the crawling effort, the Yahoo! Slurp crawler takes robots.txt standards into account to ensure that we do not crawl and index content from pages that you do not want to be included in Yahoo! Search results. If a page is disallowed to be crawled by robots.txt standards, Yahoo! does not read or use the contents of that page.

If you weren't an owner of this site Jack, I'd rake you over the coals for perpetuating magical thinking

STOP IT.

Dammit Chris, ownership never stopped you BEFORE. . .

Deep seeded voodoo doll hate.

I dont know if this has been asked or not..but.

Can we do something about not being able to see our reps and thanks for too long. If you get several in a day and dont check right away, (which I dont) then you may not get to see your comments. I like going back and smiling/laughing.

Thanks!
