A hoe is a gardening implement? I'm a 100% urbanite so I wasn't sure what a hoe is but thought that it was maybe slang for a donkey. Hence, Katniss' comment that, "Every fortnight Amish men do it with hoes" caused me to step back from the screen for a while.

That said, I don't want any gardening implements close to me either - anything along the lines of kitchenware, gardening items or cleaning utensils brings me out in a rash.


On a related point for this thread, my intention to film in Little Rock in Sept is actually in some jeopardy. I've already reserved hotel and paid for registration and flights but, over recent days, have come across some logistical challenges which have now put in some doubt whether I'll be able to make it this year. Should know over the next week or two.


Either way, if I cannot attend, I'll gladly lend the Superman outfit to someone else ... but please don't let any hoes touch it as I don't want it dirtied.

You better be able to come or I shall beat you with said hoe.

I hope all the Crushers had a safe and happy Memorial Day. Ours was quiet as it usually is. We both come from military families so we don't do a lot of BBQs and shopping and all that. There were quiet remembrances in the morning and counting up blessings in the afternoon.

Still not listin' my crushes though, though I may have outed one of my crushes this weekend! ;) Ahem, I think they know who they are now!

Personally and although I'm not your crush, I'd always take the walk first and the food later.

Oh the walk first to be sure. How else do I know if my crush can keep up with me? Although truth be told I am a big fan of a banana first thing in the morning, all that potassium is good for you. Corn dogs are post-walk sustenance.

Oh definately sunrise and the earlier the better. Less people and I want to be out and about before all the good shells and sea glass have been collected. Would love to find a shark tooth but to date no luck.

Here is one of those great crush lines someone can use to share their feelings with someone they are sweet on. teehee

Of course new experiences exist! But if some folks draw the line at an occasional corn dog for breakfast (looks hard at Wrang1er and Daktari) then there is a teeny tiny possibility they might be in a rut. Life is lived outside your comfort zone and that is often where I find the most interesting people.

Actually now that I think about it....over the next week I challenge all the crushers to do one thing they normally would not do, that takes them out of their comfort zone, and report back what happens. Maybe your crush/soulmate is engaged in something you never thought of doing like a poetry reading/sport/art gallery/volunteer shelter/etc? Also have the brass to go in by yourself. Some of my best friendships (and one or two ex lovers) started with a smile and "Pardon me, is this seat taken?"

I think that is the perfect definition of a crush which is why I crush on many. I know I crushed you when I read your post about wanting to hike the Appalachian Trail by yourself. Spirited, confident and with a sense of adventure *rocks!* Teddy was "smaaaarter than the average bear, Boo Boo" when he crushed you!
