Also hate: Steve Newlin, all of the authority people, Bill, Arlene, Sookie, Ginger and that bad dye job new sheriff of area five dude.

Still love: Sam, Tara, Andy, and Pam. In that order.

I hate Steve Newlin, Bill, a bunch I don't know their names, the smoke monster, Lilith and faerie story lines.

I like Pam, Jessica, kind of still like Eric but the whole season, in general, sucks.

I am just looking forward to Boardwalk Empire.

Martina 08-18-2012 10:45 PM

I loved Pam's reaction when Tara took out the new Sheriff.

Jason crying because Hoyt forgot him. Awwww.

I am surprised that they killed off the techy vampire. I thought she was interesting. At least more interesting than Salome. Is it me or the writing or the actress? But she's bad.

I liked the scene with the professor. I can't remember the details. Just thought it was mildly amusing.

I remembered so little of the episode that I went over to TWoP to read the forum.

There's talk about what Russell's accent means. More about his Nazi days or something else?

They said that, based on her reaction to Russell's desire to get fae blood however, Salome has some faery connection or fairy-related secret. I didn't notice that.

There is general appreciation for Tara taking the Vamp Sheriff's head and her "I don't know nothing about birthing no vampire babies" comment. I did not think the latter was funny. It snapped me out of my suspension of disbelief.

Lots of folks were also moved by Jason's sadness at losing Hoyt.

There was lots of "is he or isn't he?" talk about Bill, but I am so bored by the whole plot that I couldn't even read about it.

Apparently, the reason techy vampire got staked is that the actress got a better job on another show.

Lots of talk about how they can't seem to hide Anna Pacquin's pregnancy.

Lots of cheering that there was no Ifrit or Terry this episode.

Someone talked about how nice the scene was with Lafayette cooking dinner for Andy and Holly. It was a nice scene. Andy telling Lafayette he loved him. LOL. Loving Andy this season. And Lafayette.

People are confused and bored by the hallucinations of Lillith and Godric. I agree.

If this whole Sookie belongs to some evil vampire thing does not get interesting or is resolved stupidly and quickly, I will be annoyed.

Some of those folks over on Televisionwithoutpity need to get a life.

Martina 08-18-2012 10:50 PM

last week's -- the one i just wrote about -- is the last episode i will get to see prolly unless i catch up my last weekend up north next weekend (where there is cable). But i prolly won't have time.

You all must fill me in on these last two episodes.

I actually loved that whole scene. And I think Pam liked what Tara did, no matter what she says in her outloud voice.

I really don't get why everybody hates Tara so much. While I don't care much for the "Tara is a vampire now" storyline...I LOVE Tara. I hope when the show is over we get to see more of Rutina Wesley in other projects - there's just something about her that I really like. A lot.

I really liked Tina Majorino when she was on Big Love, so I was really excited to see her on TB. I'm mortified that she was killed off. What will she be doing next?

(I hate Salome. I hate the whole storyline. I want her and it to go away.)

Quote:

I think the accent was about dropping the modern fancypants accent pretence because it made sense as part of his rant about how old he is. I don't think there's anything more than that to read into it, honestly.

That wouldn't surprise me. I do think that the "blood of Lilith" that got everybody so drunk has got to be spiked with faerie blood or something - we remember how drunk Eric got off of Sookie's blood in the past and that faerie blood has hallucinogenic properties.

Love Terry. Hate the Ifrit storyline.

pajama 08-19-2012 08:04 PM

WHY do I even watch this any more?!?

Okay, Pam's red dress that laced up the back tonight. grrrrrr But her hair....not so much.

Everything else.......lame and annoying.

Plus.....the first fairy bearing female isn't Sookie, it's her cousin Haley. If you're going to f-ing fabricate a stupid ass story line then make sure it ties in with what you've already built. It wouldn't have been that bad if they had left out the part THIS VERY SEASON that her cousin was at the strip club WITH HER CHILD. They could have played it off that Haley was baren or something.

I swear to god if Dexter ends up being this stupid next season I'm cancelling my premium channel subscription. I'm worried about Dexter because I'm sure he's not going to kill Debra (no matter what the trailers allude to). And if Debra lives and knows, she's just going to become an even more ignorant character that I can't bare to watch!

*Anya* 08-19-2012 08:29 PM

When the head fairy ( or whatever the heck her title was) came out dancing (or whatever the heck that was); it was so lame, I laughed out loud.

OMFG.

The JD 08-19-2012 09:12 PM

As much as I'm over the fairies, my favorite line of the episode came out of the conversation between Andy and Maurella, the fairy that Andy impregnated:

Maurella: Did you or didn't you swear upon the light?!

Andy: All I know is that your finger was lit up and I touched it.

The JD 08-27-2012 05:26 PM

So...Season Finale...um... yeah. Where to start. Fairies having orgasms while birthing quadruplets, Jason discussing vampire annihilation schemes with his dead parents, Pam and Tara celebrating Pam's rescue with a 7 second full mouth kiss while Jessica grins and yells, "I KNEW it!" There's just no predicting where this show is going.

I'd like to say we can at least be sure that Russell Edgington is truly dead, but after seeing Bill rise back up out of a pool of his own blood, who's to say Russell won't do the same? Or maybe Bill now has the power to bring him back, since he's now the male Lilith/uber demon god/Super Evil Vampire. Really, what ARE the rules of this show now??

My favorite scenes took place at Merlotte's bar- not just because Maurella's orgasm/delivery was so outrageously over-the-top and made for one of the best comic scenes of the season... but because Lafayette with his Cajun margaritas was actually a knowing wink to the audience, that the writers know they're being outrageous and ridiculous in their subplots and want to acknowledge that with us.

So hear me out on this: Lafayette's only purpose in the finale was to be the spectator...and not just an accidental spectator, but a spectator with margarita in hand, ready and hoping to be entertained- just as I am every Sunday night when I sit down to watch True Blood (sans margarita, though one might help). And as things progress quickly from bizarre to "WTF, her light broke?!?", there was Lafayette (and Arlene and Jane Bodehouse) doing nothing but watching and saying all the shit that I keep thinking during the show. Example: Jane Bodehouse with her drunken confused laughter, exclaiming, "I don't understand what's happennninnnng...!" Neither do I, Jane, neither do IIIIII!!

Another example: Lafayette and Jane at the bar, watching Steve Newlin on TV (just as we all were)...and when Steve pukes up a little blood and turns into Luna, Lafayette turns to Jane Bodehouse and deadpans, "Well, I didn't see *that* coming." I might have said the same thing, except oddly enough, I did see it coming.

This is my least favorite season so far, but now that I've been let in on the joke, I find I can cut the writers a little bit more slack.

Thanks and good luck in your next endeavor, Alan Ball.

~The fairy giving birth was hilarious. The three sitting at the bar watching with cocktails in hand was awesome.

~I'm glad Russell is gone. He was such a pain in the ass.

~The kiss between Tara and Pam was really hot. :)

I laughed my butt off when Bill died. But then he came back.

I screamed and cussed when Tara kissed Pam. I just don't like Tara. Not even a little bit. And to have someone I adore (Pam) look like they are entering into a relationship with her just killed me.

Jason's parents were totally wrong. I just don't think they were intolerant and quite so redneck. Probably from what little I know of them from the books....but that's just not what I pictured.

Sam flying down Rosalyn's throat and then morphing was freakin' AWESOME!

The fairy delivery really was hilarious!

I'm curious to see the extent of Bill's new powers.:vampire:

Martina 08-26-2013 02:11 AM

OK, season's over. What did you think?

***** SPOILERS *************

Full frontal Eric was hot, no pun intended.

I was unimpressed with the Warlow plot in general. Bored really.

Terry's funeral was awesome.

Jason's D/s relationship should have been hotter than it was. But I love Jason.

Jessica has been on a long strange trip, but it's been interesting when so little else was.

I never thought I'd say this, but they have been over-doing it with Sheriff Andy's awesome reaction shots. It's almost contrived now.

Eric looking down at the recently ravished (for his blood) Jason and saying to him, "Jason Stackhouse . . . looking good." Damn, that was hot.

Less Tara . . . thank the gods. Less Pam . . . *pout*

Sam's new girlfriend . . . whiny and annoying. Sam telling Sookie basically to go take a flying leap . . . priceless.

Eric crying over his dying sister . . . awwwww. *sniffle* (sincere sniffle)

Having the vampires and humans have to pair up like reluctant prom dates -- pretty funny.

Tara and her mom's reconciliation . . . twisted but effective

Sarah Newlin . . . worked sometimes and not other times. When it worked, great camp.

Steve Newlin's death . . . cool.

Governor Burrell was a good nemesis. Vamp Camp was OK. It was all a little True Blood Lite.

I have hardly mentioned Bill and Sookie because, well, who cares?

Anyone else get the weird feeling Tara's mom has Hep V and is trying to pass it on? I didn't trust the reconciliation at ALL.

Not me. The show's teasers promised a lead character would die, and I was really hoping it would be Bill. Damn.

always2late 08-26-2013 10:07 PM

I'm wondering if next season is going to begin by telling us that the end of this season was a dream sequence. Am I the only one that felt the entire "Six months later" developments just didn't make any sense?

SirLucian 08-27-2013 03:07 AM

Is it

just Me or do you feel like biting someone at the end of every show?

Never mind it is prolly just Me

No, you are not the only one!

I used to eagerly wait every June for it to come back on.

Last season, it began to be difficult for me to watch and this season: I gave up.

I just could not watch it anymore.

I loved the first 3-4 seasons but then...

Not.

I miss how it was when things made more sense (in Vampire land anyway) and before Fairyland...

...IMHO, of course.

Queenie 08-27-2013 10:04 AM

Okay, I do love True Blood. Or I did love True Blood.... Just what the F!? The show needs to END now! The last three seasons sucked. And I am not making a pun! I don't know what its even still on the air. The first few seasons were fab. But once that bloody witch storyline happened it all went down hill. And why did hbo only do 10 episodes this year? This season just seemed short and all rather pointless.

American horror story anyone?

Duchess 09-05-2013 10:35 PM

I love the earlier seasons more too, but I hate it's not coming back.:seeingstars:
