Good morning and Happy New Year everyone! :)

I stayed up long enough to kiss my sweetie at midnight, but then faded fast...too much coughing. I'm taking my Mucinex, which is helping...and drinking tea with lots of lemon. It's clearing up, but very stubborn. I think it's the move...new local variation of germs for my immune system to deal with.

I think it would be great if you came down to visit Jake! We could get Zimmy to come down our way too, and we could all do some shelling, maybe a little treasure hunting (we're called the Treasure Coast for a reason :beachkids: )...sounds like fun! There's a place called Sebastian that we like to go...even saw manatees 8 or 10 feet away when we were in the cove there. Rooster and I were delighted...they swam right up, like they were curious about all the kids playing in the water and wanted to see what was going on.

JakeTulane 01-01-2011 10:07 AM

Good Morning you,

Breakfast sounds phenomenal... although I am pretty close to lunch now.. laughs.. I slept like the dead.. which is a good thing...

So the REAL question is.. given you wrote about the coffee.. were you able to pull the french pressed thing together? or have you not been to the store yet to get the different grind of coffee? inquiring minds want to know.. nods.

I hope you are having a peaceful start to your day.

Big Hugs.
Jake

Good Morning Jo,

Happy New Year to you .. and scoote too. The New Year came in just as it should.. with a smile on My face.. what could get better than that? nods.

Yeah that coughing thing has got to be gettng old by now.. atleast you are seeing some improvement.. if you were not.. I would think a visit to a walk in clinic would be in order. At the very least they would give antibiotics to help clear up what has settled in your chest. However, as long as you are bringing "stuff" up when you cough.. that is always a good sign.. because then it is not settling creating bronchitis, etc. I hope you feel better soon. hugs.

I am thinking after I do My move... My vacation plan for the coming year will be coming down that way... flights are always reasonable.. we actually have an airline here that does non-stop to Orlando and it is super cheap.. so it is definately doable.. and 3 of My favorite people are there... so that just gives Me more determination to make it happen. smiles.

So what is on the agenda for you and scoote today?

My plan is to stay right where I am.. in My big reading chair.. perusing threads.. having coffee... take in some tv .. or put a movie in... I also do not have the heart to take My tree and cards down yet.. I think that will be on the agenda for tomorrow.. I really do not want to .. mutters.

Hugs to you both

As Always,
Jake

Hi Jake,

That sounds like a good plan for the day. :) Scoote is still asleep and I'm debating about whether I should wake her up or not. I'm getting hungry...and am wondering if she would like to go eat mexican food, or go to the beach, or both. It's sunny outside and looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. We had also talked about going to the movies (since I never made it to see the latest Harry Potter)...so we have a few things on our agenda.

Our tree came down yesterday...the kittens had been busily undecorating it for us and dragging needles around, so it was time.

You mentioned a move...are you moving again so soon?

JakeTulane 01-01-2011 12:25 PM

Hi Jo,

So did you wake scoote up? I did not hear any screaming coming from down that way.. grins. Mexican food sounds tasty.. I ended up just having leftover spaghetti from last night's dinner. Tonight however, I am going to have steak with a tasty tossed salad.

I read the whole Harry Potter series (at the urging of My niece).. and loved the books.. although I did not believe I would. So after that, I decided I wanted to see the movies in the order that they came out. (I had seen a couple of them .. on the off chance when I was channel surfing).. so I just watched.. Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets last week.. and liked them both.. so I will be getting the next two this coming week.. I would love to go see the new one that is out.. however, I am holding back until I see the rest of the movies first.

Nods. The tree will come down tomorrow.. as will all of the wonderful cards I received.

Ah yes the move. When I moved previously.. it was just here in the town I live in. This next move will be out of state...I think it is time.. for a change..and My plan is to move by March. I have done alot of research on different areas.. and I have a friend that lives close to the area I want to move to.. and she has given Me alot info on it as well as putting some "feelers" out there for rentals that are available, etc. So I am really looking forward to it. It will be a fresh start... however, it will be within close driving/flying distance to get back here should My family need Me. smiles.

I hope you both have a good day.. and I vote.. mexican..the beach.. AND the movie.. grins.

As Always,
Jake

JO hope you are feeling better and get some cough medicine. I would go eat mexican and go the beach too. Wish I lived in a warmer climate, poor dog is having a tough time getting in and out the backyard poor thing. I had to help him this afternoon to get back inside. Doing laundry today its time and then shower time with clean clothes. I would like to make a trip down there too, to see houses or apartments for the future and job prospects too..Would be fun if we all could get together!! WEll time to check on laundry and see if the last load has to go into the dryer..see you later..

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Coffee is on, english muffin is toasted and buttered...and once Scoote gets up I think I'm going to make some bacon and eggs. I'm enjoying my coffee and reading the directions to assemble the rocker/swivel chairs that came with our patio furniture. Looks very simple...so that's good. :)

I also just had to do lizard rescue duty. Our girl kitty Mabel had one cornered up against the sliding glass door. She was just staring though and occasionally swatting at it, so I went out to see if it was still alive. It was, and the tough little thing was hissing at her and keeping her backed off...even though he was smaller than my little finger. When the boy kitty Banshee came out to assist her I thought....okay bullies, that's enough! I distracted the kittys with roast beef and nudged the lizard onto the shovel by using a broom...then deposited him in the grass of the side yard. I'd have gotten him over the fence, but he was about to run off the shovel....so he's gonna have to make a run for it on his own.

I hate that they hunt the lizards, but it's their nature...so I just hope the lizards are quick, and that they spread the word that our backyard isn't a safe place for lizard-kind.

We didn't do the beach yesterday...but we did get the mexican food (yummy) and to the movies to see the most recent Harry Potter. Maybe we'll get to the beach today since it looks like another beautiful day. There's a new beach we want to try, north of Sebastian, that's the place where the most treasure has washed up. We love the shells, but we both fantasize about finding some old Spanish coins! :beachkids:

Hope you all have a great day...and enjoy your Sunday! :gimmehug:

JakeTulane 01-02-2011 10:14 AM

Good Morning you,

I was laughing My ass off. I mean you took that word plunger literally.. and I kept thinking to Myself.. it really can NOT be the coffee.. because I use all different grinds.. so then I could only think it was the temperature of the tea kettle water.. which totally made sense because it does need to be boiling hot. I am glad we figured it out.. so now you can enjoy the coffee.. which was REALLY the point. still laughing.

I hope you had a peaceful rest.. and if you are watching kids.. they are not driving you bonkers.

Big Hugs.
Jake

Good Morning Jo,

Breakfast sounds yummy.. I will be right over.. grins.. and for said breakfast I will help scoote put that patio furniture together..smiles..

nods.. true about the lizards.. although they are truly in their natural habitat .. where the kitties are not.. especially when they are outdoors.. now if the lizard makes it inside... that is a different story.. and you are right.. those little things zip around like a sprung spring.. so normally they get away before they can get pinned down. Btw.. I love the name Mabel for a kitty. so damn cute. I hope the little lizard guy made it.

How did you like the Harry Potter? My nephew said it was phenomenal. I am truly having a hard time not going to see it before I see the ones made before it. Yeaaah for mexican. I ended up making a steak last night..which was very tasty.. and tossed salad with butter lettuce. Not sure what tonight is going to be.

I also put it on My agenda to take My tree down today.. however, I do not want to. Although I do not want to be one of those people that I go by their house and go.. what the hell bob? they STILL have their Christmas stuff up and it is Valentine's Day? laughs.

Thank you for the coffee... here is a refill.. :bringcoffee:

I hope you and scoote have a good day.

As Always,
Jake

Hey Jake...I did tons of comparison shopping of movers...and found the absolute best deal was Brown's Moving & Storage out of Syracuse. They're a Mayflower affiliate...best price, great service...and actually no more expensive than me renting a UHaul, a storage space and hiring guys to help (who wouldn't be professionals). Check them out!
