I want to watch Get Out. I don't usually like that genre but I saw Oprah talking about it and thought it looked interesting.

Evening 2007

stars: Claire Danes Meryl Streep Glenn Close Mamie Gummer

Drifting in and out of consciousness, Ann Grant Lord (Vanessa Redgrave) calls forth memories of her one true love. As a young woman, she met Harris at her best friend's wedding and had a brief affair. As Ann recalls the bittersweet time in her life, her daughters (Toni Collette, Natasha Richardson) try to come to terms with her imminent death.

I had never seen this movie before and even tho most of it is told in flashbacks I rather enjoyed it.........:movieguy:

I'm planning on going to the drive-in tonight. This is opening weekend. Avengers Infinity War and Black Panther are playing. It's cold though so that may be a determining factor.

A Kid Like Jake........

Leave No Trace............

A father and daughter live a perfect but mysterious existence in Forest Park, a beautiful nature reserve near Portland, Ore., rarely making contact with the world. But when a small mistake tips them off to authorities, they are sent on an increasingly erratic journey in search of a place to call their own.

Sidebar: I have NOT yet seen this movie but every single review I have come across of it, has been glowing! Even rotten tomatoes has given it 100%! I know the book it's based on My Abandonment subject matter didn't thrill or grab me at first but having gone back and re-read it, I'm now looking forward to seeing how the movie compares!

WHITNEY...

Whitney Houston broke more music industry records than any other female singer in history. She was the only artist to chart seven consecutive U.S. No. 1 singles. She also starred in several blockbuster movies before her brilliant career gave way to erratic behavior, scandals and death at age 48. The documentary feature Whitney is an intimate, unflinching portrait of Houston and her family that probes beyond familiar tabloid headlines and sheds new light on the spellbinding trajectory of Houston’s life. Using never-before-seen archival footage, exclusive demo recordings, rare performances, audio archives and original interviews with the people who knew her best, Oscar®-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald unravels the mystery behind “The Voice,” who thrilled millions even as she struggled to make peace with her own troubled past.

Mr. Announcer Voice is not right for this movie but I think I would like it.

The Irishman, John Wick 3 Parabellum & SNL

Well, I've seen The Irishman, and was ... bored, totally irrevocably bored... I know the reviews are very good and many people liked it, and well, idk what to say. DeNiro would open his mouth, and mouth a few small phrases, and that was it, and he looked like death warmed over.

I have also recently seen John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, and I liked it better than The Irishman, but after an hour of non-stop killing (hey, it's only ketchup!), I was waiting for some plot line, something to hang onto... but no, just more killing, and more killing, and more killing, and the film was really long. And,

(SPOILER ALERT....

.... I think there will be sequel...) lol

I needed a laugh, so I watched SNL with Eddie Murphy (which I had taped from TV), too funny, that guy cracks me up.... I laughed so hard when he played "Buckwheat" on SNL's version of The Masked Singer, and sang that well-known Latin Xmas song that we all know (originally sung by Jose Feliciano)... "Aneese Nameena". Just imagine Eddie singing this again and again "Aneese Nameena" "Aneese Nameena" "Aneese Nameena" :)

:movieguy:

I too saw the Irishman twice in fact and while I wasn't bored I did think Pacino was horribly miscasted as Hoffa.

SPOILER DON'T READ FARTHER...

I wasn't happy with the ending. Watching someone stumbling around and falling down, for someone at my age, that's right around the corner....
Using the ending to tie up all the loose ends, that I understood.....:hangloose:

This flick is a study in desperation. I was on the edge of my seat relating to the subject matter. If you have serious childhood abandonment issues, this film probably would not be the best choice for Saturday night entertainment.
If you have worked through your childhood trauma, and have someone supportive to see this movie with.
