I has a sad face. :watereyes:I was in my weight/toning class last night. And I was doing my ever lovely squats. I still have a hard time lifting 60 lbs over my head :heavyweight: when I am done the 5 minute track. I feel all wimpy and stuff. My legs and back can handle that like eazy breezy....

One day I will have upper body strength. :weightlifter:

But I can now do all the tri-cep pushups required for the class (without quitting half way through laying on the mat saying "oh hell no"). :runforhills:

And I can do the bi-cep pushups without moaning. :|

I can make my Ganesh tattoo, which goes from just above my elbow crease to my clavicle bone, dance now. Not like totally do the hokey pokey or whatnot... but his belly jiggles. That still makes me :giggle:

At Gay Yoga last night he was very kind and we did a lovely hatha class. Have I told you I love Jason.:awww: He is my favorite teacher like ever. :cheerleader:

So... I guess I only has a semi sad face.

Happy day after Thanksgiving - everyone...♥
Hope you all had a wonderful day with families & loved ones.
i spent it with Mtn, and we cooked together (the very same meals) and ate together , and then later on we made a dessert together, and it was a wonderful day & night..

We made turkey breast, seasoned with rosemary & sage.. i added green onions as well...
we made our own healthy dressing, i used ww bread crumbs, celery, onion, mushrooms, etc.. delicious..
steamed carrots, green peppers & i steamed some broccoli as well for added vegetable..
cranberries..
He had gravy, i did not..
& for dessert we baked an apple, stuffed it with some raisins, a bit of brown sugar and sprinkled with cinnamon - it was delicious.. As though i was eating my own apple pie..

i love that we come up with ways that i can do things without the guilt and that he shares in those with me.. i didn't feel overstuffed and portionned really well, proud of myself..We ate the dessert later in the evening and i also bought 2 light beers to drink with him.. (i havent drank beer in years & years, LOL) but it was such fun, though it always is with Him..(least i won't fight to drink His beer on Him LOLOL)

The saddest part of this was walking in and BUYING 2 single beers and getting teased til the moment i walked out that door by the 3 guys working there, about being such a wild party girl, hahahaha..

love to You all ♥

I am only down .5lbs this week. But heck that beats up .5 lbs. I actually did not really expect to lose anything. I did not track since Friday last week. I did it all in my head... apparently my head is not as good as paper... like I didn't already know that!!

I did start tracking again this morning - on paper. And I was able to identify what triggered me to overeat on Saturday. I am getting better at this. And I overate Eritrean food, which is not really food...its more like heaven. But the injera (bread like stuff) really gets caught long term in my digestive track. Ahhhh the price one pays for heaven...

I was able to get rid of more clothes from my closet. I only have a few things that are still snug... but I am so close to blowing by where my lowest weight was 15 years ago I can hardly stand it.

So.... I will happily take .5. Be grateful for AWARENESS. And keep going, cause I am changing forever. Little by little... but definately forever.

For the past few months I have been listening to Kelly Howell 's subliminal audios. There is one called "Accelerated Weight Loss". it sound like the ocean. I always wake up around 4am, for some reason, let the dogs out (because i go to bed so early) and within 30 minutes I'm fast asleep. I play it as a loop on my iphone and it's still going at 6am when i finally get up. I am a huge fan of guided meditation and listening to audios. in fact For a year I listened to Universal Mind, a spin off of Secret. i am convinced that it helped me.

What I began to notice is small changes. they were effortless and although not perfect I do believe it helps me make better choices. I "think" different and maybe its the power of suggestion.. whatever it is it seems to work for me. I do know that it helps me fall back to sleep and if it's somehow helping me stay motivated then it's a bonus.

I stopped using artificial sweeteners and this was huge for me. I also noticed that when I went to town, my normal "cheat time" that I bypassed temptation and waited until I got home to eat. Does it work? Well, i think so. It's not a magic solution but I do notice a big difference.

also for the first time in a very long time I think about working out and I hate working out :(

Rockinonahigh 11-25-2011 03:36 PM

Working out will be some what restricted for me for the next fue days or a week or more,on saterday before last I reached to tie my shoes then got a stabing searing pain near my left shoulder blade and above it,felt like hot branding iron being pushed thrue.I went to the E R and thay didnt find any problem with my heart just said It was bursitis,it didnt get much better but did hit me a couple more times almost as bad.I went to he doc nd he said I tore a muscel in that area of my back. How he fighred that out with out checking it out in any way I dont know but he was shure quick to give me and Rx for pain pills and put me on a diffrent inflamatory med for a while. Its not a lot better but I can reach up higher than my shoulders even tho it hurts.I cant beleave tyeing my shoes did this,it is a big stretch for my emagination.I have q scedualed appointment at LSU in a couple of weeks,I will have them take a look at it.Right now im loaded up with pain patches cause the pain eds make me loopy.I do wish it would just go away, the strange poping I had is couriouly way less than it was..

Today has been a healthy day....

Breakfast was fresh strawberries and blueberries with yogurt.

Lunch....tuna salad with green olives and a few crackers.

Dinner....filet mignon, baked sweet potato and green salad.

Didn't even feel like snacking today. :)

And, to top it off, Rooster and I took the dog to the beach and walked for an hour in the sand.

Long time, no see!

Hey all - I've been reading here and there but have been mostly off of my program for almost 3 months.
Have had a 5-pound gain, which in the grand scheme of things isn't too crazy but I know that it's time to get back on track.

My knees are achy. I'm smoking again (started back at the Reunion with the intention of only smoking for the weekend) after having quit for almost 5 years. One of my first goals is to quit!

My schedule has been pretty stupid the last several months. Most of that has calmed down now that Reunion is done and planned for next year and my work has slowed down a tiny (TINY!) bit!

Another thing I really need to get back to doing is taking my lunch every day to work. I spend a lot of money eating out with the girls every day or grabbing crap from our kiosk and need to start putting more time into my food.
Had a couple of boiled egg whites this morning with pepper and a piece of leftover turkey for breakfast. Think I'll boil several more for this coming week to have for breakfast and with tuna at lunch.

Anyone else have ideas for cooking ahead or good lunch options that are quick to make at home?

JustJo 11-26-2011 01:24 PM

Saturday weigh in....down 2-1/2 lbs. :cheer:

Kind of helps make up for those 2 weeks of no change when was I traveling. :)
I'm particularly happy that Thanksgiving didn't throw me off track.
We were flexible with the menu....had potatoes and corn instead of one or the other, and had 2 slices of apple pie. Everything was homemade from scratch though...and I was conscious of going a little easy on the butter and shortening.

The biggest help is that my stomach isn't accustomed to large quantites anymore...except of salad....so I get filled up really fast.

Make a pot of rice. Store it in ziplock to keep moist. Buy or make roasted chicken. Buy organic frozen veggies.
http://www.cascadianfarm.com/product...il.aspx?cat=11
They have all these cool blends. They also have fruit.

So I get a container, add rice, add chicken and or beans, add frozen veggies. Microwave later. You can eat more and its healthy. Sometimes I eat fruit with cottage cheese or just with chicken.

Best quick lunches for me are leftovers. I buy those little divided containers from Big Lots and make a little extra for dinner and make lunches out of the rest. You can freeze them too if you don't want to have leftovers right away.

I ALWAYS have hard boiled eggs in the fridge. They are the perfect food (low carb and high protein)and I love them, plain with sea salt and pepper, in egg salad, tuna salad and on top of chef salad. But why don't you eat the yoke? New studies have shown that the old opinion about yokes and heart disease is not proven. The yoke has some of the amino acides that make the egg a perfect protein plus vit D.

When I am broke, that is what I stock up with, eggs. I lost 60 pounds eating eggs (well and a few other things too, but not much) :)

I hate the way the yellow tastes! I can sometimes stomach them in potato salad or tuna but by themselves, noooooo way!

Today is the last day of jackassery. Tomorrow marks Day 1 of a Body for Life challenge. I swear, I cannot ride the AIDS/Lifecycle again carrying this much extra weight. It's just too much work! :weightlifter:

My business coach is working with me on my "Teachability Index". Essentially that is the ability to think outside of the box. Currently he has me brushing my teeth with my non-dominant hand.

But I thought that really applies to here. We are used to eating a certain way and we have to think differently. If I'm out driving around and I don't have my next meal with me, what choices do I make? I remember watching a Biggest Loser a couple of years ago where Jillian Michaels said to the contestant that life was full of choices "CHOOSE BETTER!". Oh yeah, she was yelling. But that really stuck with me. For the next 84 days, I'm going to Choose Better!
