No judgement, it just really throws me when I read things like this.

So, was anybody kidding (maybe you, Clay?)?

I ashure you I wasn't kidding.I moved into a new place ten years ago but didnt think it was one of the worst parts of my town.My house was broken into with me on the phone calling to cops and the perp laughing at the whole thing while he was trying to got the door open,if it hadnt been I shot a hole in the door a foot oever his head I most likely wouldnt be hear to type this plus the house across the street was a crack house..no joke.I had no place else to go so I stayed untill I had enough cash to move. Now I take no chances.

Top Tier:
- reading lamp
- glasses
- Motorola Xoom
- LG Intuition and bluetooth, with chargers
- bottle of water
- acid reflux meds (freakin 2am heartburn from hell)

Bottom Tier:
- subwoofer thingy for the surround sound (yes, I have surround sound in my bedroom as well as the living room)
- antique glass urn (full of coins)
- Hitachi (no, I do not listen to porn in surround sound)
- remotes for tv, dvd, surround sound, PS3 controller (so I'm a gamer, ok)
- wireless keyboard and mouse (because my pc is hooked up to the 32" flat screen on the wall)
- .38 special (cause I'm that kinda girl)

dixie 11-28-2012 11:33 AM

Hmm....never really thought about the gun thing. I grew up with a grandma who wore a garter gun. I also have 2 guns on top of the china cabinet in the dining room, another revolver in my closet (which I usually forget about and falls on my head when I'm trying to reach for stuff), and a gun safe with rifles and shotguns, along with the antique weaponry that has been passed down to me. For me, I think it's just how I was raised. *shrug*

jules5041 11-28-2012 11:56 AM

On my bedside table is my kindle fire, my pill box, my lamp, Hello Kitty IPod dock alarm, Blistex, a Dr. Pepper and at this moment some Kleenex.

Jules

imperfect_cupcake 11-28-2012 12:01 PM

reading lamp.
electric cig
two fashion magazines
cell phone

I like the table free from crap. I'm not a stuff person. My laptop is my stereo and my tv as well as my computer. I like everything to fit into one load of a minivan.

Granted, now that I've got my furniture back, that's not possible. but having learned to live without "stuff" the last 10 years, I really can't see the point in much of it. I've got nothing worth stealing except my laptop and my phone. I rather like it that way.

Katniss 11-28-2012 01:02 PM

Table #1

Lamp
Dust

Table #2

Lamp
Blackberry (serves as alarm clock)
Dust (came as a matching set see table #1)

Notes to self;

Use caution when planning surprise visit to those who list both "firearms" and "glasses" in case of a "shoot first, put glasses on later" policy.

Decide if I am in a "carrot or stick" mood when visiting those with both treats/cookies next to tasers/knives/teargas, etc.

Srsly. debating on pros/cons of mustard vs. choclate in the bedroom.....

Katniss~~(feeling ashamed my tables are so lacking in interest compared to rest of planet...*sigh*)

Embarrassing enough, I have 2 empty coconut water containers that I need to throw away, bobby pins, some loose money and a cleaning product. Maybe I should use the cleaning product and clean it off. Haha!

Ginger 11-28-2012 08:00 PM

Oh yeah and I forgot to add ... next to the Ikea lamp with the paper shade on my night table there's my Glock 19, my LadySmith Revolver (it's corny but I like corny), my Baretta 92F, my pretty little Ruger, my 38 Special (that was actually my first), my Taurus Small Frame Revolver, my sweet little S&W M37, my Kahr K9, my heavily customized Kahr E9 (which is starting to bore me), my Taurus PT111 (I just keep it for nostalgic reasons), my EG Makarov, and my good old Glock 27.

Okay just kidding. I don't have a gun, though I grew up visiting my grandparents' farms and ranches where everyone had rifles, because they needed them for taking care of wild things that might menace the chickens or calves. And then my parents had guns, and I think my sister does, but I'm not sure. Oh and I had a lover who had a rifle, and she kept it on the floor by the mattress in a cabin we slept in sometimes upstate.

I think I'm processing how it feels to learn so many people here on the Planet say they have guns.

So I tried saying it too to see how it felt, and kind of rolled the gun talk around in my mouth and played with it, which is of course a silly thing to do. I'll never get a gun, but I do like the vocabulary of small arms.
