Hope everyone's having a good day...I took the dog to the groomer (Scoote has been calling him "ass breath" again....so he needed it), lubricated the garage door (which has been sticking halfway up and being generally annoying), went grocery shopping, and am slow cooking brisket for dinner....OH...and I worked too :)

Wow you are a multi-tasker!! I went to the grocery store and the craft store for knitting needles bought bamboo ones the lady said and they were expensive not the metal kind couldn't find them..lol I was looking and looking and found yarn but no needles. NIce that the dog got a spa day my dogs need it too. What's a brisket? Some sort of meat I think Jews eat that on special occasions. Tonight we get potato pancakes and donuts which I forgot to get but will get some later on!! HOpe everyone is having a nice day today its going to get cold tomorrow I think I will stay in and be cozy up with a hot chocolate tomorrow before knitting!!

I slow cook it in the oven with a little olive oil, worchestershire sauce, salt, pepper and beef stock. At 300 degrees it takes about an hour a pound to be tender.

Can you put it in a crock pot, its very Jewish to have brisket in the home...but not for Chanukah latkes and donuts!! Very fattening holiday!!

Yes a crock pot will work too, but it takes a long time....you'll need to put it on first thing in the morning if you want it for dinner.

If I hang around this thread much longer I am going to gain a lot of weight! My mouth is watering looking at that brisket!!!

How did you do on your lab final was it all slides or something else?? have a nice night everyone!!

Zimmeh 12-01-2010 07:12 PM

It was a mix of written questions and 40 multiple choice questions. I won't know my grade until probably tomorrow, which stinks. I want to know if I get to keep my A or if I am going to end up with a B...

Have a good night,

Zimmy

I can FedEx the rest of them to you and the family. If they stay in my kitchen any longer, they won't survive the night, hehe...

How was your day?

Toooo funny....but here they wouldn't last an hour! :giggle:

Today was good....didn't get as much done for work as I should have, but made some progress...so that's the main thing. :) Poor Scoote's the one who had a rough day (seems like more often than not anymore).

Now it's time to relax....dinner done, dishwasher running, kittens wrestling on the floor....ahhhhhhhhh.

What's next for you with school?

Zimmeh 12-01-2010 07:27 PM

In January, I am scheduled to take, Spanish I with lab; Constitutional Law; Americah History and Human Nutrition. I stopped by my mom's house today on my way to school and she got a baby Shih Tzu puppy. He was negelected and abandoned so he is enjoying being spoiled at her house. I picked him up and whatever flea medicine they are using on him caused me to break out, but he is adorable and I will be fine.

How are the kitties doing? How is the new house coming along?

Have a good night,

Zimmy

Heya Kats,

I found out today about my niece's mom. The lady who was drinking and driving was pregnant and went into labor when she hit the building. My niece's mom has a cracked tailbone, the cartilage in her lower vertebrae was damaged and she might have a broken arm. She is going to watch my niece in the Christmas parade on Saturday in a wheelchair and apparently the woman who hit her, doesn't have insurance. So all of the medical bills will have to be paid my niece's mom, which stinks. I am hoping the drunk woman's baby is ok, no one knows anything him/her.

Have a good night,

Zimmy

Sounds like you are gonna be a busy girl! :)

:bringcoffee: Good morning everyone! I know it's only Thursday, but it feels like it should be Friday....

I had a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and coffee....then broke out the chocolate biscotti after a frustrating trip to try to get my driver's license...so I'm leaving it all out and you can take your pick! :eating: I've got eggs, oatmeal and fruit around here too if anyone wants to actually eat healthy. :giggle:

The kitties are doing well....one of the big cats (Banshee) has accepted the little ones, but my Mabel (aka The Princess) is still not amused. She's not hiding outside anymore, but if they get in her face she still smacks them. Luckily, it doesn't seem to bother the kittens at all....they just look at her like "what's your problem?"

I'm getting ready for a conference call, then actually have to go back to the Driver's License office.....grrrrrrrrrr. Luckily I actually managed to find the paperwork that will (hopefully) appease their bureaucratic sensibilities (crossing fingers).

Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug: ...and :lips: to you sweetie...thanks for listening to me vent!

Oh this is terrible news all the way around!!!!! I hope that she recovers quickly and fully!!!!! Maybe your friend could find out if the woman was driving her own car. If she was driving a loaned vehicle the owner could have insurance and they would be liable! Or perhaps the place where she was drinking; anyone who serves someone who gets drunk and behind the wheel can be held liable. If it was a bar all the better. But even if it was in another person's house they can be held liable for letting a drunk person get behind the wheel. Desperately thinking of ways for your friend to recup her losses!!!
I feel so sorry about that baby! What a way to come into the world; drunk through not fault of your own and being in an accident too!

Do you feel good about the test? Crossing fingers!!!

katsarecool 12-02-2010 09:37 AM

Hey Jo good luck today!!! and are there any left over bagels? Sure sounds delicious!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

MountainStar 12-02-2010 10:15 AM

Hey everyone :) Tis I...the stranger lol. I've been busy here looking for work...trying to send out at least 5 or more resumes per day in hopes of obtaining new work. I lost my job when I got sick and was in the hospital :(

Off to see my favorite psychic later today...she is amazing and may be getting her own show on TLC. I am at such a cross road and feel the need for some direction.

On a positive side, my son is coming here for Christmas and I am excited about that. Going to put up the tree on Saturday followed by coffee night in Calgary. There is a group of us that get together monthly for coffee - it's a nice alternative to the bars...and I have made a few friends from coffee night.

Zimmy, so sorry to hear about the accident. I don't even know what are the right words to say. I will keep them in my prayers.

Thanks for breakfast...I'm off to my new fave website...monster.ca ;)
