American Gods by Neil Gaiman

It may be an older book of his, but it does turn the whole idea of religion on its head.

I am currently reading Wench: A Novel by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Its a story of four slave women who travel to spend the summer with their masters at a vacation resort in Ohio (set in the 1850's). I just started it and am already struggling to put it down!

I just finished The King of Lies by John Hart. A good read - especially for those familiar with small towns in NC!

I've been reading Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories on the subway the last week and a half or so. Finished The Pale Horseman, Lords of the North and Sword Song, just started The Burning Land today. All of the books have been great so far and I hope Cornwell publishes a new one soon since he's said there will probably be 7 or 8 books in the series total.

Anyways, definitely recommend these to fans of historical fiction, particularly about early Germanic history. Or if you're already a Bernard Cornwell fan in general :D

That's actually one of my all-time favourite books! Fucking brilliant!

I'm still reading Bernard Cornwell's The Burning Land, since I started reading some other stuff too.

Also reading The Testosterone Files and all I can say is: finally! I'm not a fan of ordering books off the net, so it took me forever to actually find this in stores...and at a Chapters at that  Everytime I went to the Women's Bookstore (guess I could have ordered it from them, but I'm simple minded like that sometimes) to see if they had it they were out for like the last year :(

The third I'm reading is Parrotfish by Ellen Wittlinger. Didn't realise it was a teen book when I bought it and so I'm remembering why I rarely even read teen books as a teen (usually not terribly well written), lol. But overall I think it's awesome that there is now at least one book on FtMs geared toward teens. Wish I'd had something like that to read 10 years ago.
