Considering that it's a Bob Marley party, I am certain there will be an indoor grassy area.

What I learned at book club...

-some of us DO read Tolkien and admit it.
-some of us need to read less King before bedtime
-all of us know too many Monty Python quotes
-some of need tail-less dogs
-some of us faux read the books

Hee hee hee
Thanks for putting this together, and all the beautiful snacks (I realized after I left I forgot to taste one of the pretty pink treats)

See you at the next one! (but on Feb 25 not the 10th)

Puplove 01-30-2012 12:14 AM

Make that Feb 25, not the 10th!
After books, when we move into bunko, we can get wild and party.
If you aren't the reading type, come later for the bunko or the partying. You know Oiler will fire up the hot tub and stuff.

Let's see if we can REALLY piss June off.

thanks to you and goofy for hosting the first blue dolphin book club meeting. i'll find a higher place to put my drink next time.

i had a great time and enjoyed the discussion very much...even the veering away to more tolkeinesque topics and the things that nightmares are made of. i think the book club idea is a grand one and something i can look forward to each month (i'd still be up for every other week...just sayin')

see y'all next time!

Hey guys!

I read the kite runner last year, and it was just amazing!!! There was supposed to be a movie made, but I havent seen any info about it.

I also read his second book, "a thousand splendid suns".... again, really great! A new favorite writer!

Ps. The blue dolphin book club? That's so GAY! hehehe

Arwen 01-30-2012 11:57 AM

Kite Runner (2007) was made into a movie that was fairly well received.

I am sorry that I missed the book club, but being able to see Syzygy and my best friend, her daughter and granddaughter was good too.

Of course, I'm TIRED now. LOL

I am going to say yes to the book club and we shall see about bunko. :D

And as to the Tolkien stuff, y'all quit talking about me! :D

no worries Blush, this is what they do to me when I knock on their door.

What I have to do is go in the back yard. Wait for them to let the dogs in, and I follow the dogs in. sometimes i even getta doggie treat along with the dogs

IrishGrrl 02-01-2012 08:02 AM

blush,

I"m not sure I thought the second book was better. I actually liked the first one more. Only because I felt every emotion with the first one. The second one is excellent though, and not to be missed.

xo

I have downloaded the next weird book onto my Kindle. I shall stick my nose into it as soon as I can.
