What made me smile today...
While making my morning cup of coffee at work, hearing the front door open and a rasphy voice call out, "Hello?!". I walked in to find an older butch standing in the doorway, tshirt & jeans soaked to the bone from the horrible Texas heat. She asked me if anyone was on the yard that could help her... her truck broke down about a mile down the road, and that she needed a set of jumper cables.
I called my boss and told him I would be right back. I took her to her truck and we got it started in minutes. She was putting the cables back in my car, and said, "a femme in shining armor, thank you". |

Getting to meet all the people I have heard so much about for months! Being included in the fun of the weekend! My puppy Bella had her first birthday yesterday. I think she is jumping straight to the Terrible Twos! This morning I put some laundry on my bed. When I left the room Bella jumped on my bed and messed up my clothes and then proceeded to snack on my bra.
*sigh* That was one expense I wasn't expecting! |

Going for my walk, and knowing that I live in a craptastic neighborhood, but witnessing a big sister teach a little brother how to ride a bike. :)

Being able to say "no" to someone who needed to hear that and not feeling guilty because I can't fix this problem. A year ago, I'd've killed myself trying to make it better even though the solution lies with the other person, not me. And then I would have felt about 5 inches tall when I failed and blamed myself.
I'm in a much better place and that makes me smile. |
A good day at work, talking to my girl, and hugs and kisses from my favorite 3 1/2 yr old,(aka Bubbagirl) who informed me....I'll be here tomorrow morning!....
