For my Auntie Margaret (age 100), my father's eldest sister and the Grand Matriarch who lead our family for all these years after my grandparents passed. I still see her crisply walking out in front of the crowd of all of my aunts and uncles at McCarran airport on the occasion of my father's 71st birthday, nearly 11 years ago. This is for Auntie Margaret and what we came to call "The Joy L** Family", with all my love, respect and admiration. What an angel on earth. She helped me and my family through a very difficult time. Called the funeral home, the Veterans Administration....she lined everything up for us. We were scared and we were hurt and we were in need. And we looked up and there was Spirit Dancer.......helping, guiding, embracing us and lighting the path for us to follow. There really are no words..... You, my dear, are an angel on this earth. So many, many of us are blessed that you are in our lives. |

Please live, grow up and find that there is a beautiful world waiting out there for you. I dedicate it to all Butches and FTM's who can't hide and won't hide, and who have carried the light of our freedom movement forward in their strong and beautiful hands. I dedicate it to all our gentle, steel willed femmes who can hide (and sometimes do hide - we can't be strong EVERY minute), but mostly don't hide.
