I showered, using my Paris L'Amour wash, lotion, powder and fragrance even if it is just Super Duper Clean-Up Day. And when I'm done with that, I might well get Chinese :).

KCBUTCH 02-17-2013 12:12 PM

relaxed with coffee
took a long walk with my dog
and got to mtg

StrongButch 02-17-2013 04:27 PM

Myself

Had a great day with my buddy K.

TheMerryFairy 02-17-2013 04:36 PM

I slept in, decided it was a day to be lazy and to only distract myself with projects or activites that I WANT to get out of the way.

Cooking, organizing and starting taxes are all on the list but it isn't being done in a manner that will stress me out. It's all very relaxed and I will do it as I please for tonight.

StrongButch 02-19-2013 08:17 AM

Done

1)Taking extra good care of myself.2) Saying no no no no.

willow 02-19-2013 08:31 AM

Self administered pedi/mani. Black glitter polish on the toes of my super pampered and polished feet and clear on fingers of my, slightly drier than I'd like, hands. Having my hands in water 50 times a day and the bitter cold, biting winter winds don't help with that. Got to get myself some better kitchen gloves..... (or wear the ones I have ALL THE TIME instead of when I take those extra few seconds...)

*After thought* probably more than 50 times a day and I am not a clean freak.

A home-made mix of something like cocoa butter, jojoba oil/wax and argan oil will fix those drier than you would like hands.

In what proportions? Do you have a 'recipe'? Should I use Raw Natural Deodourised Cocoa Butter? (I've been googling)

I'd like to make a batch in time for my upcoming spa weekend 2nd/3rd March and gift jars of homemade hand cream to my two roomies. :)

Proportions are according to preference. Experimentation is the key. I personally currently use a mix with the greater proportion being jojoba, then argan, then evening primrose, with meadowfoam oil as the least. I use this on my face and hands.

Another good method is to whisk a little of the oils into melted cocoa butter and allow it to set to get a 'hand bar' that you can carry in a suitable size tiny 'tupperware'.

The cocoa butter would be a great barrier when used regularly/frequently if you have your hands in water a lot.

Add a little blissful ylang ylang and yer cookin' wit' gas!! :winky:

Daktari 02-19-2013 09:57 AM

Ebay is your friend of cocoa butter. I don't think I've necessarily bothered with the deoderised stuff before. Food grade cocoa butter is what you're looking for.

In UK this the website I've recently discovered and can highly recommend their products and service.

Thank you for the link! At a quick glance and I can see they sell pretty much everything I could possibly need to make my hand cream. And, reasonably priced too.

Better dust off my cauldron. :)

Yup they do have it all. I buy their packaging too.

Can I recommend that you have utensils dedicated to making such products.

If you want a creamy texture for hands then look at shea butter or possibly mango butter.
I've always had a bit of a problem with mixing oils and butters. Sometimes they seem to granulate but I'm not sure why. One day I'll work it out. It's why I tend to work solely with oils nowadays and just have the odd pure cocoa butter 'muffins' for hands (yup, I really do set them in a mini muffin tin).

ps. with the link. Unless you're paying for next day delivery or some such I recommend choosing the cheapest of the postage options, it doesn't seem to make a difference to how quickly it arrives unless you pay scads more. Also found that orders made later in the working week seem to arrive more quickly for some reason...that's my experience anyway.

willow 02-19-2013 10:49 AM

I can't imagine wanting anything badly enough to pay scads more for delivery, ever.

starryeyes 02-19-2013 10:52 AM

I was *brutally* honest with my roommate this morning, something I usually am not. I would rather run from confrontation but she had me so mad, I had to let her have it. It feels good to have that off my chest!!!!

Bleu 02-19-2013 04:20 PM

Had a lovely time here http://www.oaklandsmuseum.org with a lovely friend.

Soft*Silver 02-19-2013 04:23 PM

I have turned the lights off and am hiding in my chair..today was HORRIBLE! I am protecting myself from the rest of the day!

TheMerryFairy 02-19-2013 04:27 PM

I turned up the radio in the car and just let it all out! I also made myself a good lunch and took a few minutes on my break to sit back with a magazine and a cup of tea.

Hollylane 03-10-2013 10:16 PM

I just deleted Chefville from my FB. There are too many other things I could be doing for myself, and I can find other ways to unwind from work.

For example, after taking care of the pets, and home chores, I could unwind with a glass of wine and a good book.

TheMerryFairy 03-11-2013 12:29 AM

I got up, did some work around my space to feel decluttered, organized and calm, made myself a nice meal, motivated myself into working for awhile and then I relaxed!!!!

I even spent time with my friends without multi tasking *laughs*

KCBUTCH 03-11-2013 02:57 PM

Made a clear list of things I dont want and wont do in relationships next time

TheMerryFairy 03-11-2013 03:03 PM

I am letting myself enjoy today without overthinking my age or politely declining people doing things for me. That is rare.

I am going to relax, have a drink and celebrate the way I want later without feeling guilty about it.

I am indulging in good food, these gifts and enjoying the company of my friends for the entire evening OR until I get overwhelmed and I decide I need to do a few self care things.

Kenna 03-11-2013 03:06 PM

I let go of something that's been causing me stress... when I let it go, I was able to smile and relax. It was a small something, but the stress it caused was big. When I let it go, I told myself 'if tomorrow holds the news I expect, I will deal with it as it comes...not let the stress win now."

Duchess 03-11-2013 03:13 PM

Exfoliated my whole body. I feel terrific!!:cheer:

Daktari 03-11-2013 03:16 PM

Been to a meeting
Phoned another fellowship member for a little support.

Kenna 03-11-2013 04:09 PM

I did it...I cleaned out the fridge and removed temptation. It felt good to get past my procrastination stage and process a few things.

Hollylane 03-11-2013 09:40 PM

I remembered to bring home 24 cheese & jalapeno tamales, and then but them in the freezer so that I don't go hog wild on them, and eat them in a week. Moderation, moderation!!!

At the discount grocery store, I picked up some new shampoo and conditioner that is cruelty-free, 100% organic, made in the U.S.A., smells awesome, and is bottled in recycled plastic. Cheap too!!

I patted myself on the back, because despite feeling like doo-doo, I worked 12 hours today, talked to 120 people, and pre-made up time, that I am going to lose tomorrow when I leave early for an appointment with my surgeon. Go me!!!

StrongButch 03-13-2013 03:21 PM

Done

Put ear-plugs in my roomate cant sing. She was singing Do you wanna touch me there. She really needs a boyfriend soon. Otherwise im scared what she will do singing that song. (lol) Maybe she should go to local cowboy bar. Save a horse ride a Cowboy. (lol)

Chancie 03-13-2013 03:43 PM

I put on my mismatched pajamas and cozy fleece robe as soon as I got home from work.

Kenna 03-13-2013 03:48 PM

no matter how exhausted I am or how tempting the thought ...
rather than going out to eat as the thought hit on my way home that I'd love a big fat cheeseburger, fries and a loaded appetizer from Friendly's...
I came home and lit my grill with mesquite coals to grill lean steak and fresh mushrooms ...instead of fighting traffic and just vegging out on the couch after burger and fries... I'm comfy in my warm pjs, on porch enjoying fresh air ..waiting on the coals and anxious for my yummy dinner that won't make me regret the calories or that bloated feeling ...

it's chilly out but sitting by the flames in my own peaceful space can do wonders...

lusciouskiwi 03-24-2013 08:49 PM

I'm off to get a mani and a pedi. :D

TheMerryFairy 03-24-2013 10:57 PM

I took a bubble bath, relaxed with some movies and had some serious down/self-care time.

Now I am indulging in wnigs and chocolate.

Kenna 06-21-2013 11:59 PM

cuz I deserved it

I had a long soak in a hot bath after I sprinkled two packs of "soothing bath treatment " and stepped out smelling like oatmeal cookies ...
then I had a glass of Raspberry Verde while enjoying a rare movie night with a buddy ...

Gemme 06-22-2013 06:44 PM

I trimmed my bangs, washed my hair and shaved.

Trust me, that's all I was going to be able to do today.

stargazingboi 06-22-2013 10:11 PM

I took a shower..made myself something to eat...banged my head against the wall...and yeah that was enough for me today

Hollylane 06-23-2013 05:13 PM

I allowed myself a little browsing time for artsy stuff at the Goodwill, then created a few pretty things with the spoils!

grenade 06-23-2013 11:27 PM

I finally ate something after a few days of not being able to.

~baby~doll~ 06-24-2013 12:30 AM

Took a nice long bubble bath after a long weekend out of town.

Gemme 06-24-2013 10:28 AM

I'm making the active choice to be passive. I have a ton of stuff to do but I'm choosing, since this week will be crazy, to just relax and 'be'.

asphaltcowboi 06-24-2013 10:42 AM

hmm my hot tub is being delivered today so if it warms up enough by this eve ill be in it soaking away any woes
