"No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater...The love we have for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that's the key. It's like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot." — Sarah Dessen |

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love for your dream for the adventure of being alive. It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon... I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain mine or your own without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy mine or your own if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful to be realistic to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy. I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure yours and mine and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes.” It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children. It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back. It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments. |
"I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

We're born alone, we die alone, and while we're here, we're absolutely completely sealed in our own bodies. Really weird. It kinda freaks me out to think about it. We can only experience the outside world through our own slanted perception of it.

Dog Philosophy
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue. --Anonymous Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful. --Ann Landers If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. --Will Rogers There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face. --Ben Williams A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. --Josh Billings The average dog is a nicer person than the average person. --Andy Rooney We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. Jones If I have any beliefs about immortality, it is that certain dogs I have known will go to heaven, and very, very few persons. --James Thurber If your dog is fat, you aren't getting enough exercise. --Unknown My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can. That's almost $21.00 in dog money. --Joe Weinstein Ever consider what our dogs must think of us? I mean, here we come back from a grocery store with the most amazing haul -- chicken, pork, half a cow. They must think we're the greatest hunters on earth! --Anne Tyler Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. --Robert A. Heinlein If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man. --Mark Twain You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' -- Dave Barry Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole. --Roger Caras If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then give him only two of them. --Phil Pastoret |
