DamonK 05-11-2010 06:21 PM

My 11 year old Corgie has a fungal skin infection and it breaks my heart to see her miserable. She is more than a dog.. she is MY child... well.... now Daddys.. he has to claim her whether he wants to or not especially when he is giving her iodine baths because I am allergic to iodine..

I am from Maine and never had lobster due to said Iodine allergy.. I hear that is a sin..

I have an obsession with starting seeds.. I love to see them sprout up and take on new life... Then life takes over and I seem to not remember to plant them in time... ummm.. so says the plants in my livingroom that should be the ground already...

I have a beta fish in my kitchen that I promised Daddy I would take to work last July... hes still in the kitchen...

I have a problem with feeling insecure and apologizing repeatedly to Daddy for things that I do not need to apologize for... This is deep rooted and he gently redirects me to think positively and know there is nothing to apologize for...

Soft*Silver 05-11-2010 07:59 PM

when i was young, I had a wishnik coloring book that I loved so much. I colored in it so carefully and treasured it so much. I thought the cover was brilliant and it was thicker than most. I felt so lucky to have that book. Yet, I have no idea when it stopped existing in my childhood...where it went or why.

I was raised by parents who were first generation American and blue collar, farmers and steel workers.

I didnt know sheets came in sets or that silverware could match or that dinnerware included a saucer for the cup and a cup was not the same thing as a coffe mug, until I was 18 years old or later

I almost swallowed mercury as a child. And almost stuck a hairpin in the outlet at the bottom of a telephone/electric pole as a teen. I escaped my lack of commonsense to grow grey...

I went to a Boy George concert right after I gave birth to my daughter..I had a huge crush on him..go figure!

SassyLeo 05-11-2010 08:34 PM

If your caloric intake wasn't set by a doctor and is monitored regularly by said doctor and will only be for a short time, there's a reason it's hard. It's unrealistic.

I am 5 feet one and a half inches tall and I think you are taller than me. I weigh about 140 now and my MINIMUM caloric intake (verified by a health professional) is 1300 calories. That's the lowest I can go without doing damage (either temporary or permanent) to my body. Someone taller and/or larger than me would require more calories than just over 1000 per day.

I am genuinely worried about this number. I'm sorry if it seems as if I'm butting in (okay, I am butting in) but this feels wrong.

Having said that, I miss living in Daytona, because I also enjoyed walking the boardwalk and strolling on the beach (though I preferred the quieter, more private beaches further down).

I'm stoked for you for college. Good luck!

* I used to have a subscription to the Journal of the American Medical Association magazine and I miss it like CRAZY. As soon as I have an extra $165, Im getting it again.

* I also had a subscription to "American Funeral Directors" magazine and am fighting the urge to renew that one as well.

* I have a stack of journals that is about 3-feet tall on my nightstand. Beside the nightstand is a stack of books that is also 3-feet tall. YIKES!

* Im seriously considering getting the first tattoo that I ever had done removed with laser.

* I always secretly wanted to be a fashion designer (amongst dozens of other passions) and love making clothes and accessories.

5 Motor Things -

1) I've been over 110mph but under 120 mph on my Harley...I couldn't tell exactly because the vibration made the speedo look all fuzzy
...btw - don't try this at home.

2) I was hit from behind by a blue-hair late for her appointment. It caused over 5k damage to my motorcycle and all I suffered was a sprained wrist.

3) The front tire of my motor washed out when I hit gravel going around a corner and I ended up riding my butt to a stop. I will never ever ever wear any other colored underwear to work but black...yep, hanging out there for all to see.

4) I look like a bobble head in my helmet...big helmet, little pinhead.

5) I have a fear of riding over a truck bed liner in the middle of the night on the freeway...would it fold up on me like a giant Harley Taco ? Or would I go sliding over the roadway like ice? What would happen?

Bonus
6) Who knew when I was a kid watching C.H.I.P.S....lol

Enchantress 05-12-2010 07:41 PM

flits of fluff

1. I must be the first one to read any magazine that I purchase. If it's wrinkled and the pages are smudged it makes me feel pouty.

2. I sometimes think I've spoken but really the conversation (or what I believe I've said to someone in the conversation) has been in my head (don't judge)

3. I have a current obsession with chick peas, artichoke hearts, feta cheese and olives (usually all together)

4. I have four pairs of spectacles yet never know where any of them are. This makes reading quite difficult.

5. When I'm feeling a blue I will put on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. It always makes me smile.

Medusa 05-14-2010 11:00 AM

1. People often think I am MUCH older than I really am and it doesn't bother me one bit. I kinda take it as a compliment :)

2. I have a human leg skeleton hanging in my closet next to a ballgown. Yes, really.

3. I love to give gifts to people but I am the world's shittiest gift-giver when it comes to things that are "appropriate".

4. I am drawn to people with interesting teeth. I like gapped teeth a LOT.

5. People used to stop me when I was much thinner and had bangs, thinking I was Wynonna Judd. I was once MOBBED at the Memphis Flea Market by a crowd of about 50 people demanding my autograph. It's kinda funny because, aside from red hair and being fat, we really don't look all that much alike.

Andrew, Jr. 05-14-2010 01:13 PM

1. I enjoy hummingbirds. I have oodles of them at both my front and backyard. :goodscore:

2. I have low self-esteem.

3. I used to follow the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, but stopped following both teams. They both stink. Now I am a Phillies fan. :football:

4. I am not romantic. :overreaction:

5. I would like to own a woodie - specifically 1946 Mercury or Ford Sportsman or 1940 Garwood Ford Super Deluxe Woodie. :carride:

Lillie 05-14-2010 02:30 PM

I want to learn to dance ballroom style :tango:

I use to eat food off the floor when I was a child

I can burp louder than anyone I know ! :sigh::tease:

I always find fault in my food when going thru the drivethru :sadangel:

I use to play World of Warcraft and switched from alliance to horde :bolt:

Kätzchen 05-14-2010 03:50 PM

:blueheels: That it takes me forever and a day to type something out!

:blueheels: I have six sets of tweezers (some work, some don't)

:blueheels: I love to collect bottle caps and marbles

:blueheels: I also collect huge sugar pinecones

:blueheels: I'm fussy about the type of bras I like to wear (as well as shoes)

Enchantress 05-14-2010 04:10 PM

Motes of fluff

1. I love graham crackers. They are extra delicious with frosting on them (no, really, ask my grandma)

2. There are times when I talk so fast that people actually have thought I'm speaking a foreign language. If it's a close friend they will say (when I've finished and with a strange look on their face) "Once more and in English this time please" (I can't help it I have a lot going on inside my head. Don't judge)

3. The end of a holiday always makes me feel sad. When I was a little girl my mother would always find me crying in my room at the end of the evening. I believe it's because the day was very special and I'll miss it.

4. There is one exception to the rule above: I dislike my birthday intensely. In fact it's quite normal for me to go into existential crisis a month or two prior. Oh and I get a bit sad (on top of the dislike)because I've yet (for many many years) to have the *perfect* (or so I would consider) birthday. Which, by the way, would include either a cake or a cupcake with a ballerina in a tutu (vintage), on top. Of course with pink sparkly frosting.

5. I have lived in my apartment for a little over a year now and haven't even hung a picture. I'm thinking it's time to nest, if only just a bit (since I'll be here one more year). I hope I *feel* it soon because it's a rather stark space.

bigbutchmistie 05-14-2010 04:24 PM

I am absolutely picky about the dates I choose

I have a type

If I dont feel a spark from jump its not going to develop

I can be very "black and white" about my thinking... For example it is or it sint. LOL

I wouldnt move for love, but I would meet someone here in DFW and then move if she was the right one.

AtLast 05-14-2010 05:48 PM

I am lousy at catching on to satirical or sarcastic commentary- really lousy at this! Must be a chemistry thang.....

I just won't date a woman that I find intellectually lacking. I just can't do it. And yes, sometimes, I think I am a snob about this which doesn't feel good internally.

The older I get, the less I care about what other's think of me and even less about those that talk about others behind their back - and those that listen. GRRRRRR...

I'm tenacious and persistent in getting to the bottom of things. Relentless, really when I or someone I love has been fucked with. Sometimes, I think this is a burden.

I really don't suffer fools well. But will go to the ends of the earth for people that I know are genuine and truthful and trustworthy.

Soft*Silver 05-14-2010 06:04 PM

I can be offended easily and have to hold back my first reaction when that happens because I know I am a bit sensitive

andrews list made me think...

:penguin: I get a kick out of playing Naive at first with strangers when they assume I'm very young {Campus LGBT center director kept saying it would be difficult for me to Mingle, most are 18, stick together, being 23 would be slightly difficult...I shrugged and said, "I'm not a cougar, nor am I cruising, besides, they were probably in pampers, if born at all, when I had my first kiss" :sunglass: }

:penguin: When I'm in a really rotten mood, I'll watch Psych. Thrillers, or Slasher Horror to feel better.

:penguin: I'm a polyglot & self-taught sommelier.

:penguin: also a very very.....veryveryvery picky chocoholic.

:penguin: My eyebrows are very thin, and almost Blond, which makes way too many people erroneously assume I pluck them...and considering more than half assume I'm a teenage boy...well..-shrug-

Venus007 05-15-2010 10:47 PM

Cool clean reason

-I think first and feel later (this is a double edged sword)
-I sometimes come off as unemotional when in reality I feel things quite deeply I just don't show every emotion I feel when I feel it.
-I am SUCH an INTJ (this should explain some of the above)
-Although I am quite comfortable comforting someone who is upset when it comes to people who live their lives at a high level of emotional reactivity, I am at a confused loss as to how to deal with them.
-I am working on the above, but sometimes it feels like learning another language, a non romance language

cane 05-16-2010 12:37 AM

JustLovelyJenn 05-16-2010 11:18 AM

1. I think lists should always have bullets or numbers, and I work hard to sometimes form ones that dont.

3. I am more confortable with things I know, to the extent, that I am still listening to the same music I was in high school, and it takes me a long time to add anything new.

4. I really HATE to be alone, especially when I am working on things like cleaning.

5. I love airplanes, and if I could take a trip that required being on an airplane twice a year, I would be overjoyed.

I love tomato sammiches (MW for me, though) and a sprinkle of salt. I'll sometimes use whole grain bread instead of the fluffy white filler stuff when I'm needing to feel like I'm eating 'well'.

I don't salt many foods. Mainly raw tomatoes, raw potatoes, and watermelon.

I sugar my cantaloupe.

I have a very eclectic taste in music.

Garcia MAKES Criminal Minds! I almost cried when she got shot.
