Labor Day.
Yes!
We have lots to celebrate, including the Goofy's birthday and a first date anniversary for Pup and Oil, but really, that's kind of our own bid-ness.
Oh, and we can celebrate Queen Latifah finally annoucing what we all knew. She keeps it real.

Details:
Sunday
Sept 4

Come swimming, eating, enjoying good company, Apples to Apples, Fact or Crap, anything else?

say, starting 3pm (you know swimming is best around 3, there's sun over the pool but lots of shade too)

The Oiler will be asking for teh Arwen's beans because he says they are kick ass.
We will have something for dinner.
If you want to bring a goodie besides your drinking stuff (we'll have sweet tea for sure)...make that goodie appetizer or dessert stuff unless your name is teh Arwen. You know we'll be noshing for hours after dinner is past while we play games, hang out, laugh, enjoy each other etc.

I'm working tomorrow, so we'll be late for the premium swim and sun time, but should be there on or before 6-ish.

Yay! Count The Chad & I in!

I'll bring some stuffed jalapenos, if it's okay to use your oven to heat them up. :)

Absolutely okay on the oven; we have some other goodies being baked in the oven as well! Looking forward to seeing you two!!

Beans ala Arwen will be on the stove in a bit. I like to let them simmer a long time before bringing them to Glynn...I mean everyone. :|

I'll probably need help carrying them in. My arms from the shoulder down have been funky lately. I am dropping things that I don't mean to and having sharp shooting pains.

I don't mean to have those either. :|

I do have a doctor appointment on Tuesday.

Someone needs to keep their grimy mitts off of somebody else's computer while we think he's in a drug-induced stupor but is sneakin' around the house looking for trouble instead.

right?

I know Ima log off in a minute.

I copped out and will be bringing crackers and cream cheese/raspberry chipotle stuff instead, so the oven's all yours, Wil. It's so hot and I couldn't bear the thought of hovering over a hot oven! Next time!

Besides, Ima be in the pool - looking forward to seeing everyone soon :)

Hi all

Does anyone know if the Bastrop co fire has hit Cedarcreek? I have dear friends in that area and I can't reach them.

Not yet, but they have called for evacuations there. It's heading that way.

Thank you...I know Austin is 30 or so miles away, but stay safe. (f)

The fire is actually on the other side of Bastrop, so Cedar Creek should be ok for now. Electricity has been turned off in many areas so firefighters don't have to worry about that too, so that may have some hand in why you can't get ahold of your friends.

Arwen 09-04-2011 10:12 PM

Glyneice, as always, thank you for opening up your home to Austin and all incoming. It's so much fun to splash around in your pool and just laugh. Tonight was no different.

Well....

There was that store that Shariberry found. :| I did tell my cousin (had to call her to make sure her folks were okay) about that store. I think she's still laughing too.

Of course, I forgot my bean pot. LOL

Many moons ago I lived in Cedar creek and worked in Bastrop...such a shame to see that all burn. Thank you for the link...I have been watching CNN, but they repeat a lot of info.
