So far, today, it's been nothing but use my brain day (mental olympics):
I've not kicked anyone into another galaxy; I've not cussed out one single soul; I've done nothing but contemplate how to expend all my pent up energy and have decided that going swimming, late tonight, is the best possible exercise to soothe my heart, body and soul.

My eyes will only dwell on one beautiful star in a constellation of many.

That's my Zen exercise plan for tonight.

*** it's still unbelievably gorgeous here today
(upper 70s to mid-80s durning the day,
upper 50s during the night) ***

Despite my best efforts I did manage a bit of exercise today. I had to go downtown to pick up some paperwork. The parking garage was really full - I had to park on the roof - 8 floors up! Not too bad going down the stairs but brutal going back to the car.
Stupid construction shutting down the stupid elevator!

You got some cardio in! Look at it that way! :koolaid:

I was incapable of anything but moving slowly with great pain today...at the time I was doing the workout it all felt good...challenging but good...now my thighs are so sore it's taking me a while just to sit and stand...lol I will remember NOT to just jump into the an intermediate work out again!

Swimming with my daughter earlier today, and now heading over to the hot yoga studio to sweat it out.

Rinse and repeat tomorrow hopefully!

Ok, so different day, same deal. 45mins of eliptical and about an hour of upper body. The difference is I increased the weight for almost all of the exercises.

My gym is at my job, but I have to run home at the end of the day to let the dog out and then head back for the gym. I joined the gym about a month ago with two of my coworkers to get my ass moving. Well twice this week I had to work out at home to save time, as I needed to be somewhere after the workout.

I found that my eliptical (that I never used on a regular basis since purchase), I really like much better than the one at the gym. I have the same set of free weights here that I use at the gym, as well. So, really I have no use for the gym. However, I don't want to let my buds down, though, so I think I will continue more days than not at the gym. It is also a social thing for me that I think is important I keep up.

Walked to the library and shot some free throws. Its hard to do with my shoulder but building the muscles will help the pain if I am gentle with it.

Yesterday went according to plan. Today will involve some of the same but a lot more golf cart driving. Weeee!

Ran about 3 miles . The stars were shining and the temps were mid 60's. No wind. Perfect. It felt good the whole way.

Daktari 06-06-2013 09:31 AM

Walking and more walking. Trying to do the same each day despite m'right hip still hurting from the bike accident. Going stir crazy not being able to get as far afield as I like.

So no kickboxers? I bought sneakers and some clothes to wear and a pair of gloves. A friend of mine and I are trying it the week after next (because I will be in MA next week). I am a pacifist but something about beating the crap out of a bag is appealing to me. I will update after I try it.

I decided to go into the gym today just to get out of the house (I have the same equipment here I use there).

There was only two women there and one guy. I love my empty gym!

Anyway, I did the usual 45 eliptical and hour of upper body.

The :dog: = 20 minute brisk walk (lame, I know, poor guy). I am such a shitty Daddy since I joined the gym! I will make it up to him, I promise!

Would be nice if we could go hiking tomorrow, but I am getting together with my car buds to do some fun modifications to my car/stuff on their cars, so the pup must wait for another day to hike!

First I went to the elliptical at the gym. While I was on the elliptical, I saw the gym obsessive, Jill, was on the Stair Master next to this other woman and that they were chatting. I tried listening but could only hear muffled words. I remain curious about Jill, and this was a rare treat to hear her have a conversation with someone besides a trainer, so I waited till I hit 15 minutes on the elliptical, and then went bounding up the stairmaster next to them and did 15 minutes listening to them. Jill said she was dating five guys in that way of casual dating. Wow, how does she have the time? It was a juicy tidbit, worth sweating it out on the stair master for. Then I did an hour of weight lifting, abs, stretching, yoga and stuff before leaving.

Yesterday I volunteered setting up bowling pins for two hours for kids with special needs as part of a field day with different stations. I think all that did for me physically was strain my back. Mentally it was a great feeling to see the look on children's faces when they succeeded in knocking the pins down, even if it just involved a slight push to the ball down a ramp, whatever they could manage. Then I'd put a little medal around their neck. They loved it, and so did I. :)

Walked quite a few miles and found 8 out of 11 geocaches. My legs are sore as fuck.

Rockinonahigh 06-08-2013 10:55 PM

Today I rode a solid four miles on my bike, plus did quite a fue diffrent exersises on my workout stations, all told I did 45 minits with plenty of water dureing the workout to go with all the sweat that was driping off me..I feel real good about this best one yet.

Bad_boi 06-09-2013 06:21 PM

My legs were sore today but I got a golf disc as a gift so I took it out for a spin. I have yet to play at a corse but I was able to throw the disc though an improvised target pretty well.

45 mins on the treadmill...got up to a pretty good incline and speed. I just can't seem to RUN on it. shrug.

(and a two hour bubble bath after!)

Today was landscaping. Mowing and trimming hedges, cutting back some trees and freeing up a blackberry patch. All whilst watching my guy do edging and more artistic landscaping than I would ever think of doing. The girl child was planting annuals in her two claimed garden areas and working on her rock walls. We all got a good workout!

DapperButch 06-09-2013 06:35 PM

Sweating my ass off under the hood of a car for several hours. Some of the bolts were hard to get off. Does that count? :|

I've done kickboxing. It was a little too choreographed for me at first, but I got into it for a while when I belonged to a gym. I can still strike a pose when needed :slapfight:
