I did my weigh in, had my things listened to and left 4 vials of blood. I also left withOUT a script for hypertension. Yep, that right…no BP meds. I dropped 32 lbs since my last visit which I’m guessing had something to do with the lower BP. I’m still on the borderline of high but he didn’t want to prescribe anything just yet. So I’ll be going back in a month to be rechecked. Oh and btw, my blood work came back with everything in the normal range. Time to get on the treadmill. This has been a great incentive.

I started back juicing again and just in a few days its amazing how much better I feel. I'm doing mostly organic romaine, celery, cilantro, green apple and organic spinach.

I bought a bunch of packs of frozen organic mixed veggies. I make rice in my rice pot ahead, stir fry the veggies with some nice live cultured soy (just a dabble)

I feel so much better when I eat fruits and veggies.

The "reality check" part of this last year has been one of the more interesting parts of the journey for me.

While the losing some favored foods part sucks, it speaks volumes about how much we can teach ourselves about ourselves.

While the Doctors, and books, and documentaries, will all tell us to do things like "you should cut back on fried foods";
eliminating an item for a time and then reintroducing it will give us a visceral lesson not soon forgotten.

The gut trumps the intellect in a pretty big way.

Back to life, back to reality...

I confess I've fallen off track the past few weeks in the rush and mayhem of big events, a bit of vacation time and power outages.

I have not tracked anything I've eaten or any of my exercise. And more importantly (for me) I've become really lazy about my food planning and prep - which means I've been eating irregularly and with a fuckit-i'm-starving-attitude. I know that when I am thoughtful and organized I eat more consistently and make much much better choices.

And I know that if I don't get myself back on track now, I will use the flurry of the holidays as an excuse to be less vigilant.

So for the next three weeks these are my goals:

*Use WW online to track what I am eating on a daily basis.

*Be more mindful in my grocery shopping so that I have everything I need to prepare my breakfast and lunches for the next day.

*Plan a few dinners for the week to come and make it easy for myself to execute them. (ie. make a big salad that can stretch a few days, grill up a pack of chicken breasts, make soup, etc.)

*Re-run week 8 of the C25k to get myself back on track. And get through week 9 (and the end of the program).

*Make it to 2 to 3 pilates, stability ball or core strengthening classes a week.

*Take my 32oz water bottle to work with me every day (as religiously as I take my thermos full of coffee)

my personal trainer is a Nutritionist and if you are interested in his ideas and his theories i'd be happy to give you his page... he is on Facebook.

what i do are the following:

food shopping on a full stomach

going out to eat on a full stomach ~ meaning eating an hour before, so it saves you about 300 calories and a little cash

cut down on carbs

up the cardiovascular activities

eat more veggies at dinner instead of carbs ~ like i cut out pasta, rice; now i have broccoli, spinach, etc...

eat until you are content ~ Not Full

i went from 133 lbs. down to 116 lbs. in a matter of a few months...

Hey everyone,

Man oh man, seems like its been forever since I've been here but I need to be here right now. There has been alot going on the last month, more in the last week than I care to remember, and I've been eating more than I should. I'm hoping to get back to where I was before this month gave Me some real headaches (and a real scare too) but now I hope that things will go back to normal *crossing fingers*

Good Morning all.. ♥

So glad to feel motivated again, the last few weeks i've been a lil mopey with my exercising, and didn't do it quite enough..
Also, picked up on a bit of a bad habit, i found orange juice which is really good for me, it's natural, but when i buy it, i drink far too much each day uncontrollably so had to put a stop to that..

i only managed a 1 lb loss (but thankful for no gain) since my last weigh in.. So that brings me at 59 lbs lost, i soooo wanted to be in the 60's this time around.. Finally managed to get motivated, with exercise and eating better, STOPPED buying the dang orange juice since i've no control ..

Wednesday, i went for a 3 1/2 hour long hike with a friend of mine, which felt great! Used muscles i didn't know existed i think, ouch! lol..i figured out a good work out plan for me, even while i work crazy hours, so far it's working out great..

Breakfast today, i had a yogurt, 1/2 cup multigrain cheerios with skim milk, 1/2 banana sliced in and a boiled egg..

Yum!! having some grapes for snack now, lunch i think will be tuna salad on crackers with some sliced cucumber, tomatoes & maybe carrot sticks!

Have a fantastic day xoxo!

If you can make it to the Reunion, I will gladly bring you some of their bagels or we will find one in Little Rock!

Hi everyone :)

Saturday morning weigh in, and I'm down 2 lbs. I'm baking chocolate chip cookies for Rooster today, so my willpower will get a bit of a test...but so far, so good. :rrose:

I'm still not hitting the exercise like I should...it's harder for me to work out than to eat right. Being really good about sticking to the food plan more than 95% of the time...so that's the main thing.

Have a great day!

Elijah 11-06-2011 03:07 PM

I'm struggling to make it to the gym today after 2 days off. I have back pain that won't seem to stop. Alright, I'm done whining.

Good tidings.

sylvie 11-07-2011 11:38 AM

So, seems Mtn and i are Reunion Bound in September..
If that isn't motivation to get myself going, i don't know what is.. heh.

So, i worked the morning shift, came home and then went for a 2 hour walk - beautiful sunshiney day out there, and really burned it..

For breakfast -
1/2 cup cornflakes with 1/2 cup skim milk
1 yogurt
1 boiled egg
1 cup of red grapes

i had an orange for snack this morning just before my walk.

For lunch -
Tuna salad on 7 whole wheat crackers
2 clementines (just bought a box, LOVE these things lol)

and so far, water, water, water!
i havent been good about drinking my water the last couple of days, so really pushing myself again today, because water really helps curb appetite, great for complexion and i just feel great when i drink water, period!

Still at 59 lbs lost, i weigh in again at the end of this week - but this journey is to feel healthy , be happy & build confidence & self esteem.. i feel fantastic and that's what counts..

Cant wait to meet those of you Reunion Bound as well..
This is pretty frigging exciting, just sayin..

Ok time to start again, I found a great app on my phone that will log in what I have everyday, and I just have to be honest. I just have a few more pounds to go but I don't want to give up, which is what I did after that stomach bug got me.

Zimmeh 11-08-2011 07:57 AM

You can do it!!!
