Btw, do any of you have advice on where to find objects such as the ones used in the above wind chime? Antique stores are pretty expensive. I haven't found any online portals for supplies yet, except for etsy.

Any suggestions??

If you don't mind new, Some craft people (Tim Holtz comes to mind) have craft, scrap booking supplies that fit what you posted. Have you tried asking people? Lots of people save all kinds of things.

Have you tried looking in second hand stores? I can only imagine the treasures you might find. How about yard sales? Happy treasure hunting.

I bet you could find some cool items at Habitat for Humanity! The one we used to go to in California had lots of bad ass vintage hardware!

p.s. I have a big box of old keys I have been saving for years to do something with but also found out that a lot of hardware stores have giant boxes of old keys under the counter!! Jack scored some at Lowe's for me!

Thanks Medusa! I totally didn't think of the habitat store. There is one a few miles from my house! I'll have to check it out.

for me, I find wonderful random treasures at thrift stores, garage sales, craigslist and kijiji.
I love the hunt for something special!

Have you all seen those "shabby chic" jewelry organizers made from picture frames and chicken wire? I thing they are super cute and would totally work for me hanging on the wall.
Anyway, I was at a local home decor store on Friday and saw that they had them for sale for $65!!!

EEEK!

I'm going to have Jackhammer make a big one for me because my wrought iron tree branch holders are full and not conducive for earrings.

Anyone ever done tie dye before? Me and the girl and my nephew and sister spent the evening tie dying shirts for each of us. We are excited to see how they come out later today.

I am trying to make sure my 5 year old nephew gets exposed to various creative outlets and to show him it is not just for girls (he tried to tell me something was and then quickly changed his mind when he saw how fun it was).
