Hey Jo Jo,

I live about an hour north of Orlando, and I would love to meet up. My niece and nephew will be here for nine days. Let me know a couple of days in advance and I will be there. There is a Starbucks location on Kirkman Road and Vineland Road near universal studios.

Hope Rooster has a safe flight when he get's to leave. I can imagine the fun Jake and Scoote would have together.

Have fun today, the kids are showing me how to create ppl on their PSP.

Hugs,

Zimmy

Jake, I wish you lived closer...I can just imagine the trouble you and Scoote would get into! :seeingstars: And I do love the shelling...we're addicted.

Well, as you heard, Rooster's flight was cancelled...we had a perfectly good plane waiting for us, but no crew to fly it since they were all stuck in NY and Boston. Ironic since the Syracuse airport was open and it was a direct flight...but can't go without the crew. He has to fly direct, so the next chance was Tuesday...means he has a much shorter visit than he originally planned, but nothing to be done about it.

Scoote had to work today, including her district meeting...poor thing. Lucky me gets to sit here with coffee and an onion bagel (toasted with butter....yummy :eating: ) and watching TV. I am being good though, and am getting the laundry done at least! :giggle:

Zimmy, are you near Orlando or are you further north? I'd love to meet at Starbucks or something for a cup of coffee on one of these Orlando runs...

Lips, sorry to hear you're snowed in...used to hate that...but please do put paper down for the puppies, poor things! Our little dog hated the snow...he's just built too low to the ground to deal with it. I used to shovel him a "potty path" so he could get out easily to do his business. :dog:

Oh my G-d its so cold I can barely move I'm so stiff and the dog wanted to go out for a walk!! The trials and tribulations of dogs and their habits..I have the space heater on because its so cold going to do wash and wash the pants got wet and I'm freezing need a hot shower to warm up!! I hope that people are taking care and are safe in this weather..

Good Evening Everyone,

I'm thinking that tonight should be a left over night! I'm babysitting the kids tonight so my mom can go play pool.

Have a good night,

Zimmy

Good Evening My friends,

There will definately be a visit.. however, I do not know I would never move back.. just too hot for Me.. and given the hot involves humidity.. mutters.. Given how far North I am.. one would think there would be no humidity up here.. that is so not the case.. and down in Florida it is triple-fold.. I am delicate and would melt again... grins.

Jo, I can only say... you should be afraid.. very, very afraid.. laughs. Also, when I do get down that way for a visit.. shelling will most assuredly have to be on our agenda of things to do.. nods.

Hope you both are having a peaceful evening...

Big Hugs.
Jake

Good Evening you,

Left overs sound great.. what is on the menu? I am contemplating making chicken stir-fry... however, I just woke from a nap a bit ago.. and given I wake up slowly it might be 8pm before dinner is even started.. laughs. Perhaps, I should skip it.. and just launch into some french pressed goodness and gingerbread men.

What do you think?

Big Hugs.
Jake

Jake you drink that french pressed goodness and you will be up all night but the gingerbread men are definitly on the agenda..as for dinner it was homemade soup with chicken and pasta in it and it was good and warm..phew I'm beat shoveling and what not and dealing with the dogs crying to go outside all day and not able to until Wed or Thurs when it melts some in the back yard.. have a nice night everyone..

Good evening everyone :)

I browned some thin-sliced pork chops, layered them over basmati rice, sprinkled salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic, poured some chicken broth over top, covered it in foil and slid it in the oven. It smells good, but it's taking longer than expected (and I'm hungry!) :eating: I've got homemade bread rising in the pans, so that will go in soon....and ready to steam some broccoli and carrots. Once that's all done, dinner will be served.

I'll take a cup of that coffee though Jake :bringcoffee: ...as long as you don't mind if I put in a dollop of Bailey's. :giggle:

Zimmeh 12-27-2010 06:24 PM

Good Evening You,

I am thinking of maybe some Chicken Marsala for dinner with homemade garlic bread. Coffee sounds excellent right now, may I have a cup? Thank you!

I'm having a blast watching my two nieces and baby nephew, who is already asleep. My oldest niece is teaching my youngest niece how to be a cheerleader.

How is your night?

Oh the basmatic rice is my favorite and the dogs still don't get that the backyard is off limits I tried to take him outside but its too cold for them they just stand there and do nothing its really frustrating to say the least..I hope your dinner gets done soon, pork takes a long time to cook but the dinner sounds great!! have a nice night at least you don't have to shovel...

Zimmeh 12-27-2010 06:40 PM

I had Ham, rice and great northern beans for dinner. Thinking I may have Chicken Marsala for dinner soon.

How is your night?

It's going well...dinner is done (and turned out pretty good), and just finished two slices of fresh bread warm from the oven. I absolutely love homemade bread with butter and a glass of cold milk. :)

Ham sounds yummy too...we had that for Christmas dinner and it was delicious. I'm going to have to try your chicken marsala recipe soon too. :)

Zimmeh 12-27-2010 06:54 PM

Your going to love it. Fresh bread sounds good and so does Jake's gingerbread man cookies.

Hey You,

I am picking up the chicken and mushrooms and extra virgin olive oil. I also love to bake chicken in Italian dressing and have pasta on the side.

My nephew will be turning 14 on January 4th, we are having a birthday party for him this weekend.

Thank you for the coffee! It will help keep me awake when I drive home tonight after babysitting. I might have a piece of homemade carrot cake for dessert tonight.

Big hugs back,

Zimmy

morningstar55 12-28-2010 05:44 AM

i been trying to catch up on the postings here......
some of you are going shelling?? is that like looking for shells on the beach?? lol
i use to love doing that..... my favorite area to look is on the gulf side of Fla.. sooo much more fun things to find. and best time is right after a thunder /windy storm and the tides it out... :)

ok left overs..... we had christmas at my brothers and well didnt have much left overs to get.. lol ... guess it was a good thing.... but ummm i kinda miss having some left over turkey..
if im home for new yrs weekend ... i am going to make something outside on the smoker.... every yr since the mid 80's i have made on new yrs day .. a whole beef brisket.. texas style.. and a red skin tater salad.. black eye peas.. , and other side items.... i felt it was a great change of pace from the more common holiday meats like turkey and ham.. which seems like a lot of sick of by the time new yrs rolls around.. lol and seemd refreshing a good way to start of a new yr. :)
now where is my mimosa ?? .... lol

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all slept well and had a wonderful start to your day.

MS, that sounds very good! I don't eat a lot of red meat, but I would enjoy that.

I had a blast hanging out with my two nieces and nephew lastnight. I didn't get home until 11:45pm. I am not going to Miami this weekend, we are having a birthday party for my nephew. I cannot believe he is turning 14 next Tuesday. He wants to go to college and become an engineer, which made me happy! I also split a small bag of Hershey's miniatures with my ten year old niece yesterday.

Coffee is served!

Have fun today,

Zimmy

JustJo 12-28-2010 08:52 AM

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: I'm making toast from the homemade bread, spreading on the butter and mmmmmmm.... anyone else care for a slice? I have such a weakness for homemade, fresh bread. :giggle:

We try the airport for Rooster again this afternoon...hope his flight, and his visit, go alright. This is his first solo flight and visit, so it's a big step at 13.

Scoote is off work today and still :alarm: Hopefully she'll get a good rest. Her back has been bothering her a lot, and it makes it hard for her to really sleep well. I'm still fighting this silly cold (the joys of diabetes...makes it hard to shake any infection or illness), but luckily Rooster went through it in a couple days and is back to normal. I just kept filling him full of orange juice and Airborne, and that seemed to do the trick.

Hope you're all having a good day...and staying warm!

Leigh 12-28-2010 10:23 AM

Morning everyone, just enjoying some bread with peanut butter and jam yummy ~ leaving some out for everyone :D
