Hi everyone! I can not begin to tell you how busy I am and how much I suck as a lofter. Sorry for my hit and miss posting. I will share the following. I am 6 weeks from the completion of a new skill set that is going to allow me to make money, have a lot of freedom and possibly change our lives. :-). I can't wait to be able to say exactly what it is.

oksoftbutch 02-10-2013 05:31 PM

Cool....good luck on the best possible finish.... :hangloose:

Hi all!

Just popping in to see how y'all are doing!

As some of you know it was my birthday last week - - turned the big 50.
Let me tell you, being 50 sucks! lol
Honestly - being 50 isn't bad but getting super sick on my birthday sucked! It started as just a little tickle in my throat and within a few hours I was sicker than a dog. Laid up for almost a week. Went to school today and fell asleep during lecture! yikes!
so - I'm on the mend but it seems to take longer than it used to.

Enough about me! What is everyone up to? Anything interesting going on?

lusciouskiwi 02-12-2013 08:31 PM

Had better head off and get some stuff done ... got "Wasting away in Margaritaville" stuck in my head!

:jester: i'll be 58 on April 8 ... just walked away from the longest relationship of my life..9.5 years... and i'll tell the truth... i'm scared to death..i've walked,run,crawled,mambo-ed and slip-slided away from all kinds of lovers in the past.. but at this age..i suddenly feel the pressure of time that i never felt before...like i don't have time to waste now in a relationship that doesn't work out.. i'm pissed about this last one because i surely didn't have 9.5 years to waste.. i never thought in these terms when i was younger..even in my 40s i felt like i had all the time in the world to find the right woman.. and i have no idea of how to even begin finding that woman now..my flirting/dating skills were largely invisible at the best of times...now i'm just standing here going.." ummm..hello?"..one thing i do know... i'm really looking forward to going out with women around my own age .. my ex is 21 years younger than i am..it wasn't a problem at the beginning..but by the end i think the pretty vast difference had taken it's toll... now all i have to do is get up the nerve to talk to some fabulous 40,50,60-something femmes...anybody want to help me i surely won't object..have a fabulous day everyone

and welcome NickE to the loft, sorry to read you are going thru this... i'm sure a lot of us here understand completely how you feel about being our age , single and time.
I for one do not want to grow old alone... as well its nice to have someone there that you can be completely on the same page with with love, hobbies, desires, etc.. well you know what i mean.
:)

I think we should all pack our bags and go bunk in over at Clays for a week or 2... maybe 3 .. lol and enjoy the beachs sunshine, well when it warms back up...
. :)

NickE, I can sympathize. I just got out of a relationship too. It wasn't as long as yours, but I was really taken by surprise and truly thought this was my "forever" one. I was single for 9 years before that, and so I really feel the same time pressure that you're feeling. I don't want to waste any more time either. And I feel pretty clueless, too! So don't feel like you're all alone in this. There's at least one more in the same boat with you. :)

Good morning lofty ones. I'm finally over bout 2 of the cold. The Dr. told me I could expect to get it up to 3 times this year. I hope not. It's good to see new faces and the old ones here. I hope the weather next week is easier on all of you. Stay Well and happy.
