Thank God for the new episodes of Norsemen on Netflix. I thought clever ribald humour had totally dried up in this time of The Plague.
There was binge joy in this household |
Got a haircut and then spent a little time with Mom

The fantastic sunset that just wrapped up for the evening…

my pocket-pittie, Jennifer
My little pocket-pittie named Jennifer Avery brought me joy and a whole of of laughter a few minutes ago. When she finished her breakfast, she weaved around Kevin and Jeffrey(still eating) came over to me with the biggest pittie grin, smacking her lips ... and summoned me to put my face down to her. She gave me the biggest kisses on my cheek. Today they all got a can of 3.5 oz Cesar wet food mixed with a little water in their dry food. It is Jennifer's favorite. She is so funny, she thinks it is the bomb ... I always get appreciation kisses from her when she gets the Cesar food. I am still laughing ... she is sitting here so close, her little peepers are glowing with satisfaction. LOL! I love all three of my dogs more than ANYTHING in the world!

I read this quote and remembered why I stick around with people who laugh loud and regret very little..
Rosalind Russell in the titular role of Auntie Mame howling, “Live! That’s the message! Life’s a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!” |

Auntie Mame is my FAVORITE movie of all time!!! Where else would you hear "idiotic cockeyed nincompoopery"? |
Helping someone get home and out of the heat. Helping always brings me joy

My job. I love working at this group home/assisted living place with these amazing folks with traumatic brain injuries! Wish I had found this place a long time ago.:jester:

Going to the farmers market this morning to see my favorite vendor. I absolutely adore that old man.
Then delivering a large load of produce to my favorite elderly couple. They sure do love local peaches! |
An amazing sunrise and sunset, what a great way to bookend the day!
|
My favorite neighbor's response when I delivered a big box of peaches and a big box of sweet corn and asked her if she needed help...she promptly placed her hand on her hip, tilted her head and was so cute when she got sassy with me, then told me the peach jam would be ready Monday.
Another thing that gave me joy was mailing care packages to two friends. I had a lot of fun putting them together. |

I'm jealous, your getting homemade peach jam! |
Being with my nephews.
Finding that our first ear of corn is ready for harvest. Giving my nephew round two of birthday gifts. Round one was on his birthday, last month, a social distance outside play in the park day and I gave him a 5 lb weighted stuffed unicorn. My daughter has a 5 lb weighted stuffed dragon and he really wanted one of those too so I got him the dragon for his delayed birthday party today. He loved it and so did his cousin and they shared him really nicely. |
Hot air balloons! Every Friday Saturday and Sunday evening about an hour before sunset an outfit across the valley for me launch is anywhere from 3 to 6 of them for a sunset float down the valley and out over the coast then they head out south to I’m not sure where…
I love to sit out on the terrace and watch them floating overhead drifting off into the sunset. https://israel-extreme.com/wp-conten...oons-1-1.jpg// |
Plumaria tree right outside my office door. Smells amazing in the warm evening air.

In the next few months I will get plumaria and jasmine at my house. |
A very unplanned camping/fishing trip.

Loki is so dopey and enamored with his person that any time I even get close to the ground...for example, bending over to pick up shreds from the cat tree...he thinks that I want to play and it's an invitation to come and flop down on my feet for belly rubs.
I've said it for years now; I'm pretty sure he's part doggo. He's goofy but I adore him to pieces and he and Gracie both bring me great happiness. She has been allowing more touch lately so I'm taking joy in that as well. As a cat with a thick feral streak, any steps towards 'normalcy' are big. |
Getting a haircut! :mohawk:
Being used to every four weeks pre-covid this business of once every three months between shutdowns is problematic. Reveling in the joy today for sure. :cheesy: |
My cat, Posey Spitfire, taking time out of her very busy schedule to allow me to cuddle with her. Best 7 seconds of my day.

Putting my "Away" message on my email and voicemail. One week vacation... here I come!

10 mi. bike ride :)

I thought it was my groceries being delivered this evening when someone knocked on the door but it was UPS with an unexpected package that turned out to be a surprise care package from my oldest and best friend in all the world. It was filled with professional salon samples {he's a hairdresser}, a travel sized flat iron lol, a teaball and so many other random items. I think he just goes around the salon and his house with a box tossing stuff in it! LoL Oh, and some green witch legs on a fuzzy green headband because that's something I would wear? LoL Never! But.... because I love him so much, yup I'm wearing it even as I sit here writing this.

I made a sale today! I have one more that I hope goes through as well. I also got my flooring project scheduled. I'm super excited about that. Happiness and joy abounds today!
|
Today I got my sweet cat microchipped. I should have done this before one of them escaped in July.
I got a kitten a week ago after giving up hope on finding the cat that escaped. I also had lunch with a high school classmate. We had about 42 years to catch up on, LOL! |

Nothing, so as per Marie Kondo I tossed everything out! |
Bevi waving me into the kitchen this morning and pointing towards the pond. Our heron was back! Maybe it is not the same heron but we usually have a yearly heron visit. There he stood patiently frogging, waiting for his breakfast to swim by. That pond has provided us with so much entertainment and enjoyment over the years. In the spring we are visited by Merganser, Mallards and Wood ducks on their travel home. A month ago I looked out to see a river otter in there having a big ole' time. We recently had a turtle hatching and now have 4 little turtles swimming around looking for a treat of bread or mealworms when we walk down. The dogs will wade in if it's too hot out as will the horses on occasion. The 5 year old grandson drags everyone down there so we can watch him try his hand (literally) at frogging. Who knew a little spring fed pond in the woods would bring us such joy.

When I woke up and remembered it was Sunday not Monday. Yay!
Then I remembered I can watch football today too. What a day! :cheer: |
Joy
My friend texted hello this morning. I have missed her. Great way to start the day.

Tonight's joy: I had a good day at work and was productive with cleaning the craft room tonight as well. Also, I'm going to read more of a good book before bed. |
Moving my daughter to her new apartment today. Myself, my daughter, and her bestie, who was helping, all showed up in matching Black Lives Matter hoodies. We all work together and our organization produced the hoodies, but we hadn't planned on a dress alike day. So now we look like a new moving company in uniform. Maybe we will get a side hustle.
Also. Stepped out of move in stuff with Daddy for a few while my daughter and bestie set up the living room. When we came back she had her record player set up playing one of my Grateful Dead albums and was burning NagChampa incense and setting up the vibe for her new home. Perfect settling in, in my opinion. |
I was going through some papers and found an old birthday card from my grandparents. They have both been passed for many, many years. It was good to hear from them again.

For a while now I’ve been scouting around for better sources for regular grocery shopping. Today I found my dream grocery store, the entire store (and it’s pretty big) all organic, no GMO products, all animal products grass or natural feed, pastured, and certified humane, no refined sugar allowed in any products, supports local farmers and vendors and a great deli too! My perfect store.
Why yes, it does cost a fortune, but it’s worth it to me. :cheer: |
I had a lovely time at my friend's birthday party. She's such a beautiful soul and deserves the world.
|
I introduced Loki to a deshedder tool and a clipper tonight and he behaved wonderfully. I see a lot less shedding in our future!
|
Good on you easy for having a daughter that even KNOWS what a record player is. I am thinking your girl is gonna be just fine.

It's happening tomorrow! Finally, I'm getting new flooring. Oh, geez. I hope the cats behave and go into their hidey hole quickly and with little fuss and I hope that I love it when it's done. I also hope they won't have to use leveler. Can't tell now because of the carpet so it's a valid concern.
While that is tomorrow's joy (hopefully), today has been about prep for tomorrow so today has been joyful as well. Plus, I had chicken pot pie for breakfast so that made me quite happy too. |

See's Candy order packing and shipping screw up! The J O Y came when I called to complain about it and was told to keep the 2 lbs box of screw up and enjoy it on See's and they'd ship to correct order out tomorrow....:eatinghersheybar: |
