I'm Evan -- I go by Vanya (Russian-style nickname, from my father's side of the family). I'm a life-long out dyke who is finally, at 60-ish, owning that I'm trans.

And I'm dead happy to have found this forum, which seems like a good place to hang out and maybe get some support as I figure all this out...

Welcome! You will find a lot of trans* people here (FTM, male-identified but not transitioning, etc). If you haven't checked it out already, look for the Trans Zone for some great threads.

I'm glad you are on the path to embracing your true self.

Vanya 08-03-2013 06:18 PM

alexri, thanks for the welcome.

I've poked around here quite a bit, enough to get a sense that this is an actual community, which is rare on the interwebz... I'm looking forward to being a part of it, and I hope I have something to offer others here.

I was that kid -- drove my mother crazy from day one because I refused to wear skirts, spent my birthday money on toy trucks, and wanted to be Clint Eastwood when I grew up.

I've always passed as a guy about half the time in casual interactions (grocery store, etc.)... I've always preferred "Sir" to "Ma'am... etc., etc., etc.

So here I am, and it's weird, scary, but pretty exciting to be coming out all over again, and deciding (literally) what to make of myself.

And I'm dead happy to have found this forum, which seems like a good place to hang out and maybe get some support as I figure all this out...

Wait. No. What?

A real community? Us?

:D

You found us. I'm glad.

Welcome to the Planet, Vanya. I have a dear bioboy friend who is a Vanya (and Russian, 1st gen US).

If you have questions, ask. We are here to help and we are glad you are here.

I know you just got here, but consider joining us in Little Rock in 56 days for the Planet Reunion. You and yours would be very welcome. :)

Morning all.

Found these boards by accident and from looking around today it seems like just the place i'd like to hang out.

I'm from England, so forgive me if it takes me a while to get to grips with some of the terminology you use here as it appears most of you are based in the States.

I'm just shy of 30, work in education and identify as myself. There's lots of identities and i'm a mixture of a few, but I edge more towards butch than anything else.

Hello there!

I'm kind of still new here myself, and I'm just across the pond! Makes a nice change to see someone from this side of the World! Lol

Welcome! :)

Hello Jonas! Seems like you did a fine job on your intro. Welcome to the site. What part of PA did you move to? Good luck with your surgery!
