Suprises me

What surprises me is that no matter what I do or say my dog loves me. He stays by my side and seems to know when I need him most without even asking.

CherryWine 02-23-2015 03:59 PM

Women who grow up to be "mean girls." They baffle me. I'm talking about women who even have daughters and granddaughters of their own. We should be lifting each other up, not tearing each other down. I'm certain it boils down to insecurities, but we all have those. We have enough to contend with already without being our own worst enemies.

kittygrrl 02-23-2015 08:28 PM

flowers are blooming and it's only February! oranges in the mail, kind friends:wine:

Kätzchen 02-24-2015 12:46 AM

How slowly time goes by.

kittygrrl 02-24-2015 04:19 PM

people...people who feel their suffering is more egregious then most. Part of the Cassandra Complex..

Cin 02-24-2015 10:01 PM

I'm always surprised. Life is just one big wonder filled surprise that never gets old even though I do. And every day is brand new. Days are like snowflakes in that no two are exactly alike so there is always something amazing around the next corner. I'm always prepared to be stunned, but the expectation never dulls the surprise.

JustLovelyJenn 03-01-2015 10:47 PM

How much jewelry and make up I really have... where did it all come from?

Gemme 03-02-2015 06:09 AM

I'm surprised that I'm standing and actually woke up with the alarm. It was a very, very, very late night for me and I don't do well on little to no sleep.

bright_arrow 03-04-2015 03:02 AM

The severity of my nightmares sometimes, and as I get older, realizing how frequent I've had them since childhood.

Bèsame* 03-12-2015 10:36 PM

that Sean Penn is older than the President.

How kind some folks are and and how their heart is so so kind and that they have no unkind words for anyone! They see good in all!

kittygrrl 03-13-2015 12:08 AM

the daffodils are 3 weeks early, Skagit Valley is very surprised!

JDeere 03-13-2015 12:41 AM

The amount of hate some people have for things and other people.

cinnamongrrl 03-13-2015 06:40 AM

How.receptionists around here respond when you say you're eating alone... 'just you?" Is typically heard...its somewhere between condescending and pitying. I'm truly fine going anywhere on my own...tyvm snide bitches...

*Anya* 03-13-2015 09:57 AM

On one hand...

Absolutely nothing surprises me anymore (when people hurt or harm others or animals)

but

on the other,

I am constantly surprised by the goodness and kindness that people can show towards others in need.

That is always heart warming.

cinnamongrrl 03-13-2015 10:07 AM

The fact that Anya's post was positive does NOT surprise me...

Ive been in a bit of a negative nelly funk...

There is much good in my life and I'm ever grateful...

femmeandstrong 03-13-2015 12:43 PM

Unexpected kindness

anotherbutch 03-13-2015 01:03 PM

feelings I wish I didn't have..

Daniela 03-13-2015 02:59 PM

That Fox News still has viewers.

Cailin 03-13-2015 03:00 PM

people's audacity-- sending photo's to people they've known less than 24 hours because they "think you'd like it"...

no.. no, I do not.

anotherbutch 03-14-2015 07:01 AM

That I haven't had a cigarette for 14 months... not one puff. :pirate:

Bèsame* 03-14-2015 09:12 AM

Ok, I'm not surprised actually, but Saturday morning TV, really sucks. However, I'm sitting with yet the same ice pack on my knee. Ouch. Not surprised with that either, going up and down the stairs, well, took a toll.

What does surprise me, the TV movie I stopped on. Made in 1986. Did we really have those shoulder pads in everything???

Blade 03-14-2015 10:28 AM

What surprises me? How people remember so much about things from the past. like in the throwback Thursday thread. I have to look this stuff up or google it to remember or see it in a movie or look at old family pictures or something.

Like the above post, I watch a movie and go huh we really did that, looked like that, wore that whatever. Then I thing about it and go yup we sure did. It surprises me I don't just remember stuff like that off the top of my head.

Was it Pretty in Pink? I saw some of it while at the gym this morning.

Hope your knee feels better.

Every year after year after year after year when the Crepe Myrtles bloom overnight!

Kätzchen 03-15-2015 01:06 PM

That I am thinking of converting and applying my academic credentials to become, possibly, an engineer (electrical or robotic science).

Bèsame* 04-03-2015 10:29 PM

i was surprised at first, but I'm liking the simple addition.

7+2

Blaze 04-03-2015 10:39 PM

kittygrrl 04-04-2015 01:49 AM

that some people are ever learning but never come to a knowledge of the truth-"wickedness will never bring happiness"

thank you FireSignFemme for the rep you left on my post from two years ago. My plan that year got derailed, but it's still been on my mind ..... all this time. It could still happen, yet.

Thanks for the nudge, FSF :rrose:

kittygrrl 12-14-2017 05:28 PM

Clyde 12-14-2017 05:39 PM

Suprising

Human kindness and thoughtfulness always suprises me. Maybe I expect the worst of people based on my life experiences so when humans are selfless and kind I am suprised.

A coworker lost her mother suddenly this week. Folks in her group are driving more than 3 hours each way to attend the services and offer their support. To me, that is beautiful.

girl_dee 12-24-2017 02:12 PM

that there are still people out there scrambling for things, as if Dec 25 was just sprung up on them today!

kittygrrl 12-25-2017 12:42 AM

trying to wait up for Santa..but i always fall asleep!

Chad 12-26-2017 12:06 AM

Suprise

Once again the kindness of strangers has suprised me. I probably pushed mom too much today with long walks. After dinner we went to the Christmas light festival at the park. I dropped mom off at a park bench and headed to the restroom. The next thing that I saw was mom going down to the ground. She had reached for the park bench but lost her footing on uneven ground.

I ran for her but two guys beat me to her and they both picked her up and put her on the bench. The two young guys were not alone, people ran to my mom from every direction.

There are a lot of kind people walking around in the world.

I am monitoring mom's leg but it looks yucky.

kittygrrl 12-26-2017 08:38 AM

how good i feel at the moment-

JustLovelyJenn 12-26-2017 12:56 PM

It's been almost a year, and I am still suprised by how amazing it feels to have her in my arms.

The surprise of my tastebuds changing because of my diet...

That after a few weeks of a raw food vegan diet, I bought a small container of french fried onions (the type put on top of green bean casserole for Thanksgiving holiday meal), and I could taste the bitterness of it. I told myself "so this is what dead food tastes like, it doesn't have any nutrition." And they didn't have any bad ingredients in them! I threw them out.

It reminded me of a potluck lunch I attended. I brought organic strawberries. Someone there told me "those are the sweetest strawberries I've ever tasted!" I explained to him they were organic and didn't have the bitterness of the pesticides in them, and this is why there were so sweet.

Deborah
