30 min. on the stairmaster.

Ok, I admit it... I'm getting a little tired of watching Toddlers and Tiaras :).

FireSignFemme 05-29-2018 07:17 PM

More of the same for me - hefting boxes around. I'm trying to clean out the back room. My son came over, saw the mountain of boxes ready to go to donations or the dump (which has doubled since he was last here) and let out an audible groan. I told him he doesn't have to do it I'll hire someone. He said no he'll do it why waste the money. Lol I think he's probably afraid if I have have to wait to find someone I'll re-think it and start putting everything back. Let me tell you it has been tempting. I have some really neat stuff.

Lots and lots of manual labor today at work.

One hour on the treadmill watching YouTube muckbang videos

nycfem 06-03-2018 07:25 PM

Today I walked to the gym which I will count as 30 minutes, but truth be told I got caught up in a street fair, as tends to happen to me. Then I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster while watching the disco pageant on Toddlers and Tiaras. Next pageant's theme: Sugar and Spice.

Cricket, what are muckbang videos?

Killer workout today! It was my only training appointment for this week and it's been a few days since I really did any kind of workout so it was tough. I struggled through some parts but it felt good.

Warm up: elliptical
Stats: 116 cal, 1.26 mi, 15:04 min

30 minutes of strength training

Cool down: elliptical
Stats: 88 cal, .76 mi, 13:00 min

7mi scorcher run this am at 5:30am...may have
to get out earlier to beat the heat..but it's almost
Summer...tomorrow 4mi with my walking friend.

And, no camping, or hiking out here this season...so, may
have to head East if I want to go camping, hiking I can
do further North. It's so dry here that the Forest Service
has closed all camp sites, hiking trails...not great, but
no one wants forest fires.

keep on keepin' on, Greco

The other day I bought an Irwin wood boring drill bit. It is beyond awesome. Drilled 1 inch wide, 12 inches deep holes in stumps today. My 10 amp industrial Dewalt corded hammer drill made the task easy. Kind of boring but needs to be done before I burn them. A guy told me to get some used motor oil because it burns a very long time. I will try it once I start burning again. I filled 2 five gallon cans with diesel gas yesterday to have on hand, plus filled 4 five gallon cans with regular gas for lawn equipment and for my truck if I forget to buy gas on the way home when I am low. I will take an empty can to the place where I get my oil changed. I feel sure they will fill it free with the used oil they drain from vehicles that are getting an oil change since they throw it away anyway.

*laughing like all hell when I read nycfem is tiring of watching Toddlers and Tiaras*

AAAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAAAA! That strikes me ao funny! :)

It is really sweet that she has enjoyed Toddlers and Tiaras so please do not be offended ... but ... well ... just hearing the name of it cracks me it bigtime!!! ;)

nycfem 06-10-2018 07:29 PM

Welllll, I deviated from watching Toddlers and Tiaras today. I just couldn't take it lol :D! I started a good Netflix true crime original called "Evil Genius"- a really intriguing mystery. I did 30 minutes on the stair master followed by 20 minutes of stretching and core exercises.

I had a funny interaction with Judith. First I saw her on the way in. She said that she was planning to go to church. She goes to a nearby Catholic Church. Funny to walk into a gym and say your plan is to go to church but I believe she meant she was going to perhaps go in the sauna first. So after my workout I came back to the locker room and she was sitting in shorts and a bra reading the newspaper. Our gym provides a free newspaper for all of us to share in the locker room. Ever since I deemed her conservative, I've kept a bit of a distance from her, but all of a sudden she became very animated and said:

"Jennifer, we have a newspaper thief!"

She said it as if I would know what that meant. I said, "Pardon?"

She said, "We have a newspaper thief!"

I asked, "What do you mean?"

She explained that a specific individual, a female locker room member, has been taking the newspaper out of the locker room to read while she exercises and then putting it in her purse and leaving with it. She said that she caught the woman in the act. She described the woman, and I think I might know who it is but I'm not sure. Judith was super pissed! I told her I'd be on the look out and speak up if I saw it happening. Who needs Netflix with such locker room intrigue!

Martina 06-10-2018 10:17 PM

My new goal is three times a week. I did exercise three times last week, and it took me two days to recover. I swam twice and went to the gym once (pool was closed). I found this machine that's kind of like a stationary bike but not. You just alternately bring your legs up and down, knees bent. Fortunately, my knee didn't not blow up the next day. I did 40 minutes, which is more than I imagined I could.

I have lost 36 lbs now, and I still can't walk. I've started Humira. I've got two months to make this happen -- be able to walk so I can work. It looks more and more like it will take more time than that. Or it might not happen at all, in which case I'll have my second knee replacement. :(

RockOn 06-11-2018 04:48 AM

Hey Martina ...

Is it your knee that you use the TENS on? Curious because I have thought of getting a TENS since I have had some disc issues the last couple of months. Thanks and hope it gets much, much better very soon.

Hella mess not to be able to walk!!

Kätzchen 06-11-2018 05:29 PM

My report for today.....

I still can't ride my beautiful bicycle yet, but my exercise today was to sit out in my kitchen and give her a bath. After I shined up her chrome, an neighbor came over to check on me, so they took my bicycle pump and pumped up the tires. Then I got out the new lights for my bicycle and attached them to the seat and to the handle bars. I couldn't get it back to the spare bedroom, so it's sitting out near the kitchen.

I also went down three flights of stairs to go get the mail and climbed back up the stairs to my home.

I burned a lot of calories.

My legs and muscles in my back are still on fire.

Huzzah. :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:

I know it's not your goal but 36 lbs is something to be proud of and a definite step in the right direction. Was the machine you were on a recumbent bike? Did it sit back more than a regular stationary cycle? I like those. They are definitely more gentle on the joints.

As for myself, I had a great workout today. I needed it. It had been a week since I've done anything to get my heart rate up. Granted, I've been busting my hump at work but the manual labor doesn't get my heart rate up so it doesn't do me much good other than burning calories.

Warm up: elliptical
Stats: 77 cal,.83 mi, 10 min

30 minutes of strength training...we hit on just about everything with rope pulldowns, kickbacks, curls, pull downs, planks, assisted squats, resistance band shuffles and chest presses to name a few. We cycled through them all about 3 times.

My trainer was surprised how fast I was moving today. He laughed and said that I really did want to get my heart beating today and I nodded because he said that when I was in a plank and I can't laugh or move too much or I'll keel over. Those suckers are not fun.

Cool down: elliptical
Stats: 105 cal, .93 mi, 15 min

My official cool down was after I sat in my trainer's office, bullshitting with him for 10-15 minutes, so I must have been super cool with all that resting going on.

:hangloose:
:mohawk:
