Mine is "I wish you much love, peace and happiness"

something that was taught to me in '94 by a very respected role model and my trade instructor (little did I know then how it would affect me now)...
Adapt, Improvise and Overcome ... that has guided me through many DIY projects as well as life's hardships. it's helped me survive several life threatening events. Thank you Mr. Baldwin. I've never forgotten your lessons. then there's something I was gifted in an engraved piece of jewelry ... this fits me well... Share the Journey ... |
always help those in need.
and sometimes that need might be guidance. if that need is to guide into the land of rhythm and pleasure, ... then by all means, guide. |
Insanity is repeating the same mistake and expecting a different result.

Dreams are made for children ...and for children, dreams come true.

Make money by all means, but be sure to make memories as well. |

Not sure if these count as creeds and they are too short to be mottos, but I have embraced them for a long time:
1. O me! Oh Life. O the questions of these recurring. O the endless trains of the faithless. O cities filled with the foolish! What good, amid these, O me, O life? The answer: That life exists and identity. The powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. - Dead Poet's version of Walt Whitman quote and 2. I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep, and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to wrap all that was not life, and not when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived. - Dead poet's version of Thoreau quote I'm also partial to the Princess Bride quote: Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something. |
motto
Mine is "Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero" or "Seize the day, put very little trust in tomorrow."
You never know if there will be a tomorrow if you are 4 or 104 so live it up and be grateful for everyday. |
Do unto others, then run like hell....

Words to live by:
Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever. Baron Munchausen What is wanted is not the will to believe, but the will to find out, which is the exact opposite. Bertrand Russell |
Marine Biologist & Ecologist - Rachel Carson (1907-1964).
“If I had influence with the good fairy, who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life, as an unfailing antidote against the boredom and disenchantments of later years, the sterile preoccupation with things artificial, the alienation from the sources of our strength.” ― Rachel Carson in The Sense of Wonder “Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” ― Rachel Carson in Silent Spring http://www.rachelcarson.org/ |
The Real Truth
If it ain't fun, don't do it.

Very simple, but meaningful.
"Today you, tomorrow me." What I mean by that is people who struggle need help, being kind to others can have a long lasting impact for those people to want to show the same compassion when your downfall comes. Ups and downs are normal, and everyone will have them. |
