We went to see Moana last night (In 3d). It was Soooo good. Disney is starting to do some things right in regards to representing girls. The film was beautiful and the plot was fierce and we also loved the soundtrack. My daughter went on a tirade about how this better be the new "Frozen" with an actual real role model for girls to aspire for.

I watched The Immigrant the other night on Netflix..

Joaquim Phoenix was in it along with a very pretty girl who apparently won an Oscar for that role...

Wow, what a absolutely gripping film.
Love it from start to end.
Tom Hanks and the cast are superb.
This is a must see movie.
I would watch it again for sure.

Hi everyone,
This is a French subtitled film.
But don't let that put you off.
The story is set in the seventies, and focuses on two women that come from very different areas of France.
I won't give any spoilers away.
This is a very good film indeed, and it's worth taking time out one evening to watch it.
You can find the trailer on YouTube.
If you watch it, I hope you like it.

Eagle Huntress - well done documentary/movie. We were cheering along; yes, actually making noise in the theater. It left us with several logistical/timing questions, but overall the entire family loved it.

Technically, it was Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's a gritty, rough movie but 50 cent made a nice appearance as a tech savvy reformed thug.

I saw this tonight.

If it's not nominated for a few academy awards, I will be totally shocked. Phenomenal story, touching performances and a few twists and turns make it a great film.

As a side note, I was leaving and someone was pulling into a tight spot in front of my car (at the end of the row and they were coming in at weird angle because they drove past it, backed up and were turning right into it) and they hit the curb.

Instead of pulling back out and lining themselves up right, they kept trying to go forward, which was at an angle into the curb. About 8 inches high. Seriously? Irrational behavior like this is why car insurance is soooo expensive up here. I expected a young person to get out of the car after all of that but a full grown woman-maybe in her 40s-got out. With her kids. One of which was in sports shorts. Welcome to the NE on a snow day!

Return of the living dead 2 from 1987!

Gemme 12-22-2016 10:04 AM

I saw these movies last night.

My take away? To live life with major piggy power.

Squee!

There's a twist that you aren't let in on through the trailers and though I knew it would be serious, it was a tad bit heavier than I thought. Well done though.

"White Christmas " this morning on AMC

Just a lovely little Christmas Eve film...well, a different kind of Xmas eve, that is.

I was looking at Rotten Tomotatoes for a flick to watch tonight and found one with a 95% critic score and an 88% viewer score.

It is a Korean zombie movie.

You might think it hokie or cartoonish but you would be wrong.

I have been into it for 40 minutes so far, and it is non-stop action but with believable characters that I got invested in pretty much right away.

A review from IMDb:

"The best zombie film I have ever seen (outside of the comedy Shaun of the Dead). Such a great film. It starts exactly like a train ride gathering momentum and gaining speed. The only difference with this train ride is I didn't want it to stop. It has a brilliant script, fantastic effects plus a very good choice of cast and acting. It also has a 'credible' plot (as credible as you can get with the zombie genre). Many of the scenes will stay with me for a long time. I thoroughly recommend this very refreshing and fast paced film. Get a ticket and enjoy the ride!'
