hello everyone ,

just checking in . I hope you have a great day . I am freezing in Atlanta it's 39 degrees . what happened to the South ? I remember when I moved here on Christmas Eve I was walking in T shirt .I was freaking out from it since I grew up in snow , now I can't comprehend how did I survived in all that snow . I hope everyone is doing well and feeling better .

Anyway , enjoy your day and let's keep this geriatric thread moving ... lol .

Aloha from Hawai'i......a wonderful 85 today........

December arrived and with it came the colder weather....though some of you in the southern states are colder than me up north. In the 40's here and raw. Another warm up coming tomorrow.... this is my kind of winter!

Weather is making outdoor exercising easier and saving me from setting foot in the noisy gym.

Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend? Housework doesnt count as exciting :)

LadyRain 12-01-2011 02:57 PM

a very long flight to LA on saturday, hardly exciting though!

I turned 50 this year too! And I don't have the benefit of a card to make suck any less. However, I refuse to act my age. I'm still goin' like I was 35. Just gotta hide the aches and pains now..lol.

good evening lofters :)

I see so many posts talking about 50's , well they say 50's is 40's these days . I personally , believe it's the state of mind of your age . when I was in my 40's I acted like I was in late 30's . Now, in my 50's I feel older . I have my family which is my son and my grandchildren . My seven months old granddaughter can stand any men except my son . It's family joke when my son said to me . " well , I already know she will be lesbian like you " , I don't believe it , but it's nice to know he is so open to idea and would be excepting her lifestyle if happens , since he was raised by two mothers .

anyway , just droping by and I hope everyone has a great weekend .

love to all :)

I don't mind it at all, I love getting discounts! In fact, I shop at my local grocery store on a certain day of the week to get an EXTRA 15% off, and whenever I go to a restaurant (even fast food drive-thru lanes!) I ask for their "Senior Discount". I get anywhere from 10-20% off my bill!

The funniest thing that happened was back when I was in FL, and my ex-partner and I had gone to Denny's one night. I figured I would just order off the Senior menu, and then SHE said she was going to as well! (and she is not yet 50, so doesn't merit the "senior status" yet, and in fact she CRIES when she talks about how she is scared and depressed at being 49 next Feb!). She DOES like a bargain, though, so is not adverse to a white lie to get one!
