Forgot to add this to my previous past...
When things get too overwhelming i drive up to the mountains for some meditation time atop Waterrock Knob or Richland Balsam (pics of both are in my gallery) - the two highest places along the Blue Ridge Parkway...:ohm: |
Watching all the beautiful bluebirds [from my porch and window] who have called our yard and trees home. This is the first time in my life that bluebirds have chosen to nest so close. It's a thrill to watch them and a special treat to see their flash of color and watch their antics (even if it means my car has birdie poop all over it).
Sitting hear enjoying a late breakfast while listening to all the birdies.... music to my ears. |

i miss Blue Jays, Bluebirds and hummingbirds - won't put out a hummingbird feeder because it attracts yellow jackets, wasps, bees etc. and i am deathly allergic to them... |
peace
floating on the bay in the sailboat and listening to the water against the boat....everything wrong kinda gets made right...
|
This may sound totally silly & redundant......but PEACE gives me peace.....
Just knowing that in spite of it all, everything's going to be ok.....a quiet Sunday morning....Ottmar Liebert playing in the background....a wonderful cup of coffee....and painting......knowing I am loved.....knowing I am LIKED.....all of those things give me peace. Life is good. |
peace... i try to make my own peace... until my own mind gets in the way. riding up the mountain up to Lake Lure for the day, or week, or.... an 8 year old boy with lots of swagga, laying in my lap.. unbelievable peace. my writing, even the dark ones give me peace. having the house to myself, and surrounding myself with loud music. the company of someone exquisite... beyond peaceful. the love of my best friend and sistah gives me unconditional peace. i find peace when i fly... then drop deep. |
Peace....
That my peace always begins with me.... My relationship with my wife...... Hearing the sounds of nature around us.......The geese flying overhead.....The crickets in the evening.... Love coming from our dearest friends..... |
Hearing the kids in the pool next door screaming marrrrrcooooo polooooooooo.
Confirming that my favorite time of year has finally arrived. Being on the water The sound of the motor at top speed Hearing the wake pounding against the bow Being surrounded by the beautiful Gulf waters |

I just asked Blade "what is a Red-shouldered Hawk? I've heard of Red-Tailed Hawk....but Miss Scarlett says we have Red-shouldered Hawks here? his response: :eyebrow: :seconddoh: She must'a been looking at them upside down. |

By the time they are five days old, nestling Red-shouldered Hawks can shoot their feces over the edge of their nest. |

stark white linen canvas
Squeezing a strip of color onto a palette swiping a clean sable brush through it that first stroke on a blank canvas somewhere from within an image a painting is born |
Deep peace givers. . .
Acceptance
Releasing desire Calm knowledge that it all ends one day |
Giving a good spanking and all that juicy stuff

The ocean... which I haven't seen for far too long. Will be rectifying that soon!
