So true!!

And the older I get the more I realize just how right my mom was when she would tell me things about life and aging. I just didn't believe it could be... most of it's true.

There are signs every where and all you have to do is read them.

Life is too short to deal with people who don't value themselves.

The holidays are meant to be enjoyed with people you actually like/care about.

Universal truths are not.

So the older I get the more I realize I am to old!!!

I always figured once the children were all grown I would do something terribly fascinating with my life. I always planned on heading off to viet nam or korea and teaching English, or building houses or something of a humanitarian nature.

Well I just found out I am to old........ for korea, viet nam, taiwan...and several other places since I am close to 60 and the retirement age in those locations is 60 and therefore they will not hire me to work, as then if I serve two years I can retire .....hummm.. not exactly what I planned on having happen.

I will keep plugging away cause somewhere i will find a volunteer position or teaching position that will accept an old coot.

But I sure am feeling a little old right now!

Isn't that just a wonderful feeling? You think to Yourself, "This is so mean, to let go of this person!" and so You try again.....and You don't feel any better for being "nice".....and it's hard to 'divorce' someone with whom "You're supposed to be friends". But to let go of the toxicity (and it may only be toxic for YOU) is ~ I have found ~ a very healthy thing. The peace that results is SO huge!

The older I get, the more I realize that to have PEACE is a beautiful thing!

Yes,its wonderful to just let go of all the toxic ppl and things that have been absolutely not good for me.some of the ppl have been friends for many years but just wouldnt drop the drama that festered constrant bs.Some have been close family, wich I really thought hard about what to do about all the toxicity they brought with them, one day I sat down and talked to them about it..ya know just talking about the prob.Well it didnt do a darn bit of good cause it just went on as before..so out they went.I wished I hadnt had to do this but haveing peace in my life had to happen. Now I am free to just be me and do what I should have been doing.
