We had an outing today to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. The girls really enjoyed meandering along the river. I'm so proud that they love and appreciate nature so much..

Spent a wonderful afternoon in the park with a lovely lady, went for coffee and then back to my place where I cooked dinner for us. Made my day. *S

Actually it was yesterday and 2 things brought me a great deal of joy.

My little pocket-pittie, Jennifer Avery, went through her surgery with flying colors and prognosis is "heal and forget it!" I am so grateful. That was my primary joy. Yes, Daddy was extremely worried for little girl and keeping a tight lip about it.

The other thing ... heard from my ladies about home I am purchasing ... realtor and loan originator both contacted me and confirmed the close date which has been tenative up until now. They provided the lawyer's name who is handling it and said it would be at 1:00. I asked if they could manage to move it up sooner by about 5 or 6 days because I had a sweet deal on one of those huge moving trucks .... loan originator said no promises but she thought maybe so, would try, would let me know.

I am so tired, walking around in a daze. It will be okay. Things are falling into place. One step at a time. Once I get everything out of storage and in the home, I will start putting up the fence. My babies will have 2 friends that I know of already. Two small mixed labs came wandering out of the woods to police me while I was taking measurements of the yards last week. I am a stranger to them and, in their eyes, not supposed to be on the property so they were just doing their job. :) Jennifer and Kevie will be excited when they meet them. Jennifer is especially crazy about other dogs. Soon as I get settled and the time is right, I plan to locate another little young live wire (a male) pocket pittie. Kevie is older and gets tired of rough play sooner than Jennifer likes.

Chickens, a goat and minature pot-bellied pig will follow. Chickens are so cool!!! Now I am excited!!! Heh Heh!

Having the alarm go off for a very early client for my old job...dismissing it and getting to stay in my warm, cozy bed with my poodle...

Taking the scenic route to Maggie Valley. Listening to the water run over the rocks on the way up to Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock. Stopping in at The Cradle of the Forest for a visit..EVERYTHING mountain related brings me joy

We walked all around and took in the sights...

She got to experience Asheville's Friday night drum circle for the first time..

As we sat and watched, some people got up and danced. I heard her say "I want to do that.." so I told her go ahead and dance. She told me she didn't want to dance. She wanted to DRUM. So she did....

A very nice man showed her a few things on an extra drum and she played along for a song. Her sister watched her for a while and declared how brave her sister is....and how proud she is of her. I second that...

We went later to our favorite bakery and celebrated Rissas new job with cheesecake and coffee...

It was just such a perfect night :)

Laughter, affection, seeing my garden's progress, seeing a friend be recognized for the amazing mom they are to their daughter, dinner with friends, funny stories, and getting a phone call from my son!!! My day couldn't have been better!!

Attendance was at about 350 youth. The crowd of kids was so happy, so diverse, so happy, the energy was amazing. The outfits were to die for. The comments I heard as I stood outside waiting for pick up as hundreds of teens were passing by talking it up made my heart swell. Hearing my daughter ramble on about all of the outfits, what she liked, what she would wear, that all of the bathrooms in the building were gender neutral, seeing all of the kids be kind to each other... so good!

The owners of the home I will close on soon walked the property line with me this morning. I was delighted to meet them. They are a 30ish hetero couple, very nice.

Also, there is the most butchish woman who lives next door. She is 1 year younger than me, retired policewoman. She shook my hand so hard, thought she might crush the bones in it. Heh Heh! I believe she will be a funny character to get to know. All the homes include several acres. I cannot see neighbors on either side ... or the back either ... which is precisely what I wanted ... anyway, I did not have pen or paper but I told her I wanted to give her my cell phone number and asked if she minded giving me hers. I told her not to worry, I would not bother her and I was not at all a nosey busybody but I felt it would be good in an emergency situation since this area is so far off the beaten path. She said, "sure, we'll get together later."

Maybe I have a new butch buddy! :)

I finished putting my new place together today... and it feels good. Its just for me... Living alone is so new to me, in all my almost 34 years... I have never lived on my own. And even though its small... I found someplace for everything I needed.

What brought me joy is sitting on the couch next to ONLY. We are both browsing the forums and I think about all the miles and years between us and how we overcame it all. We are married. We are living together. I don't have to fear crossing the border anymore because I am a permanent resident of Canada. We can have a life together. This life. Right here. Right now. THAT is my joy! 😆

Life.Is.GREAT!!!!

So much to be joyful about today: I've been on vacation and will still be on vacation for several more days, but having breakfast with my son, and attending an small holiday gathering with friends today, brings a lot of joy to my life. :)
