Had an easy-peasy ride this morning while listening to an audio book and looking out the window at a cloudy sky.
Had some nice but slower rides last week. Rode 42 miles for 3hr 13min Completed 520 arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Had a good cardio ride this morning. Rode 7 miles in 31.5 minutes while listening to music and watching a riding bike tour online. Last weeks numbers were:
Rode 41.7 miles in 2hrs 52mins 500 arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Had a good ride this morning while watching a bike tour through Switzerland on the internets and listening to a music playlist. Clocked in 6.4 miles in 30 minutes. That's pretty good. Could do better, but could do worse. Last weeks numbers were low:
Rode 32.2 miles in 2.73 hours Completed 390 arm rolls Earlier this week I decided to increase the circle in my arm rolls and ended up pulling my back out of whack from overdoing it! It was a struggle, but I thought I was doing okay. I didn't feel the pain till the next day. Thank goodness it only lasted for a couple days and I'm better now. Have gone back to doing smaller circles. :) Will slowly increase the circle size over the next couple weeks. Maybe. :fastcycling: |
Had another good ride this morning while listening to some Motown tunes. Had a hard time finding my groove, but it all came together once I turned off the news and plugged into a playlist. Rode 6.5 miles in 31 minutes. Last weeks numbers were:
Rode 34.1 miles in 2 hrs 33 mins Completed 180 arm rolls I have increased the circle size in my arm rolls but am not able to accomplish more than 50 rolls in one sitting. Big difference from doing the smaller arm rolls. LOL. :fastcycling: |
Had an okay ride this morning. Rode 6.4 miles in 30 minutes but it was a struggle. Last week I ate a lot of food that wasn't good for my arthritis, but it was good and comforting food that served a purpose.
Last week's numbers are: Rode 38.5 miles in 3hrs 4mins Completed 200 arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Rode 38.5 miles in right around 3 hours? That's fantastic! I don't think I could crawl 3 miles even if given all day.
It's sobering realizing just how quickly it is before that old saying move it or lose it starts to ring true. Today I did 4 half sit ups, 10 half push ups, then spent a couple hours on my feet moving heavy boxes full of canned goods around. |
It's been a while since I reported in so here goes:

I do hope to pick it up some more, though. |
Had a really good ride this morning. Rode 7 miles in 30mins 28 seconds while watching bike riders cruise through Spain. Closed my ride with Floetic by Floetry and it was just perfect.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s716EpraBB4 Numbers for the last 7 days including today are: Rode 23.1 miles in 1hrs 50mins Had some morning appts and didn't exercise as much as planned but there's always next week. :fastcycling: |

I'm super, super proud of this workout! I set a goal and completed it. I know the calorie counts are not accurate but I still use them as a measuring tool of where I am and how well I'm doing. I wondered, if I went all out for the full hour plus cooldown, if I could make 600 calories and I did. By the skin of my teeth but it still counts and I worked hard for it. I post my pace so you can see the obvious difference between this one and all of my previous ones plus the environmental tally for powering a lightbulb is the highest I've ever gotten it. All that and at the highest resistance level possible on the elliptical the whole time. Like I said, I'm super proud of this one. 6/2 elliptical: 121 cal, .82 mi, 14:59 min, 18:13 pace, lvl 12, 1 minute of lightbulb time 30 minutes of personal training focusing on upper body and core elliptical: 244 cal, 1.73 mi, 30:01 min, 17:17 pace, lvl 12, burned 6 lightbulb minutes I should have gone last night too but I was feeling lazy. I'm struggling with motivation, honestly. Same thing today. |
Had a great ride this morning. Clocked in 7.4 miles in 30m 20s. Watched a Garmin biking ride video showing bikers going through the Italian Alps. Stunningly beautiful while listening to the Ohio Players and Shari Addison.
Completed 40 large-circle arm rolls without any problems or pain. :fastcycling: |
Had a good ride this morning while watching another biking video through the Italian Alps and listening to the late saxophonist, Michael Brecker. Again I had a hard time finding my groove, and again it all came together once I turned off the news and plugged into some music. Rode 6.4 miles in 31 minutes 38 seconds. Last weeks numbers, including today, are:
Rode 43.7 miles in 3.4 hours Completed 240 arm rolls One of the things I've come to like about riding is that I never know what kind of ride I'll have till I get into it no matter what my intentions are. I may plan on taking it easy and end up having an intense ride or I may plan on having a good cardio ride and just end up having an easy-peasy ride. Doesn't make much difference since my goal is to ride and move regardless of the intensity. :fastcycling: |
Had a nice ride this morning while watching bike riders in France. Rode 6.5 miles in 30 minutes and 3 seconds. This week's numbers, including today, are:
– Rode 41.5 miles in 3 hours and 11 minutes – Completed 285 arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Had another nice ride this morning while watching bike riders in a neighborhood. Lots of views of train tracks, graffiti, and river beds. Rode 6 miles in 30 minutes and 9 seconds. This week's numbers, including today, are:
Rode 37.2 miles in 3 hours 240 arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Had an okay ride this morning while watching one of the morning chat shows. Rode 5.5 miles in 30 minutes. That's the best I've done this week. It's hard for me to ride when I'm unusually sad. I understand. I tend to shut down extreme feelings, or at least I try to. Unfortunately, almost everything else shuts down too.
But something that surprised me is finding that I can't ride while listening or watching funny comedy skits. A week or so ago I was listening to Richard Pryor and had to get off the bike. These were jokes I've heard hundreds of times and I wasn't even laughing very hard, but laughing at all affected my ride and I just couldn't go on. Go figger. :fastcycling: |
Had an okay ride this morning while watching a biking video and listening to the news. Rode 5.6 miles in 30 minutes and 4 seconds. This week's numbers, including today, are:
Rode 32 miles in 2 hours 24 mins :fastcycling: |
6/7
Elliptical: 121 cal, .82 mi, 14:59 min, 18:13 pace, level 12 followed by 30 minutes of personal training and then another bout on the elliptical: 244 cal, 1.73 mi, 30:01 min, 17:17 pace, level 12. 6/9 Elliptical: 64 cal, .46 mi, 9:00 min, 19:29 pace, level 12 followed by 30 minutes of personal training and then round two on the elliptical: 229 cal, 1.69 mi, 30:00 min, 17:42 pace, level 12. 6/16 Elliptical: 118 cal, .92 mi, 18:01 min, 19:34 pace, level 12 followed by 30 minutes of personal training and then we rinse, lather and repeat on the elliptical: 86 cal, .64 mi, 12:00 min, 18:50 pace, level 12. I have a missing documentation for one workout but it's basically the same as what I've listed so far. 6/28 Elliptical: 171 cal, 1.30 mi, 23:01 min, 17:44 pace, level 12 followed by 30 minutes of personal training and more elliptical: 165 cal, 1.35 mi, 25:00 min, 18:28 pace, level 12. 7/1 Elliptical: 296 cal, 2.20 mi, 35:00 min, 15:53 pace, level 13. I used a different program to break up the monotony. 7/2 Elliptical: 181 cal, 1.54 mi, 25:00 min, 16:13 pace, level 10. New program still. Then, I hopped on the water rower but there's something wonky with it. The pull strap was making noises like it needed to be lubricated and two of the measurements was not showing up on the screen. Water rower: 40 stroke rate, 12.0 intensity (mph), 1.1 miles and 6 min total. The sound of the belt was too annoying to stay on it any longer. 7/3 Elliptical: 141 cal, 1.27 mi, 20:00 min, 15:42 pace, level 11 followed by approximately 45 min of circuit training and then more elliptical: 170 cal, 1.44 mi, 25:00 min, 17:23 pace, level 11. I've gone back to my 6 day a week regimen. It is fine so far. |
Got on the bike then changed my mind and got off. Didn't even want to clock in a mile. Sometimes I have days like this. This is one of them. This week's numbers are:
Rode 18.6 miles in 99 minutes :fastcycling: |
7/4
Elliptical: 314 cal, 2.37 mi, 35:00 min, 14:46 pace, level 13 and 32 minutes of lighting that imaginary bulb so you know I was working hard. Good workout! 7/7 Elliptical: 118 cal, 1.10 mi, 15:00 min, 13:36 pace, level 10, 3 minutes lighting that imaginary bulb. 30 minutes of personal training Elliptical: 306 cal, 2.29 mi, 35:00 min, 15:17 pace, level 13, 20 minutes of power for an imaginary lightbulb 7/9 Elliptical: 310 cal, 2.50 mi, 45:00 min, 18:00 pace, level 12, 7 minutes of imaginary juice for that darn lightbulb |
Had an okay ride while listening to Scott Simon. Just wasn't into the ride this morning. Gave up after 15 minutes. Rode 2.9 miles in 15 minutes. This week's numbers are:
Rode in 25.5 miles in 2 hours 5 minutes Completed 220 small-circle arm rolls Didn't want to tackle the large-circle arm rolls this week so I did what I knew I could managethe small-circle rolls. :fastcycling: |
Had a good ride this morning while watching EPIX. Rode 6.5 miles in 30m 13s.
Let's see if I can keep it up next week. If not, then that's okay, too. :fastcycling: |
Had a "gave up" ride this morning. Rode 2.8 miles in 15 minutes. Bees that way some days. This week's numbers are:
Rode 32 miles in 2 hrs 7 mins :fastcycling: |
Had a good ride this morning and some okay rides this week.
Haven't been enjoying my rides lately. So I made an adjustment to one goal and it made a difference. Instead of aiming to ride 30-minute/6 miles, I've returned to my 5-mile goal that can be completed in any amount of time. It's the small shift I needed to make riding more enjoyable. I can always increase the time or milage later. This week's numbers, including today are: Rode 29.2 miles in 2 hrs 25 minutes 65 arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Had a nice ride this morning. Clocked in 5 miles in 23 minutes while listening to a podcast and watching a garmin video with the volume down.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrY3je1gMMo This weeks numbers are: 28.7 miles in 2 hrs 19 minutes :fastcycling: |
Nice ride on my bike this morning while listening to a San Diego radio station playing old-school Motown hits (The Way You Do The Things You Do). I miss Southern Cali and it helps when I listen to SoCal radio stations.
This week's numbers are: Rode 35.6 miles in 2 hrs 20min (140 minutes and 6 seconds) Didn't do one arm roll. There's always next week. :fastcycling: |
Had an okay ride this morning. Pulled a muscle in my upper hip a few days ago. It's gotten better, but am still not up to par. I expect to be at my best in a week or so. Takes a little time to fully heal.
Clocked in 4.3 miles in 22 minutes and here are my numbers for the last 7 days: Rode 27.7 miles in 2hrs 14mins 80 large circle arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Haven't rode in days because of a UTI but saw a nurse yesterday and am already better. Thank goodness.
I seldom take long breaks from riding because I worry that I might not ever want to get back on the bike if I'm away too long, but that hasn't happened yet. Had a nice ride this morning while watching a nighttime virtual walking tour of downtown Detroit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUsm31Ow_8E This morning I rode 4 miles in less than 22 mins. It's good being back on the bike. :fastcycling: |
Had a good ride this morning while watching the Queen's procession on Sky Live News on Pluto. What a difference between the US and the UK coverage. We cannot let a second go by without filling it with chatter. The UK, on the other hand, has no problem with moments of silence. I know, complaints, complaints.
Anyway, I'm feelin' like I'm back in the saddle after not riding for awhile and it feels good. Rode 5 miles in 24.5 minutes. Could do better, but could do a lot worse. :fastcycling: |
Had an okay ride this morning while the sun was rising and watching a bike tour through NYC. I wasn't really into the ride this morning but stuck with it. This week's numbers are:
rode 28.2 miles in 1hr 32 mind completed 110 large-circle arm rolls :fastcycling: |
Had a good ride this morning while listening to the Stones, Mongo Santamaria, and Salt-N-Pepa who flipped the script with this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vaN01VLYSQ I clocked in 5 miles in 22 minutes 5 seconds. Current goal is to ride 5 miles in less than 22 minutes. I should reach that goal by the end of the week (best laid plans and all that jazz comes to mind). :fastcycling: It's all about the music this morning. |
I'm catching up . . .
Hello exercisers :balloon:
With all the changes I have weathered (work wise and in my personal life), I still get a lot of walking in during the days I work. At work, it's like an ER: Feast or Famine (client wise). Sometimes at work, depending on how busy we are, I am gently surprised by how many miles I have logged. One day, a few weeks ago, back in late August, we were so busy that I logged slightly over 9 miles in steps. I was like, "wow, how did I ever do that?", lol. On my days off, I usually get some walking in and some other types of body exercise when I dust the house down or sweep and mop or vacuum the rugs. I have to say, my partner loves to hold me and dance with me at home. And his dance moves surprise me and leave me breathless, often times, lol. Having mobility issues and trusting my partner when he dances me across the floors is helping me to overcome some of my trust issues. Like trusting that I won't fall, when I have fallen several times this year already. Anyway.... I am keeping with trust building skills and keeping up with demands on my health that is sometimes daunting. Keeping up with you all, when I can, --K. :rrose: |
Good on you with the walking and dancing, Katzchen. I envy you being able to walk and dance. I hope to be able to after I get knee surgery. In the meantime I'll keep going on my bike.
Had a good ride this morning. Clocked in 5 miles in 21m 35s. Maybe I'll keep this up and maybe I won't. This works for now. It was a good ride while listening to music and riding through Italy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDXppLLg_-w |
I took a client to dialysis today. Since we are not allowed to go into the treatment room I decided to walk around the hospital campus. It is a crisp fall day - any colder and I would have needed a coat. It was lovely!
|
J is in better shape but fatter. I weigh less but huff and puff more than she does. If it isn't one thing it's another. So we're walking. Once a week, at the park forcing ourselves, another day strolling through the farmers market or hitting the stores browsing indoors. The third day of the week we just get up and about. Maybe go to lunch or take the boy to library play time, or story book hour or do some craft or cleaning decluttering project at home. Just anything to get us up and moving. It's too easy to just park it in front of the computer or television and barely get up, stayed seated most of the day.
|
Had a good ride this morning. Clocked in 5 miles in 22m and 23s. I usually like to work up to a cadio speed but this morning I switched back and forth between cardio and leisurely riding. It worked. It's all good as long as I get on the bike. ;->
Watched a biking video while listening to covers of Autumn Leaves. :fastcycling: |
Good morning, to all of you who come by to read posts on how we are doing with our daily exercise. I'm here to do my part and share about how I am doing.
Sooooo, my Fitbit watch updated itself about a week ago. LOL, it now sends text reminders to me about special things I achieve while on duty at work (I only wear my Fitbit on the days I work). Here is how I did last week: My best day of steps was last Saturday. 18,384K steps while on duty. Total steps for the week: 59K+ AVG Calorie burn: 3,280 calories, Active Zone Minutes: 289 minutes. I eat less than I burn off during a workday, so this is most likely why I am losing small increments of weight on a regular basis. I am within a weight range that I have not seen since I was in my late 20's. When I am under 190 lbs, I will throw a party. Right now I am 222 lbs. I am not as tall as I was back in my youthful years: I have lost three inches in height due to bone density issues as I age: I was 5'11", now I am 5'8". :jester: I have hip and knee issues due to aging related stuff but I also have the continued fallout from the work related injuries I suffered from, back in November of 2016. Six years ago, in three weeks from now, was the day my whole life was upended in a near-fatal traffic accident while on the job for a former employer. I still cannot walk like I used to, but I can walk. It is a challenge, daily. Anyhooooo, this is my update and check in and just know that I am grateful for life, every day. Sending tons of exercise JuJu to all, ~K. :hk2: |
Had an okay ride this morning. Clocked in 5 miles in 24m 4s. Didn't ride for a couple days and I wasn't exerting myself this morniing. Could be better and could be worse. And I always feel good after I ride 5 or so miles.
:fastcycling: |
Got outside and walked - with intermittent sitting - for 25 minutes today. The dog got more exercise than I did, leaping up and down through the ivy-covered ditch on the side of the road with great glee. She also really enjoyed her brush down when we were done.
Oh, and I also got bit by a yellow jacket. |
I managed to fill 2 lawn n leaf bags of trash.
I lifted a large box of sweat potatoes for my 90 yr old neighbor. I walked the dogs in the yard This was a great deal of exercise for me with the current situation with my back. |

Did a lot of work around the femme cave yesterday and wasn't sure I'd make it on the bike this morning but I did and it was okay. Better than what I though it would be. My hips and knees were aching when I went to bed last night but are better after moving around this morning and riding on the bike.
Thought I might have a "give it up" ride and stop midway, but I met my 5-mile goal. Video and/or audio stimulation is a must for me on most exercise days. Thank goodness I have a good supply. :fastcycling: |
