I know exactly what you mean
For as much as my crush list has more than one, I have that BIG one and it oversees all the rest and leads me
I know the only way for me to move forward one way or the other is to meet this crush face to face
It was going to happen within weeks, but at the moment I have health issues that I'm dealing with right now
I am however not down and out because I have faith and hope
My belief is, if something is meant to be, it will, no matter how long it takes

I can relate to this too. I have many crushes on many different levels but I do have one or two of those HUGE ones, the ones that push all of the rest aside or lead to having the list vanish

Did anyone give anything to their crushes for Valentine's day? Did anyone receive any nice surprises from admirers?

Due to icy conditions, I tripped and fell when walking on my way to work last Monday. Fortunately, it was still dark so I don't think anyone saw me. However, if that's what crushing leads to, I'm outta here :)


I'm not a Valentine's Day person in any way, shape or form i.e. I don't want to be told or shown how to be romantic (which, by coincidence, always appear to involve spending money on tacky rubbish).


That said, I did receive a Valentine's Card on Thursday which was anonymised. It was sent from UK and was addressed to an office address that I haven't had for about two and a half years (I am still in the same office but now on a different floor etc). Not very many people I know socially would have my work address but I'm not sure who sent it.


I think I've only received Valentine's Card two times in my life where I wasn't certain who they were from. To be honest, I find the whole thing a bit weird .... I mean if I liked someone, I'd either send them a card with my name in it or I wouldn't bother. But maybe that's just me and I realise I'm a lot more grumpy than most folk around here :)

Grumpy? Not one little bit.(insert sarcasm) Slightly combatitive. Yet, exceptionally charming...smiles..

The difficulty when someone pays me a compliment is that I find myself needing to be polite to them and less grumpy. That upsets my equilibrium as I get stressed out when I don't have my grumpiness as a comfort blanket.

I wonder if it isn't more comfortable to "know" Valentines is just another day than to have just met someone and all the emotional changes and such are happening. Not so sure I deal with the latter well.....:vigil:

I agree, there is. Though I have been enjoying my floating, I was very lucky to have a couple of very special valentine's this year.

Unexpected VDay Cards
 

I did get 2 Vday Cards that I did not expect. Those were nice surprises.

I gave a sweet card to a lady I am courting...but she isn't on this site....No one gave me anything but that was ok because I spent the time with a love interest.... :rrose:
