Good morning everyone :)

Coffee is on...

http://www.weirdomatic.com/wp-conten...fee_art_06.jpg

Haven't decided what to have for breakfast yet, but plain ol' eggs over easy and toast is sounding pretty darn good.

I've been productive already....cleaned the pool, potted some lavendar I got on the weekend and had forgotten about (oops!), fed and watered critters....now I just need to go be productive for work!

Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug:

:lips: to my sweetie...sorry you couldn't sleep!

Good Morning Everyone,

I have today off from work, so I may play the Sims3 after I clean the apartment. I was very lazy yesterday and did nothing, but watch episodes of, "The First 48" on NetFlix until I had to go pick Matt up from the train station.

I am adding some Greek Yogurt to Jo Jo's breakfast..Thank you Jo Jo for breakfast! I had eggs over medium with whole wheat toast the other morning and it was delicious!

Hugs,

Zimmy

Good morning everyone :)

I've been up and made coffee, done "pool duty" and a little bit (not enough) of work for work...more of that to come for sure.

We had a minor ant invasion last night (freaky)....so Scoote and I were doing late night clean up of the kitchen floor and putting down ant bait. So far, so good this morning....none to be seen.

How about something a little different for breakfast?

http://www.austinpost.org/files/arti...-breakfast.jpg

When I was traveling in Germany, many years ago, we stayed in people's homes and were usually served the breakfast they ate....usually bread, meat, cheese, maybe a hard-boiled egg....lots of protein. Since I'm trying to eat differently, that was on my mind this morning. It was always good, and left us fueled up and ready for a busy day with no hunger until lunchtime...

Hope you all have a great day! :gimmehug:

YAY!

i confess that i have gone in twice and extended mine, although we still will not be arriving until Friday afternoon due to Mr. Jenny's company being lame. I keep adding time to the journey home so we can stop for a hot bath and then some gambling

Unfortunately pizza is not so much on my new eating plan :)

We had baked chicken, fried potatoes (with the skins on, cooked in olive oil with a little diced onion) and steamed broccoli. It was delicious!! :eating:

[QUOTE=JustJo;401009]Unfortunately pizza is not so much on my new eating plan :)

I eat pizza, but I make a whole wheat crust....did I read someplace you want to cut down on wheats? then I brush it with EVOO sprinkle my fresh herbs, fresh tomatoe slices, spinach mushrooms what ever in the veggies
I crush fresh garlic and sprinkle that over then use mozzarella (fresh, has less sodium) and slice it, so each slice of the pizza gets one slice of the cheese......it's good. Then you are not eating that bleached out white dough and not alot of cheese.

No sauce to make an acid belly either. And the crusts are easy to make...especially if you have a bread machine.....(i don't) I go to a bread store and buy the dough! .....sprinkle benefiber over the top!

JustJo 08-19-2011 06:52 AM

Good morning everyone :)

I think the boys can still have their pizza night if they want it, but I'll make something else for myself. I'm having really good results with this new eating plan...the scale is dropping, my blood sugars are good and I'm just starting to feel better even though it's only been (barely) a week.

I'm cutting way down on grain-based carbs...so only the equivalent of 2 slices of bread and a single normal sized potato a day....but ironically I'm eating more fresh fruit and legumes (which are also a bunch of carbs of a different sort.)

I think Kelt is right, and this way of eating is higher in the low glycemic carbs....slower to digest, easier on my system, and keep my metabolism higher. For whatever reason...it seems to be the right thing for me.

And Scoote's right...dinner last night was awesome if i do say so myself...just one of those meals when it all turned out perfectly. Love that!

Best news of the day, week and month......I get to go pick up Rooster at the airport today! :cheer:

Hope you all have a great day, and Happy Friday!

Yikes....I almost forgot....coffee's on! :cheesy:

Thanks for the coffee.......I'm waiting on the rain, we need it, and I have things to do inside, but would rather go kayaking. ZENNNNN!

You are correct Jo, different things work for different people. Other than oatmeal, I also avoid the grains. I had brown rice once this week and I'll have something else in the bread family this week end. I avoid BLONDES at all costs. I pretty much eat all fruits and vegtables and almost everything is uncooked. But sometimes I do cook, as I like to cook. But, back to ...different things work for different people.

Your link to the sleep/eating/over eating hit home for me. I know when I am tired, I don't always recognize that I am tired, and i'll be in the kitchen looking for food. Thats really a test of my will power, to get out of the kitchen, empty handed, and to go to bed.

Glad to read your son his returning home. He will have grown two inches.

I keep meaning to say congrats to Zimmy, having secured another position at her fairly new job!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Zimmeh 08-20-2011 07:44 AM

Good Morning Ms. Snow,

The states that we have to travel through, won't know what in the world hit them!!! I am super excited!!

How are you doing today?
