I hear you. In my mind and in my body, I'm still officially in my mid-twenties. Except, I really do love my age, and all the things that I've learned.

One helpful factor is that I don't have any aches or pains. Nothing.

I hope I remain ache-free for a very long time...I know I'm lucky!

There was a fabulous interview of Edie Falco on Bullseye this morning. The interviewer was ticking me off a bit, he was borderline insulting in pointing out that Falco's career didn't really begin to take off until she was nearly middle-aged (in her mid-thirties! Really?).

She replied beautifully that in her opinion, her life has just gotten better and better with each decade, and that she's hitting her stride right now.

Aches and pains, bah humbug. My mom taught us all about mind over matter. She was a pro. ballerina through her 30s. Smiling through performances that I would have called "safe word" on. Her right great toe nail never did heal properly. She used to tell me stories of taping up her foot when I started in about taping ankles and wrists doing gymnastics. Made me feel like a wuss, though not her intention. Was just trying to bond.

Oh my gosh, I've have heard horror stories about the pain of ballet! Your mom was a definite trooper, cathexis.

You were a gymnast? Did you have a specialty? I can definitely see how that would be wear and tear as well.

Ballet ain't no joke. I have no idea how they do it. Props to your mom!

And very interesting that you were a gymnast. How long did you do that for?

I think I'm up for a hike this morning...what are the rest of you up to today?

Lyte 04-28-2018 12:31 PM

I woke up earlier with a headache so thus far I've only managed to reboot my start. :p I took a couple aspirin, went back to bed, just woke up and feel WAY better! Some fresh air and sun sound like a great way to go! :koolaid:

Chained Daisy 04-28-2018 01:03 PM

I`m doing some decluttering which so far has resulted in a lot of clutter.

I have 5 of the multidrawer stackable storage bin things....one is broken so I am emptying that one into the other 5. I have 10 actually BUT only these will fit neatly into my tiny studio apt! Good thing several are taller & skinnier and a couple wider and shorter to hold them on top...:)

Well, I didn't hike today, but I have to tomorrow...the pasque flowers are blooming and I really want to see them while I can. There's a prairie in a state park not far from me.

I did manage to find a new pair of sneakers, which I need badly. Hard to find anything in my size (11), but I noticed at the shoe place today, there were even a few size 12's.

Making carrot cashew curry for supper.

Hard to believe two weeks ago you's had a snowstorm and now you're able to admire the beauty of pasque flowers!
Enjoy the park and your hike..:hangloose:

Must be reasonably sane, have a healthy "sensual" appetite, live in the world of reality, be sensitive to someone "differently abled", able to cook & be cooked for, and be emotionally available....there....not too much on that proverbial "wish list", right?! :)

Good wish list Clay....I for one have resorted to looking at Amazon.com to see if they have those items in stock.

This seems like a perfectly reasonable wish list to me.

North Padre Island National Seashore is AMAZING. Anyone up for a camp out on the beach?
