Hey everyone,
I wanted to give everyone an update of how I've been doing lately, and to give some very good news where My weight loss is concerned. Starting two days ago I've begun to change My eating and drinking habits, and so far I have noticed a pretty big change. I've only been drinking water an tea the last two days and when I was out earlier I was offered a can of pepsi (it was free) so I said sure ~ I couldn't believe that even after just a small amount of time that having that kind of sugar in My system would be such a shock to My system but omg it was! I looked at the can and it had like 41g of sugar and I said OMG seriously? That tiny can has more sugar in it than an ENTIRE 2L bottle! Then I only drank half the can after I couldnt handle it anymore, I tossed it in the trash. Its amazing how such a small change has already gotten Me thinking about all those years that I put that sugary crap in My body ~ that plus the junk food that I filled up on every night. I did have one small piece of chocolate tonight, one that had much less sugar in it then the can of pop did. I've had more water today then I have in the last couple of months and I can already feel a major difference. Also yesterday I went and applied for a gym membership at the local YMCA ~ because I am on disability I can apply for a discoutned rate based on My income, so hopefully by no later than the end of the week I will be able to begin working out :) The nice thing is also that My best guy buddy, Jason, is applying too so that I have a workout buddy (plus he needs to lose his beer gut lol). This will be good motivation for Me to go work out, and even when he is unable to go due to work I will still go on My own. Its time to shed this "fat suit" as I've started to call it and bring out the real Matthew ........... time to begin living and show the entire world who I truly am. Its taken Me 31 years to realize My potential in this world and I always wondered why not before? Simplest answer - I wasn't ready, until now. Atleast I am on My way to a healthier lifestyle and getting rid of this weight once and for all I guarantee that 2012 will be a breakout year for Me !!!!!!!!!!! |
Healthy food in pantry and fridge....

Good morning & happy Tuesday healthy folks!
Well, it's GREAT to see so much continued success and not to mention fresh starts again! Yep, there may be bumps in the road, but we all continue to keep getting up! Determination my friends!! I, for one, am glad that the Thanksgiving dinners are over & done with. Yes, Christmas dinners and/or parties are about to hit in full swing, but at least we can focus on healthy daily meal plans right now without all the temptation that the holiday goodies seem to bring. The Thanksgiving dinner that I cooked went very well. The two pies (and 90% of the leftovers) I had were sent home with my brother (after my one piece of pumpkin pie). THEN, we went to D's grandmothers later that afternoon. I kid you not, an entire room with just sweets! OH HELL NO! Not to mention the entire kitchen & dining room tables completely covered in home cookin'! We had dinner there, but I managed to keep the rich food on a smaller dessert plate, and had 1 cupcake. Whewwwwwww, I am glad that is over! I'm continuing to make healthier modifications to some of our favorite meals. Tonight, Taco Soup made with turkey meat and loads of veggies :) We've both been craving chicken spaghetti... yeah, I know not the healthiest thing in the world. BUT, I am going to modify it by using 2% velvetta, healthy request cream of chicken AND wheat pasta. I will make a big ol' salad FIRST, and then we'll have the spaghetti. While the soup is simmering tonight, we will be heading to the gym to get in a work out. I told her I don't care if it's only 30 minutes we are GOING! If she starts to pout, I'm grabbing my ipod & I'll go by myself. End of discussion ;) I hope that y'all have a great day and THANK YOU all again for continuing this journey with us all! |
My favorite tea was and still is even though I don't drink it anymore is Earl Grey tea from Bigelow. I would add just a teaspoon of Irish Creme non dairy creamer to it and it is Heavan on Earth... :)

Well I went into the YMCA today for My appointment and I was approved for the discounted membership! I only have to pay $20 a month so I'm very excited but nervous too. I have to go to My bank tomorrow so that I can get a direct deposit form cuz they don't take payments from cash for this plan, they take the money out from My bank account so tomorrow I can take that in and make My first payment so I can get going! I'm gonna get them to take Me on a tour of the facility so I know where everything is and then I can start whenever, which will probably be on Thursday.
I also spoke to My best bio guy buddy yesterday, Jason, and he is also going to get a membershp there so we can work out together. This is a good thing because he needs to get rid of his beer belly LOL but also so that I can have that motivation and *kick in the ass* when needed. I think this is going to be My time to shine, and I am actually very excited to get going (this from someone who hates exercise). I've been drinking nothing but water and tea for the last three days and I have to say that I've noticed a big difference already; one big one is that before I stopped drinking pepsi I noticed 2-3 days where My anxiety was through the roof and it seemed like I couldn't settle down. After stopping pepsi basically cold turkey I have had NO anxiety and I am feeling so much calmer than I did before (My stomach anxiety has even subsided a great deal). I never thought I'd like water but I actually am getting used to it ~ I truly believe that now because I feel ready to change My life that now My mind and body are ready and willing to make it happen ......... its a good feeling it really is :) P.S. I also plan on creating a youtube account chronicling My weight loss, once that is up and running I will put the link in here for everyone! |
Since the season has changed I am eating more real food insted of as many salads and really low carb foods. What im eating isnt to much over what my regulasr summer eating habits were, im still eating lots of veggies, but like im eating hot oatmeal with splenda and just a tad of skim milk in it,to night I had gumbo for dinner..its not the gumbo its the rice I have to watch but its wild rice insted of white so I only use a couple od table spoons so I know im ok with that. The holliday havent been to bad cause I only cook for my son and me..what ever I cook is ok by him.I have some wild rice left so tomorrow I will do some stirfry, cooking it myself I can keep out lots of the high sodium.I gained a pound or two but this morning I weighed and was back to 248 so where it went I have no idea but an glad its gone.U all keep doing the good things u r doing by shareing the tricks to weight loss that helps us all.:hangloose:

Good Morning Everyone,
I had oatmeal this morning and I am taking Triscuit crackers with me as a snack. The ensure/yogurt/applesauce shit is making my blood sugar go out of whack and I cannot take it anymore. I will be eating a lot of rice, peas, spaghetti and yogurt for the next few days! Have fun, Zimmeh |
[QUOTE=Cajun_dee;476487]LOL yup, I remember when I was a kid, drinking coffee at my MawMaws house. (Yes we in LA drink coffee from birth)..I would add the milk and the coffee would not change color, it actually seemed to piss the coffee off.
When someone makes strong coffee here at the Farm they say *ohhh dee is gonna love this coffee....*[/QU Only Community Coffee will do!!! Dark roast or New Orleans blend in this house!!! |

Water Buddies
I need water buddies!
I never get to my required amount of water and boy can I tell a difference when I don't. Anyone else struggle with water? I just don't like it! I can see a huge difference in my diet, my stomach, my hair and skin when I drink water, and when I don't. |

You say you don't like water, it's flavorless, but it is the fabric of your being. Like the garden, you need water to flourish. Think of it that way. I need to be doing something with my hands so I make sure there is always water at every meal, at my desk, with me in the gym. I break the rules and refill those 1.5 liter bottles. I try to get through three per day. When I do, I lose weight. I have a friend who says "Piss away that fat". I think of him when I don't want to drink any more water. It makes a difference, you know that. Make the change to make your life better. How was that? |

Hey y'all :)
It's another beautiful, crisp day here in Texas... which I adore because it makes me wanna get moving! So, taco soup last night was yummy! I guess I made a big ol' pot, because we have tons leftover. Good thing, because I didn't feel like cooking dinner tonight ;) So, we are gonna make a side salad and have leftover soup tonight. Meals so far for today... Breakfast: Special K with berries cereal & 2% milk a banana a cup of coffee with a splash of eggnog creamer (gotta love the holiday flavors) Lunch: chicken pita (with grilled chicken & onions, lettuce, tomato & a pinch of WW shredded cheddar cheese) Snacks: yogurt apple and/or orange Question for y'all...since we are talking fitness, what is your average workout look like? For me, I like to do a 10 minute warmup on the treadmill and then switch to 20 minutes on the elipitical. Then I do 20 minutes on the machines for resistance training. I know Candace does the stationary bike and loves it. Is there a piece of equipment, a work out video, fitness game on the Wii or method to your madness you wanna share? |
