JustJo 05-24-2010 05:03 PM

Good evening all! :)

The sun is actually out and shining...and it's warm outside. In central NY, that is cause for celebration (or shock).

How about we break out the :bbq: and cook some hamburgers, and a nice marinated london broil. I'll make up some potato salad, fresh cut cole slaw, and we can have some corn on the cob to go with it. :eating:

To drink we have a variety of sodas, fresh squeezed lemonade, ice cold beer, and margaritas for those who are so inclined. :toast:

Of course, dessert can only be strawberry shortcake....and brownie sundaes for my sweetie and any other :chocolate: fiends in the house!

Oh! And can't forget a fresh pot :bringcoffee: to go with dessert.

:lips: baby...I'll save the center brownie for you. :stillheart:

freyja 05-24-2010 08:26 PM

Ooooooh Jo, i missed dinner with y'all tonight.
What a wonderful summertime meal you prepared.

But if there is piece of :chocolate: left, i would really really like it, yes even this close to bedtime.

DC - heyyyyyyyyy girl - yay for nerdy pale girls :D

freyja 05-25-2010 04:21 AM

Good morning!
Rise n Shine.
Rise n Shine.
The sun is here.
The birds are singing.
It is a new day.
And coffee is ready!!!!

i just got word that Musicman is in dah house, so i will go busy myself elsewhere while he uses the kitchen.

Back in a bit.

musicman 05-25-2010 04:30 AM

Good morning Honies and Homies, As freyja said the sun is shining , birds are singing and breakfast is on.

Strawberry pancakes, Canadian maple syrup, omelets, crispy bacon, CRISPY hash browns (for Jo) crumpets, fruits, dips, yogurt, egg whites (for our Zimmy) lots of coffee, cold Dr. Pepper (for Scoote) Juices. Old,mild, medium cheeses as well.

Hope everyone has a great day!

freyja will be looking after the music for this mornings meal

Musicman

freyja 05-25-2010 04:38 AM

Thank you kindly, Musicman, for allowing me to go take a peek into my archives.
Yes, i am stuck in the 80's.

Has everyone seen the movie Flashdance?
Today's hit from 1983 is What a Feeling, Irene Cara.
Anyone also follow her on televiion these days?

Have a good day everyone.
Breakfast was awesome, pancakes and strawberries are always a winner for this girl :D Thank you Musicman.

cinderella 05-25-2010 04:39 AM

Good morning all. Just a quick drive-by coffee pick up. Hey Ms Freyja - I seeeee you!!! lol GM sweetie!

I am not a frequent visitor to the coffee clutch, but just wanted to see who else are the early birds...I'm not usually up this early, but I fell asleep early, so here I am with nothing to do except chat you up - whoever happens to be up, anyway, lol.

Tomorrow is a big day for me. Window company coming to replace all my windows with new ones - even the big bay window in the livingroom. I am excited, but can't wait 'til they're done, so I can put my house back in order! Right now it looks like a tornado hit it. I had to remove all curtains, hardware, and any and all obstructions. They lied when they told me the installation would be from the outside in....grrrrr!! Turns out it's not so, and I have to clear everything from the windows with a few feet of clearence in front of them so they can do their thing!! My sewing room - which is usually a catastrophe anyway, was the worst to clear out!!! Oh well, it's a good thing I'll never have to do it again - and it adds to the resale value if I ever decide to sell the house...hmmmm, move to a warmer place???

Ok, long post - sorry folks, got carried away! lol

JustJo 05-25-2010 06:55 AM

:bringcoffee: Good morning kitchen dwellers :)

Just making a fresh pot for all of the sleepyheads...:coffee:

Good music selection this morning freyja...I'm still stuck in the 80s too, and no apologies for it. :giggle: And Musicman...again with a wonderful breakfast for us...thank you! I confess that I've never had strawberry pancakes....but I love strawberries, and I love pancakes, so it sounds good to me. :)

It's sunny here already today and they're calling for record high temperatures today...of course in central New York in May, that means it might get to 81 or 82 :fan:

Cinderella, good to see you...and hope the window installation goes well. It is a hassle and a mess, but so worth it. I have a very old house (125 years) and got half the windows replaced last year. It made such a nice difference in the livability of the place. If I was staying, I'd be getting the rest done. As it is, I'm still just trying to sell, sell, sell....

Well I'm off to do a little work and earn my keep...
:lips: baby...hope you're :alarm: and having sweet dreams :stillheart:

Mrs. Strutt 05-25-2010 06:59 AM

Morning, kitchen dwellers! :coffee:

Today is the start of another work week for me...after two days of doing absolutely nothing but shopping and swimming :tanning: You should see my house, lol...Mr. Strutt is going to wonder if hys OCD clean-freak wife has been replaced with an alien life form :alieninjar:

My father finally has the date for his triple bypass surgery: June 23. This is more preventative than any kind of an emergency situation, but I'll still be relieved when it's all over. I'd appreciate it if you would all keep him in your good thoughts and prayers.

Have a beautiful and empowering day (f)

Good evening kitchen dwellers :)

I've had a rough few days, so I asked my sweetie to bring home pizza and wings for us. I've got some ice cold sodas and beer :beerbros: and I vote we all just put our feet up and relax. I'm even up for a scary movie :scarytv: ...just as long as I can sit next to my sweetie and hide my eyes when I need to.

Mrs. Strutt...shopping and swimming sounds good to me! I'm keeping your father in my thoughts. Hope he makes a quick recovery. :rrose:

scootebaby 05-25-2010 08:07 PM

Good Evening DC...we will leave the lights on while watching if that will help :)

Mrs. Strutt 05-25-2010 08:21 PM

Think I'll take a pass on the scary movies as well. My husband loves them, but I flee to our bedroom with a good book when hy decides to watch one :scared:

*sigh* If they came on during the day instead of at night, I could just go shopping instead :greendollar:

musicman 05-26-2010 04:27 AM

Good morning Honies and Homies, Geez I'm sorry i missed the scary movie :(

Breakfast is on, going to go lite today as it is really hot and I think a lite breakfast might be in store.

All kind of fruits, dips, cheeses, coffee, croissants, english muffins, crumpets, dr. Pepper, juices. I think there might be left over pizza for those that want some.

I'll leave the music for our honey freyja when she wonders in today.

Hope everyone has a great day wherever you are !

Musicman

freyja 05-26-2010 06:34 AM

Voila,
Tah Dah, c'est moi, je suis ici :D

And thanks kindly to Musicman for feeding us - very nice to have you back in the full swing of things.
Do you know that one of the most important aspects of a relationship is not taking your partner for granted? Or what they do for you, no matter how small it may seem?

For my gal pals that are stuck in the 80's and especially DC who is sitting there listening to the charts go over the 1980 - 1984.
Enjoy all.

cinderella 05-26-2010 06:43 AM

Good morning all, good morning Miss Freyja. It's going to be a hot one by me today. Am waiting for the window guys - all windows are being replaced today! Yay!!! Hopefully next year - the front door and sliders to the deck. Yes! I am on a remodeling/decorating roll!!! lol

Have a wonderful day you all, and a great week and weekend. :)

JustJo 05-26-2010 06:47 AM

Good morning kitchen dwellers :)

:bringcoffee: Hope everyone slept well and is feeling good today. It's supposed to be hot (for CNY) and sunny again today :tanning:

Musicman, thank you for breakfast and I so agree on the lighter fare for a hot day. I'm thinking croissant, coffee and some strawberries...mmmmm.

Freyja...lovely selection again today...I do LOVE Tina...always have, always will. :) And you're right about those little things people do. I'll tell you a secret...one of the sweetest things Scoote did for my first visit. She's not a coffee drinker, but she knows I am...so she went out and bought a cute little coffeemaker, perfect size for one person, and spent about half an hour baffled in the coffee aisle at the grocery store (and managed to pick my brand...without asking....how cool is that!?). She even gets up and starts the coffee for me, too...unless I beat her to it... :giggle: Little things really do mean a lot. :awww:

I'm off to get started at work...had a less than productive day yesterday so want to make up for it today. :)

Hugs to all the kitchen dwellers :gimmehug: and hope you have a wonderful day.

And :lips: to my :alarm: sweetie.... :love1:

Zimmeh 05-26-2010 07:01 AM

Good Morning everyone,

Freyja, thanks for the Tina Turner video. Did you get a chance to watch the Dancing With The Stars finale lastnight? Nicole Scherzinger, from PCD, won the competition after doing the Jive to a Tina Turner song. She kicked arse and she can dance.

DeVry received my transcript request form on Monday so I should have my transcripts by the beginning of next week, woohoo..I cannot wait...

Hugs to Jo Jo!!!

Zimmy

Tommi 05-26-2010 07:55 AM

ANTS....
to the right of me
:wwii-veterans:
to the left of me
Meowing Cats,,,
ANTS

from the kitchen down the hall to the living room
ANTS
Devouring the leftover sardine and rice cat food.
racing to an invisible separation in the crown molding

No time to talk,..there they are..aha..

Oh...Good Morning Everyone...I'm armed with Windex...:wwii-veterans:
Breakfast later..maybe at a restaurant..:sunglass:

JustJo 05-26-2010 08:05 AM

((( Zimmy )))...glad to hear you're going back to school :) I hope it turns out well for you. I know going back to college was one of the smartest things I ever did. It was a rough few years, but well worth it.

:giggle: Tommi....I picture you like this :fudd: today...on the hunt for ants. I use some great stuff called Terro...just a drop on a little piece of cardboard, tucked in a corner of the kitchen counter (near the window where they like to come in). They drink it up, go home, and poison their nest. It's mean, but hey...if they don't want to be dead they need to stay outside...that's my theory!

I'm working hard on project documents this morning :readfineprint: so just bouncing in and out today. :rrose:

Mrs. Strutt 05-26-2010 08:06 AM

Good morning, kitchen dwellers (f)

Ms. Jo - hope you feel more in fighting trim this morning. I am still tossing handfuls of positive energy out into the universe to get you down here ASAP :)

cinderella - Mr. Strutt and I have just resumed remodeling on our house as well. We bought a fixer-upper in 2000 and had about 2/3 of it done before we had Katie, including new windows, but then took a hiatus for the past five years. Next project: install ceiling fans in the kitchen, living room and both bedrooms!

I need to jump in the shower and get ready for work. I love my job, but today would be a good day to stay home and lounge in the pool. Think Mr. S has plans to :bbq: and maybe have a couple of friends over this weekend, though, so I will be a good girl and keep my nose to the grindstone.

Have a great one! (f)
