Not today but recently...
The book What Can We Learn from the Great Depression? Stories of Ordinary People and Collective Action in Hard Times by Dana Frank. A paint-by-numbers kit. This is delayed at Customs. Hope I get it. The cutest little ash trays for my canna sticks. A workbook by Michelle Obama. A drill-by-nuumbers kit. That arrived and looks good. |
I found and purchased the most amazingly perfect curtains on Amazon!!
I’ve never been so excited for curtains in my life. My windows have been wide open to the woods since I moved in. Plus they are wicked pretty! |
Avocados (7), two half gallons of “fit” milk by a local creamery, limes, a big Rotisserie chicken and a small bag of Asian slaw salad. Oh, and a small bag of coffee beans roasted up on the high desert (from the Bend, Sisters area). High Desert Sunrise. ☀️ My favorite coffee.

I had to buy a new blow dryer. Mine conked out the other day. And dang it, just as I donated my Mom's!
Heavy cream for coffee |
– B&W Laser Printer
– Humidifier – Electric Knife Sharpener – Plastic Cutting Boards that fit perfectly on the counter in my tiny kitchen Most of these items have been in my "save for later" cart for a while. Wasn't sure if I wanted to get them, maybe the price would decrease, could work with broken versions or do without, etc... Well, I decided now is a good time to get these items before the price jacks up from Trump's chaos. Hopiing I'm wrong, but I expect the worst with this one. :pursebee: |
My mom was having an angsty morning so I asked her if she wanted to go thrift shopping and that perked her up.
She didn't find anything she wanted but we picked out some nice stuff for my new home. I got a set of 10 green cloth napkins for $2 A Ruth Bader Ginsburg game Two fantastic ceramic bowls in a pretty retro orange color. A record of roller skating music from the 70s and from the free bin: A cookbook with recipes from the 1930s. I love reading those recipes. |
two medium sized spiral notebooks.
( Best Butch and I are going to start journaling) New pair of sunglasses. Super cute! ( I tend to collect sunglasses, but, all my spares broke and one I lost) |
A step ladder.
A butternut squash. Grapes. Cilantro. |
A new couch.
I was going to suffice with something from marketplace… but I couldn’t get anyone to deliver to me up on the mountain. There’s also the issue of smells and stains of used goods. Not saying I’m a germaphobe….. but…. Yeah |

My favorite cooling relief gel. I've bought this product for a couple of years. I love it on my knee and any leg cramps I get. Super wonderful on my tired feet. https://www.naturalescapes.com/cdn/s...3502&width=900 https://www.naturalescapes.com/cdn/s...3502&width=900 And then there is this...A woman's company Natural Escapes Body products are made from all natural, organic and wholesome ingredients that work together to nourish, moisturize and protect your skin. " I can buy myself flowers" and so I did.
Also groceries for the week. Including the good stuff.. Chili garlic cashews Guacamole Olive tapenade Strawberries, bananas, raspberries Edamame Oh and an eye exam. My eyes are good. Funny, a few years ago they got better and they haven't changed since then. Lol, at least my eyes are good. |
A pack with seven pairs of reading glasses. Usually I keep a pair in each room, but I have lost some and broken some until finally I am down to one pair that I carry from room to room. It will be great to have extras again.

Before we got inundated with tornado warnings, hurricane type winds and a fuckton of rain (right after last week’s snow storm :|), my brake lights (stop lamps, in the tail light sector of my car) decided to stop working, so today, for a small price, I took my car to the mechanic and they got it all sorted out (fixed). My car has more secrets than ever. The previous owners from California rolled this car, then fixed it up as if nothing like that ever happened, yet each year that goes by, I have to fix whatever really happened to this car.
My car is super cute, gets fabulous gas mileage (I only burn about $10 worth of Premium gas each week), but my car is full of secrets. But my mechanic is a fantastic detective. He shows me all its secrets each time it needs my mechanic to fix whatever goes haywire. $28 bucks for bulbs and time to chase down another “secret.” :eyebat: |
"laughing"
It was a filter kind of day. Filters for refrigerator. I really love the fact I can get both water and ice out of the door. Filters for the cat fountain. Nothing else. Not that exciting...still "laughing" |
Inexpensive, colorful tea towels to roll up dog treats in and tie in knots for the dog to play with

I bought a hair cut. About 3 inches was cut off and it stills hangs long on my back. ( About to my bra back)
Cat food and hairball goop for the kitty's. Maybe that will stop the awful sound of hacking up a hairball!! Lol |
I bought a couple of new sweaters for my foster dog and a new toy and a new collar. His mom was supposed to come get him today but she was a no-show so... figuring out next steps.

I bought a pack of 10 pair of underwear today. They were on end-of-season clearance for $20! (Usually $70.) And underwear is one of the things that's supposed to go up drastically with the new tariffs. So I got a great deal.
I also bought a biscuit. |
Haven’t yet, but on my way home I shall get…
Groceries at Trader Joe’s. I need some quick meals to make on workdays. And right now I’m working 7 days a week. So quick meals to make on LATE workdays. I’m also ordering the dogs food through Chewy And I have some pertinents in my Amazon cart. Most importantly, one of those wall racks that hold brooms and mops and such. I can’t stand the clutter any more! |
I ordered 4 cotton/linen sundresses. I don't plan on keeping all of them. Hmmm, but you really don't know for sure. 😎

Prescriptions, which I was really concerned about the cost - I lost my prescription insurance when I got Medicare. I did sign up for it as soon as I could, but it doesn't start until May 1, and now I have a deductible. Fortunately, I used GoodRx today, and it saved me a bundle. I'm saving my receipts; I might be able to itemize my taxes next year.

Because of the harrowing times we faced five years ago during Covid 19, I was smart enough to foresee T——p’s toxic grip on our nation of white nationalist haters, so I bought enough cleaning products and toilet paper to last at least a decade (until I die, I suppose).
I don’t need to buy anything made by a bazzillionare person or their business organization. I plan to buy all my veggies from local produce growers and I’ve got enough sundry goods (flours, leavening agents) to fix (bake) my own ‘bread’. The only thing I worry about is finding clean water. 💦 Also, I’m not buying any decision made by current members of the GOP or the US Supreme Court. I hope these people feel the heat from members of our US society who don’t buy their BS either. May you all experience the same hate driven cruelty as your instant karma soon. |
Today was a bigger employee discount, so I came home with two shower curtains. One a light blue bohemian print, cotton linen blend and a white linen one, light weight with a faggoting design running thru it. I know, what's faggoting?? I feel weird even typing that, but it's an embroidery stitch. And a linen blend v-neck tee in a flowery spring print. I'm going to use the shower curtains as fabric to make a couple of tops. I have to be creative about finding fabrics now. |
My forever home... I'm so happy. This is such a sweet little space with so much history. If you need me, I'll be lounging on the riverbank.
|
I’m not feeling well so Pete has to do a little shop at the coop.
This is her list: Chicken, eggs, indian frozen meals (two or four, please check ingredients for flour, etc for my flavor), matzo crackers, two cans wild planet tuna, nice big shallot or two, frozen mango |

Went to Joann's, and they finally had markdowns in something I wanted. 14 yards of flannel to use in my rag quilts. Some grease free muffin papers. |
