Giving joy to someone else!

Finally having this day come to end and having some time to sit and gather my thoughts...

A great lunch today with ArkansasPiscesGrrl, who had me in absolute stitches. The most I'd laughed in a good long time. <3 you, my friend!

I had two huge epiphanies just before and during the lunch:

1. My life is not totally lost, as I'd thought. "Lost" would mean I have no idea what I want or where I'm going. I know very well what point A looks like-I can see that in every facet. However, I also know what point B would be like, so I actually have a vision. The trick is to take the steps to get there, however long.

2. At last year's Reunion and this year, I told myself that I didn't want to take up a hotel room for myself (being local) that someone from out of town would need. I came to a sudden thought last night that this is a cop-out. I didn't take a room because I was afraid of potential intimacy or a serious conversation breaking out, or actually facing myself. My way, if things got uncomfortable, I could bail. I felt as if I had my feet in two worlds. I had a wonderful time, but I know it was what I call "Reunion Lite".

Well, no way. I'm there, in a room next year, whatever happens. More to the point, I'm setting out for my points B, full steam.

Watching Texas A&M beat the hell outta Bama with my kids!

taking a tid bit of a hike in the woods before work....hopefully get out for a broader spectrum type hike tomorrow with the pups...it's hunting season and I have to be selective about where we hike...places that don't have hunting here typically don't allow dogs....

finding the perfect lil round pine cones I like to use to decorate for Christmas....

a nice talk with my eldest child.....she's my heart <3

How amazingly delicious my homemade dark chocolate and banana pancakes turned out this morning...:hk4:

My elec bill was $ 13.50 this month. hahahah I love it !!!

The first bite of the snickerdoodle cookie. It was so amazingly yummy.

Being able to go out and paly some basket ball without any pain,just artritic knees but still doable.

We have a new addition to the family!
 

Her name is Rosie aka Blossom's little sister and she's also a Shih Tzu.

how beautiful my sweet tater pie turned out.. and how much I enjoyed making my personal touch "pie art"... Something I haven't done in a long time because I'd lost the desire to do such things. It feels wonderful to have that back again. I love giving my "treats" a personal artsy touch.

I had a beautiful day once I left the courthouse.

joy at finding special treats for friends at the market
joy at preping packages and special little tiny honey bear jars.
contentment with a special bond that seems to get stronger every day
joy at remembering all the fun times in the kitchen over the past few years
joy at feeling like a Momma Bear and nurturer again ...
joy at doing some much needed self care

Today I found joy in belting out Christmas carols while my mother, my daughter, and myself worked in the kitchen on our thanksgiving feast.

I have never had thanksgiving at my house....and it has been her doing, C's, to bring a HUGE smile and show me what it is all about, from the waking smells to the love she shows, I am thankful, fortunate, and would never take it for granted. Family of your own, however small, is so important. Much love and thanks for her in my life:cheer::stillheart:

A very peaceful Thanksgiving. The kids were helpful, the food excellent, the wine did it's job perfectly. I spent time with the people I love most. The best part was a beautiful prayer from the most beautiful soul.

A wonderful day and we haven't even cut pie yet. :)

Listening to Christmas carols while baking. I haven't listened to them yet other then a few minutes in the car.

A family gathering that turned out to be pleasant and even fun -- with a slew of little great nieces and nephews to liven up the afternoon, and beautiful weather to boot. Couldn't have asked for more.

What brought me joy today? You, as you've done everyday for the last 30 days, not to mention the smiles, the laughter, the promise of possibilities & all, I mean all of the "scenarios" that begin with so.....

Time spent with friends, the food, our doggies getting along. What a great afternoon!

Today - Thankful for blessings and thankful to have what I need in life. More joy to come later when my babe gets home and we decorate for Christmas together. :love1:


Seeing pictures of my beautiful daughter and a video of her dance at school and how much she looks like my Mom. Brings me joy to know she will be here next month. I can't wait to spend that time with her!
