Cold faces on long walks. Crunchy colorful leaves. Candy corn. Autumn air smells so much better than Summer air. Boots and scarves. Rain. Pumpkin spice everything. Cinderella pumpkins. Rosemary's Baby, The Lost Boys, An American Werewolf in London. Shorter days. Crispy nights.
Really, just everything little thing. |

I get pretty bad seasonal depression with the cooler weather and limited sunlight, so this thread is helping me stay positive! :)
I'm looking forward to the leaves changing colors and making soups and stews. |

OH DEAR, WINTER IS COMING ! MAYBE IT WON'T BE TOO BAD...THEN AGAIN..
BEST TO BE OUTDOORS DURING COVID. CANADIANS WILL MEET THEIR FRIENDS ON SKATING RINKS. The outdoor-cave preparations have already begun. According to the CBC, patio heaters are “flying off the shelves” and retailers are struggling to keep them in stock. This is confirmed by a friend, who overcame her aversion to Amazon to buy a heating lamp when she couldn’t find one in a shop. Another friend plans to create “a nice, warm little ecosystem” in his backyard with three patio heaters, an electric blanket and a fire pit. It’s all very Dr. Zhivago, if Yuri and Lara had propane torches and extension cords. |
Things you love about autumn
Among other things I said before.
HALLOWEEN- costumes, dance, party, friends, fun. I love halloween and have quite a few trophies for homemade costumes. |

Wee Grandsons' Birthdays and
Women’s History Month in Canada. October is a BIG one in Canada. In particular, October includes Persons Day (18 October), marking the day in 1929 when the historic decision to include women in the legal definition of “persons” was handed down by Canada’s highest court of appeal. This gave women the right to be appointed to the Senate of Canada and paved the way for women's increased participation in public and political life. This month also includes International Day of the Girl (October 11). NOT TO MENTION CANADIAN THANKSGIVING ON OCT 12 |

We live in the woods and this is a farm......NO leaf raking is happening here. That said, we love watching the leaves fall AND color the ground. The house is surrounded by black walnut trees so on a windy day in the fall it is bang, bang, bang on the slate roof. We just had a metal roof company up and realized that can't happen until the main culprit is down but walnut is worth big money so....... Maybe next year.
