News from the sports medicine doctor I'm seeing about my knee injury. Got the results back from the x-rays and ultrasound today, and it seems it's not what my doctor originally thought. She'd said it was likely that the ligament had been stretched from the impact, though not torn, and so it would just need restrengthening in order to rehab it. The results today showed that there's actually a small crack in the cartilage. Apparently surgery does not help, and running, jumping and participating in contact sports (check, check, check) will likely widen the crack. He suggested I start acupuncture to relieve the pain so I can start being active again. Won't do anything about the cartilage, but I don't want to stop doing what I love.
I read about this nanofiber gel they've been doing research on at Northwestern University, that apparently can cause cartilage to regenerate...I hope they hurry the hell up with it. I would gladly be a guinea pig on this one if it means I get my knee back to the way it was. |
What work do I need to do on myself? Jeep Sakes, ya' mean this still goes on after retirement? Phooey!

im wondering why am i not sleeping again!! i spent another day in the dental chair and have taken alot of the pain killers but still no sleep!! make my mind wonder.. could be dangerous... but when you start not feeling at home in your own home is it time to move? or maybe time to get new furniture.. i hate moving.. maybe i should just go on my planned road trip and see how it feels when i get back.. i need to decide by the end of sept if i want to stay here in az or move up to wyo. wish i could keep doing both. wyo is beautiful but so friggin cold in the winter and az is almost year round motorcycle weather but to but way to hot for 5 or 6 weeks out of the year. hmmm

When will the economy rebound? So many are having such an awful time and our coingressional leaders haven't a clue about the day to day struggles of just plain working people!!! The unemployment extension passed today is not going to help as many people that need it and won't do a thing for job creation. I'm glad it passed, but, people need some damn hope about our actually getting out of this economic slump and some economic stability.

Another night of insomnia and a big day tomorrow. There are pleasures in the quiet ship of the night but oh the pain during the bright day tomorrow, or rather later today. I am hoping that if I stay up 24 hours that tomorrow at 11:30p I will fall into blissful solid sleep. One can hope.

I'm thinking about....
Eventually finding homes for the sweet kitties we recently rescued. They are so adorable and deserve a good home instead of being "fixed" and released. I plan on getting them "fixed" (when/if I can afford to) but have a hard time with releasing them to fend for themselves one day.
