Mornin Folks and All; How are you? I hope you are all well. There's a senior couple living on an old farm up the road a piece. I see them outside once a year or so, on my way to the store. I always slow down to see how they are doing. Yesterday I saw them, standing close together, holdin on to each other for dear life. Sort of pulled my little pecker string. That's all, and take care Folks.

This I remember from a party we both attended some years back

What does "just dating" looks like - I'd really like to know - at what point does it go from just hanging out to dating? And can you date more than one person at a time - and do butches or femmes have a harder time with this concept? or does it just depend on the person -

This is a tough one. For me, I like going out, hang out with different folks.

I have found myself going for coffee and just socializing, only to discover that it was perceived as a date. Hence, I think there was a book written or maybe I read it some where that was something like " Is just coffee or is it a date?"

Over the years I have learned how I handle these situations. I will state just for coffee or dinner. I will do this kind of hanging out not exclusively with one Femme. It is a toss up as to whether or not it I go dutch on the bill. It is definitely not a date if we go dutch, in my book.

When it comes to dating....and it has been awhile since I have dated, I date monogamously. I will ask about dating exclusively because for me, it is I have found something in that Femme that is attractive to me and I want to tempt the fates as to whether or not this would be the beginning of a romantic match... at which point it would turn into courting.

To me, hanging out is just that, socializing one on one. Dating, to me, is the prelude to finding the happily ever after, the white picket fence, and I can only do that monogamously.

There are those that can date multiple people.... I am one that cannot. You have to decide which fits you best and be open in your communication as to what you want and what is acceptable for you.

As I have gotten older, my needs have changed. At one time I was very open to long distance relationships. That option is no longer one that I can do. So, no matter whom I may be crushing on, unless they are willing to move here, I will not entertain the possibilities of dating. I have circumstances in my life that I cannot move. So, once I do decide to enter in the dating scene, it will be local....which there seems to be very few Femmes in this large metro area!

LipstickLola 08-30-2012 05:17 PM

I suppose I'll jump in here, lol. Id like to know what dating looks like, or, more accurately what A DATE looks like :glasses:

In my most recent (ended) relationship I was introduced by a mutual friend and it progressed quickly from dating to a monogamous r/s. After that, it just felt like hanging out all the time.

Sigh.....I'd like to be courted for a while and actually go on dates, real dates. The kind where you dress nicely, care about how you smell and maybe your palms get a lil sweaty, yanno?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders what in the hell a date is. And it would definitely be nice to have someone to court. The last person I was interested in...Things went way too fast, and then crashed and burned in a big way. I think I'd like to go a little bit slower next time and actually get to know the person. No reason why there should be any rush, you know?

Sue

It's always been my view point that things that go quickly do not last. Those that take time to build last much longer. How much time is time enough is different for everyone. I know it's hard to wait, especially when the other person melts you, but remember it will all the more worth it. Just my opinion. Okay?

Jaques 09-02-2012 07:07 AM

Im a bit old fashioned, i like to do the asking out but if i were asked out and wasnt sure it was a date I would definately make sure I was clear on what basis it was - on the other hand if you went out with someone and didnt want to see them again, it would be quite handy to be able to say "hey, I didnt know it was a date, i thought we were just hanging out" I like options............lol!:cigar2:

morningstar55 09-02-2012 07:32 PM

unwinding here....

just a note.. i am allowed passangers... but only room for 1 .. and have to be able to stay out a couple weeks or so.
