It's a kilt thing....

Getting my name on the queue to have a kilt made from the custom woven tartan I just got from Scotland. Still gonna be a wait for sure, but am one step closer to owning a rather unique kilt.

Spending some morning time in bed with my girl (f) having coffee, reading the paper online, listening to radio morning show and doing a crossword puzzle :)

One of my daughter's personal assistants giving me a perfect (albeit upsetting) reason to terminate her employment.

Perhaps now, at last, we can get on with the business of improving my daughter's life and allowing her to flourish like she's entitled to.

Waking up a few minutes ago from one of those frustrating type dreams. I was dreaming I was at a DEWALT TOOLS trade show in Colorado. Dewalt was showcasing their new line of XR products. I was trying so hard to get to handle one OF ANYTHING and I would get close in to a booth, almost ready to pick one up ... then the crowd would shift and push me away ... this went on for hours and hours ... it was a freaking "tease Brock" dream. I am joyful to be awake and out of that! And grateful I drank extra few swallows of coke just before I got into bed ... having to pee woke me up ... else I would probably still be there ... so close to it but cannot hold or touch.

Stuff like that makes me crazy. After I went to the bathroom, had to get 2 ice cream bars from the kitchen freezer to help me get away from the lingering feelings of horrible frustration. Also, very thankful the source was a drill or impact driver and not a woman.

This happened yesterday but had to post it! I scored a huge box of books (Jack is twitching as I type this) at the library sale for only $8.

Several memoirs, books on Lesbian Feminism issues, 3 books on the Geisha, several books on crystals and herbs, a book on the Chicken Ranch aka The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, several Anais Nin poetry volumes, a class yearbook from 1901, and some "crap" to read when nobody is looking. WHAT!? I like smarmy Gay sex books!

I think I got 28 books in all. WEEEE!

Today I learned how to get live stream so I can watch the world paint horse show that's going on in Ft,Worth,I can also get to see anything the site has on it in real time or results if the event shows results of what's been going on.Gonna be lots' of fun.

I love estate sales where they have old books. I scored some lady's notebook from the early 1900's where she kept notes on how to raise children. Very interesting but glad I wasn't her child :|

Breakfast in bed and a back scratch. It also brings me joy that the day has only just started.

I'm on cloud 9... today was so fun and the events lightened my spirits...
I'm now what you may call "officially self employed"... although part time right now, it will soon go full time with great money...as a Pet Sitter...this is gonna be so much more fun than working as a policymaker. Yeah, it's not making a million $$$ but it's gonna be great! I get to make good money having fun and less stress.

My day could not have been any better.

Around mid-afternoon, my supervisor and I were getting close to completing a huge hunk of our software. A tight deadline to deliver was imposed on us for this. Stroll in the park. To celebrate, we shut his office door, plugged in some Led Zepplin tunes ... kicked it off with one of my all time favorites entitled: Since I've Been Loving You ... oh, man it was great. Both he and are are old enough to have seen all the good bands back in the day. He's fifty, I'm fifty-seven. Then we had to share those secret glory day stories ... and giggle. In fact, lots of giggling went on! It was so fun! :)

I lost my wallet a few days back while shopping...and the police station called me today to say they had it!

Nothing had been touched...all my cards were there...it's such a relief...and saves me sooo much time (and money) by not having to replace my license, SSN, debit cards, student ID, library card, store cards and on and on and on.....

Thank god for good, honest people :)

Looking out of the windows of our new home and having a close-up mountain view. What a peaceful place.

2 Things ...my roommate's generosity and caring nature for children ..
...working together to put together a birthday care package for a little girl turning 9 on Sunday. I've known her Daddy since 2nd grade and adore their beautiful family. It brings me joy to help them out since he's had a major pay cut and her momma is really worried they can't do birthday or Christmas. ...my children are grown and moved. Christmas and December birthdays are just so much more fun with little kids to make smile.

Getting through to a student who couldnt see his own talent. Watching him start to bloom and really be willing to work on his writing for the first time.

Hearing a story about how Miss Maddie sticks up for me even when I am not there. hahaha I love that kid !!!! Nobody tells it like it is better than her. No tact filter, no Emporer's New Clothes, or tippy toeing around the elephant in the room, she just slaps you in the face with the truth, reality as she knows it. Now I wonder where she gets that from?:blink:

Today is a fantastic day,no rain,cloudy sky's,the temp is 56*...it's almost like summer after the nasty day's we have had.I have the patio door cracked open so the fur babies can come and go while in sitting at the puter.We played pitch till we all gave out,then I sat in the grass(yes I still have a patch or two) with the kids looking up at the sky to see what was flying around.

I have two :)

Yesterday, DD and I were in the car. She was wearing a top with a sequined smiley on it, and the sun made the entire inside of the car look like a disco ball. It's been such a terrible couple of years, that just the few minutes watching her bounce around laughing made for a moment of joy.

Then, today, it was finding just the right appointment book for next year. I'm rather particular about how large the day spaces have to be, and how easy it is for me to use it. I struggled all year with a book I really didn't like, because I felt it was a waste of money to buy another one. Big mistake.

There's just something that says "Fresh Start" like a brand-new appointment book, with no appointments in it, no doodles, and no unidentified phone numbers or unknown messages in the margins. It's a thing of beauty before I start already transferring things into it for January.
