Congrats on the weight loss!

Okay, after admiring the fabulosity of Medusa last time we had lunch, I got it together and went back to WW myself. I weighed in at 246, which would have been way overweight if I were a WNBA player. Ouch. So, I have a lot of work to do. That's OK! Luckily, I like all the "good" foods already and little of the higher-point foods.
I thought the leader was sixty, if that. She was eighty. OK, where do I sign?? WW has a new program, so there's a lot to read all week. If I don't track perfectly points-wise, I'll just get busy with the walking I'm supposed to be doing and filling on more good stuff. Heck, I have a whole thread to go through :). |
Welcome guihong!
Many of them in this thread are doing WW, so you'll have plenty of support in here most definitely! And there is tons of information in this thread, almost daily & the positive encouragement rocks.. now... *knock knock* Where IS everybody!? It's been so quiet in here these days.. i ..... i..... i..... miss youuuuu's... |
Hi healthies :)
Haven't forgotten you all, just so busy these days... I am getting back on track with my "giant salad" lunches more often, and have been going to Curves faithfully 3 days a week. Still in a holding pattern for my weight, but think that will change once I get back to my normal routine this weekend. Hugs to you all! |
I have nothing to add in terms of the thread topic, but as for one of our thread members...that's a different story.
Congrats on the weight loss, sylvie! I heard that Justin Bateman named his daughter Maple Sylvie and I thought of you. :stillheart: |
Looking for a workout tracker
Hey healthy people!!!
I am looking for a simple and free online program that I can use to track my workout progress. I used one a few years ago but I can't seem to find it. Any suggestions?? |

The daily plate tracks not only exercise but your food intake as well and will adjust them accordingly. You can see how well you are doing in terms of protein intake and how many calories you still have available, if you are on a caloric plan. |
Hey Healthies!
EEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!! This week has been super chaotic with lots of crazy stuff at work and too many dinners out. I checked the scales this morning and am up 4 pounds! Not upset about it, I expected it and knew that all of the dinners this week were not "best choice" type of dinners. Plan for today is lots of water, a nice session on the elliptical, and planning out my food for next week. I am setting a goal for myself to eat all meals at home or at least with things brought from home for the next week. This means I had to tell my coworker, Princess, this morning on our weekly Saturday bitch-a-thon that we won't be doing any Chili's this week because Momma can't be having a gain like that! She snickered and informed me that she had also gained 4 pounds this week due to too many chips and salsa. That's a testament to the calories. They don't discriminate whether your 280 pounds or 150 pounds! Best to us all this week! |

* Good Morning *
Just thought I'd stop by today and give a brief report on my own personal journey for being healthy.
Since the first of the year, I've lost another ten pounds - mostly it has to do with my new job. I'm working for a fuel company, working the 'islands', and I'm on the run for more than 8 hours, non-stop. I am pretty active anyway, but pushing more exercise into my day (or night) has been the magic 'ticket' toward acheiving success in becoming more healthy than I already am. I try to eat as healthy as I can and make room to include more beverages that are water based and not loaded too much with sugar. I try to get my sugar fix by lacing things with Molasses (I need the extra iron) and by eating things that do not include highly refined sugar bases: For example, I like to sweeten my drinks with Agave nectar or using raw brown sugar. My weakness is eating decadent cheesecake for breakfast or carrot cake. My stength might be in eating salmon, tuna, grain-fed portions of red meats or poultry that is raised cage free (I tend to stay away from genetically altered protein sources). I'm doing as well as I can. I think what works for me is pushing the element of more exercise, getting plenty of sleep and breathing as much air as possible (breath work) on a consistent basis. I'm wishing you all a beautiful day today, ~D |

Hey healthies!
I just love scrolling through fb and seeing those of you who have added me posting the positive changes you are making in your lives. It's honestly a blessing to be surrounded by so many people wanting healthier, happier lives!!! As most of you know, I've started a new relationship with a local (no y'all don't know her.....yet!) and I'm excited to share the things we are doing to stay healthy even in the throws of new relationship passion *wink wink* Linkety Link And for those of you who aren't on my facebook... I've posted a pic in my gallery of me wearing my new SIZE 20 PANTS!!!! I started off this journey wearing a size 30, and haven't worn a size 20 since probably 8th or 9th grade!! |

You are an absolute inspiration with all the work you're doing....and you also look fabulous by the way! I'm at that point where my capris, sweatpants and jeans are all feeling loose and some even baggy....but I'm not yet into my "goal pants" that I last wore about.....ummm.....10 years ago? They're size 18 (by the old sizes, not the new inflated ones) Apple Bottom jeans, and I love them. Right now, I can pull them all the way up, but they're skin tight and the button is about 4 inches from buttoning. :cheesy: I'll get there....and maybe be wearing them at Reunion. :) The crazy thing is that the jeans I wear most often and are feeling baggy are ALSO size 18....I had no idea that "size inflation" was such a real thing. It makes it hard for me to compare....I know I wore a size 12 in middle school, but what would that be now? No clue. Has anyone else experienced this? |

I hate being sick, this bronchitis has been preventing me form going to work out ~ its been atleast 2 to 3 weeks since it began and I'm only now starting to feel better. I'm still not 100% so I plan on taking one more week and then next week I'm getting back into the gym ........ I was doing so well and then this happened, luckily it hasn't completely killed my momentum I'll just make sure to go slow when I do get back and get into a routine again!
Candace and Sylvie's progress has really motivated me to work my ass off because hard work WILL pay off ........... of course, everyone here encourages me to take care of myself, which I'm doing more of now than I ever have before :) |
For those of you who don't like drinking water..
i learned a fun 'lil tip.. Fill an ice cube tray with some berries, and then pour lemon juice to fill each one.. Freeze them and drop one into your water for flavoring.. They're kinda cute to look at to, floating around in your water, heh.. i love berry flavors & lemon flavors.. Watched Dr Oz today, neat little trick i thought... |
Good morning healthies :)
I ate badly yesterday....not horribly badly, just too many carbs and not enough veggies kind of badly. I feel like I'm in a weird spot...like my body is literally struggling to keep from tipping under that 200 lb mark that it apparently likes so much. I'm still weighing daily (because that helps me) and it's 202, 203, 204, 202, 204, 203....crazy. Curves is being fantastic....3 days a week and have only missed one day due to illness (when I literally slept all day and felt much better for it). I sweat...I drink a lot of water...my heart rate gets up there....and I'm seeing and feeling the difference all over. I'm at that place of telling myself this stuff takes time. I didn't get this size overnight or in a month or even in a year....and it's going to take consistent, long-term changes (like exercise...traditionally one of my weakest points) to get it off and keep it off. Hugs to you all! |
I haven't lost any real weight in a few weeks. I refuse to get pissy about it (this after having a mini melt down over the weekend).
BUT I was just reading about how to lower the calories in lasagna and they had some good ideas. Exchanging the noodles for portabella mushrooms and cutting the beef with mushrooms as well. This has given me an idea to cook (maybe this weekend) a Mushroom Lasagna since both Gillian and I LOVE mushrooms. I'm drooling just thinking about it. oh - linkage :) http://blog.foodnetwork.com/healthye...-lightened-up/ |
Hey all you healthy peeps!
I'm sorry that I've been kinda absent lately, but hopefully life will start to get some kind of normalcy again soon. Hopefully D will feel up to getting back to the gym in the next couple of days... I think exercising will help her release some stress and start to get back to restful sleeping again (ok, that's for me too). I can tell you one thing about family crisis & funerals... folks LOVE to bring out the mass quantities of food! Honestly, it feels like we've been doing nothing but eating for a solid week. I didn't weigh this morning... only because I completely forgot until I went to chart my breakfast on WW. So, tomorrow I will update my progress... even though all the stress definitely brought out my emotional eating that I honestly couldn't stop. Moving forward... |
Jo, don't get down on yourself and by all means put that scale away... I have been *stuck* at hanging on to 200 pounds... I decided to just do a quick measurement and found that I have lost over 2 inches from my thigh... Sometimes it is about the inches and not so much the pounds... You got this!
